 HDD Claim Warranty, From WD

Hi,

Does anyone here claim warranty direct from WD? How long it take? My HDD i put as external. Each time i plug to my laptop, it's said i need to format. After format, i can use it. But after a few days, when i plug in it's said i need to format again. I think HDD have a problem already. So I want claim warranty. I already 1 year 3 month i use the HDD. check the s/n on the hdd on wd site.
if under warranty
sent the hdd back to the place u bought it (might hv services charges)
or
sent to wd urself. how? call their helpline and ask, i did once but forgot how ady haha (might hv to paid for postage)
took me around 1month +- last time

there is a diagnostic software that you can download from their website to check for your hard disk problem.

I download software from WD website. When test diagnostic, found bad sector in my hdd. I will get info from WD how to return the hdd.

I got experience rma wd hardisk.just go at their website,register and issue rma order.then you can send the broken hardisk at the address.last time somewhere at perai.if the hardisk arrive at their side,they will immediately send new one,about 2-3 days i got the new one.but the warranty period is remaining period from broken hardisk.

Yup what he said... I registered and send in my WD green early this week and now the replacement is on its way to me. thumbup.gif As long as its still under warranty it should be easy, i guess. nod.gif
