QUOTE(XiuKeong @ Aug 28 2015, 02:55 PM) I have a question. Is Liteon SSD OEM performance good? I've googled few user reviews and most of them said it's worth getting it. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Btw, if I were to sell my existing 60GB, how much can I sell it? I just bought another one Liteon S900 256GB today. This post has been edited by NightFelix: Aug 28 2015, 03:53 PM

QUOTE(gooni3 @ Sep 7 2015, 04:58 PM) Ok got it thanks. I was going for best bang for buck initially but with the weakening ringgit the liteon is now at rm399 vs rm530 for the Samsung evo. So I'm wondering maybe it's worth paying for the better brand, 2 years extra warranty and slightly better performance on the evo (I assume performance is better not too sure about that).. No idea what rapid is I build a RM3k render rigs based on Xeon build also using Liteon 900S as my primary drive what. Bang for bucks la.

QUOTE(horns @ Oct 22 2015, 03:58 PM) haha hopefully. compared to a few years ago (like 2 years ago), for sata ssds, with the same price tag at that time you will get double the capacity today. I find that RM380 can buy 256GB Liteon 900S SSD are quite reasonable for me. As we know the 1TB WD HDD already at RM189/199.

QUOTE(Oyaji @ Nov 29 2015, 10:19 AM) Since many recommend Liteon S900 I just might get one. I saw in garage sale people selling OEM liteon? is it the same S900? Where to find the cheapest price for it? I am planning to purchase it January next year. liteon ssdthis one sells really cheap, really tempting. The link that the seller put is invalid... Cant check whether is the same OEM S900 model or not...

QUOTE(horns @ Jan 3 2016, 11:36 AM) ok hehe imo in m.2 form, the main downside is overheating of controller. i use bplus m2p4a currently. it's good. apparently it supports pcie 3.0 x4 also. - http://www.hwtools.net/Adapter/M2P4A.html- taobao link: http://world.taobao.com/item/37633868328.htmi have posted an image about bplus m2p4a previously, https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=71040951after all this while, there might be other options. previously this was the only one with heatsink. edit: btw, you need some thermal pads to ensure proper contacts between the ssd and heatsink. for some sata ssds, their aluminum case is actually used as heat spreader. I just realize, heatsink for SSD?

QUOTE(horns @ Jan 10 2016, 12:26 AM) for screens, it will take some time to go 8k. currently the gpu power is not that great to drive even 4k screens at high fps. so first of all, i might wanna try the taste of 4k with at least 120hz gsync first hehe I think still good enough to play games at 24" 1080p screen at 60fps AAA Games. If 8K

QUOTE(horns @ Jan 15 2016, 12:34 AM) lol ok ALERT: although i like plextor drives, there is a high failure rate of plextor drives being reported recently (model and capacity unknown). the actual reasons of drive failure are also unknown. if you're an owner of one, back up your data from time to time from now on. Using Plextor SSD since 2014 August, I guess I'm not affected?
