The Honda HR-V is a subcompact crossover SUV produced by Honda spanning two generations. The first generation HR-V was based on Honda Logo and sold in Japan and selective Asian-Pacific markets between 1999 and 2006. The second generation HR-V was based on third-generation Honda Fit and went on sale in North America, Australia, Brazil, and selective Asian markets in 2015. The second generation HR-V was largely identical to the JDM Vezel which went on sale in late 2013.

The abbreviation HR-V, according to Honda's HR-V history website, officially stands for Hi-rider Revolutionary Vehicle, while the other stands for Hip and Smart Runabout Vehicle. The HR-V was introduced to cater for the demand for vehicles with the benefits of SUVs (in particular its larger cousin CR-V), such as increased cargo room and higher visibility, along with the manoeuvrability, performance and fuel economy of a smaller car.

The HR-V's 1.8-litre i-VTEC engine has claimed fuel consumption of between 6.6L/100km

Its more or less the same as honda city new generation. So its something good!

Collected mine before cny. So far clocked 200 km around town giving 12km/l on average. Should improve as mileage increase and running in.

The HRV is well insulated, smooth operator with the CVT. Power is adequate and respond well when I stomp on the pedal.

I would rate the nvh to be surprisingly good. Better then the crv that I tested. Less bumpy as well....And I drive a vw ROC, so u can imagine what is my expectation... The hrv is definitely smoother than roc but that can be bad things when one start to push it...obviously the body roll is expected more... Beside its a family cross SUV, so one shld not expect a sporty or spirited drive although the CVT box is very responsive.

As ownership experience, Honda definitely stingy on V spec which I bought.(modern steel), should have full leather, dual tone interior, 17in rim, paddle shift. Sunroof is pointless in our weather. The remote system is crappier too compare to jazz or city which has no boot remote. The is no window down or wing mirror auto fold from remote too...

Nonetheless I'm happy with it. Wife n kid happy with more back space n higher comfort ride

i booked mine. V spec as well. shud be able to get it by next month. i test drive b4. bside the torque respond time got minor delay, i think mayb bcuz of CVT gear. The rest of my experience with it is awesome.

anyway, so what are the following car caring method u will do on below and what is ur recommandation?
1. tinting (i'm thinking to apply lumar T4-50, my other car using huper optic and plan to try another brand)
2. coating ( same i tried sierra glow b4 for classic coating, the result is not bad, just any recomandation?)
3. air filter ( new model, i dun think K&N will come our for it anytime soon.)
4. sport rim (anyone plan to change the rim? even for HRV Vspec, honda is so stingy that not giving 2tones sport rim like honda city)
5. racing bar (MPV need this?)

what else? Please share smile.gif

Hi all

On the HDMI iPhone connection....

You need install Radioapp on ur iPhone. Create acct n log in.

Connect the HDMI n Bluetooth. If the double right arrow on home screen work for u then its great. If not go to audio n select HDMI as source. Activate radioapp n then activate waze now(ensure waze setting allow external control) it will mirror on ur HU even if handbrake is down n driving. I can even control my waze from HU.

Except sound still come from my phone as I did not activate Bluetooth sound output.

Did not try video on the move for obvious reason.

Didn't have the opportunity to push past 130 thou, although the speedometer stated 220 but doubt it really can go there laugh.gif

Usually full-synthetic oil. First service in another 400+km or another 20 days from today laugh.gif

Somehow I felt the cvt that given by HM is a bit of Crap...

They really should give us the Manual mode and paddle system. This way we can maximize even more fuel efficiency.

The HRV cvt has a tendency to drop a ratio as u let go the throttle so it will coast to a stop fairly quickly. The cvt is not like those typical gearbox where they programmed to go for highest gear soonest possible for better FC.

I drive manual mode almost 100% of time on my previous ride. With manual u can chose gear for ur speed.

In return the HRV cvt is responsive and always ready to go.

As for FC, I only manage to have 12.5km/l on my first fill up. Hope it will improve as mileage rolling in

Do you know the recommend engine oil for this engine? 5W-40?

I've bought my targeted car number from JPJ online today, just nice new alphabet came in this morning. WB xx8 F @ RM210.00, still available are 8808, 8880 etc. Those who are getting new number pls move fast or else wait for next new Alphabet.

S & E specs can get their car earlier as told by my SA, it's better you call AD individually for inquiry.

Yes Econ mode on. Technically with Econ mode on, it should be more gentle... but it is not. I don't seems to detect lesser AC chill, throttle response with Econ mode on. Everything is as it is....with or without. I will continue to drive with Econ mode for few more Ks of mileage and then see how the FC work like without Econ...

That's weird because Vezel's owner can feel significant decrease in car performance once engaging Econ Mode. Maybe here they put it only for show as a special feature for marketing gimmick..lol.

Better wait for more owners to verify this feature.

Vezel is hybrid setup. So Econ may have a larger variable than standard NA setup as HRV.

I got mine V spec and already clocked 1200km so far.
inside the car lack of space and compartment to place gadgets,
there isn't any space can fit a normal tissue box.
car felt like floating when you have passenger sitting at the rear seats.
in hot day, rear passenger will feel warm, there's no rear aircond blower.

fuel consumption currently 13.5km/litre.

What sort of gadget u all using while driving? I only have phone which I can put into the slot next to my thigh.

The rear blower in city is also look only. Hardly have any strong breeze unless accord or crv. Just blast full fan speed to cool down the cockpit and the lower the speed as they get comfy la. In a hot day in malaysia without good tint sure roasted... The llumar crystal is really working well for me.

My previous car on llumar T4-50. I can really feel the diff between this and the HRV on crystal. Then again maybe its already older...

13.5km/l is damn good la... City drive?

I testdrove a HRV V Spec under hot sun. By controlling the air vent (closing one) on the passenger side, the back passenger can feel the air. But I must say the the rear vent (like City) is really nice especially in the weather like Malaysia.

Tried the Econ mode, can really feel significant power dropped. For 13.5km/litre, is the Econ mode on? Can someone report the fc with Econ mode on (say for 100-200km)?

On a separate note, if someone found a way to overwrite the "non-function HDMI with Parking release" issue for Android, please share. Thanks!

If you go through Vezel singapore forum, you'll noticed there's non-hybrid too. The thread alone reached 300+ pages, it's so popular till moderator decided to pinned it. Econ mode does have an impact on non-hybrid car performance on Vezel, owners said sluggish performance is instant once engaged.

when using econ mode drives below 60kmh during in jam as usual. This econ only helps to reduce aircon speed and less combustion. although I dont see any significant difference is like 10% efficiency? i was like wth

As for the engine performance. I think no comment since different cc

For those who are already driving the HRV, is your front doors rubber seal only half length reaching only mid point around the door handle vs back doors rubber seal that wraps around the door?

Yes it half length. If you look at the adjoining rear door panel next to the front door, there is another rubber seal which usually don't exist on many car including segment C. The HRV definitely more quiet compare to many..

HRV Owner

Btw, I'm waiting for Groovy Shade for HRV and hope they make it soon. It will give more privacy and lowering the VLT still when driving.

Plan mod:
Honda foot well light and door step protector and trunk tray

Hey fellow HRV owner..,
Seem you guys need a little tips from New City owner.. tongue.gif

Try to turn OFF ECON mode when u going high speed on highway.. Then u will see better FC.. same goes for new City..
The ECON mode will make your car respond slower hence u keep on pressing the accelerator which is NO GOOD..

Only during traffic jam, or urban area you turn ON ECON.. Bare in mind your car will not able to keep up the stop and go motion, hence frequently got cut queue from other driver., but you get better FC on traffic jam.

As for HU, iPhone owner able to mirror their phone to HU using AppRadio & control Waze using external control, which is a plus..

However, for Android user, need to have parking brake bypass, which is able on accessories shop, or buy from someguy in LYN.. nick: maxwell if not mistaken..

Once you install this parking brake bypass, Android & iPhone user able to mirror their phone for MOVIE / GPS / MUSIC / GAME*(not recommended).

That's it.. cheers icon_rolleyes.gif

Thanks for sharing bro... & Congrats on your new ride... rclxms.gif

For the mirror HU using iphone, is it only Waze which has external control? Can i use the iphone like normal through the HU screen?

Also, for the parking brake bypass, is this applicable to iphone as well since you mentioned android user need the bypass.

Also, can i mirror movies from my ipad to the HU? I would need the lightning to HDMI cable right? Any idea where I can get this cable and how much?

Basically iOS have 2 method to connect to HU.
1 -> Use appradio, connect HDMI & bluetooth, press the right arrow.. This way can control Waze externally*
2 -> Use parking brake bypass, connect HDMI only, Audio Source change to HDMI.. All control have to be done on iOS device

Only iOS (iPhone/iPad/iPod) user can use Waze externally... Others iOS function (messaging/air drop/bla bla bla) cannot use through HU screen..
Android user totally cannot control externally through HU screen...

Parking brake bypass is for all HDMI-able device.. All Control need to be done on device NOT HU screen.
is a half-baked HU, which is pretty give & take.. If you need more feature, kindly use third party HU such as Kenwood’s DDX9902S or Pioneer NEX

iOS device need HDMI lightning cable, able on any apple authorize store. Not such how much.. You need to go survey.. or Buy online..

No wire cutting require.. Plug & Play.. No harm to car.

Honda Malaysia has been very tricky, many agent will tell you that you will void warranty this and that if you do this and that.
E.G: third party tint, will void window warranty. But if you ask the agent tint for you, they will bring to HM panel to tint which for me also consider outsource.. Every Honda Center has different panel brand.. EcoTint, VKool, Solar Guard,.. So what's the logic? I don't know.. LOL..

Thanks Shinichi88 for those information. With regards to tinting without opening panel, we certainly need to look into it. If opening panel may result to rattling sound then definitely not a good idea.

i went for the tint provided by the honda dealer cause they will warranty that the installation would be good as they would need to remove the door panel and they will ensure the door panel will be back as good.

It is 1-3% for all car bcos currently we pay 10% tax. Then after gst we will just only pay 6%.

Wow... 4 months waiting list!?

2015 Honda HR-V – record-breaking 7,000 bookings since launch, waiting period grows to four months

In Cars, Honda, Local News / By Hafriz Shah / 5 March 2015 2:11 pm / Paul Tan

The 2015 Honda HR-V is breaking records in Malaysia already. Bookings for the new B-segment crossover have surpassed 7,000 units within the first month of its availability alone – claimed to be an all-time high for an SUV in Malaysia.

Of the bookings so far, 65% of it are for the range-topping RM118,800 Grade V, while the RM108,800 E and RM99,800 S models account for 20% and 15% respectively. That’s expected for a new model, and besides, most of the fancy toys are reserved for the V anyway.

As the booking numbers have surpassed Honda Malaysia’s own expectations, the waiting period for the HR-V has grown to four months. The company has announced that it will revise its production schedule to reduce the wait, but without rushing the process or affecting quality.

February 2015 turned out to be Honda Malaysia’s best month yet, with a total of 11,047 bookings recorded and more than 6,000 units sold. It sold 6,522 units in January, maintaining its lead in the non-national passenger vehicle segment. Honda Malaysia is confident of achieving its 85,000 sales target this year.

Hi all.
I decided want to tinted my honda hrv follow jpj new regulations. Which is 30% rear and both passanger rear. 50% both side and 70% windscreen.

As my understanding . There is no raytech tinted who offer 30%. So i will make double layer.

So i want to use;
Ultra 70 = windscreen
Ex gray = driver both side
Ex gray + steel black =rear and both passenger rear.

Or do u all got any combination or suggestion?

i did post the picture in the other thread. Not car club but the other HRV thread . anyway i had gotten my answer. it is indeed half cut for front doors. there is an additional seal between front and back doors which serve the purpose of both noise and water seal. hence the front door do not really need a wrap around seal.

HR-V thread started from there, with more information and pages to read, potential owners will be drawn towards that direction. The starter did PM me, said once new thread started in car club, just let him know and he will close main thread. Told him to leave it as it will benefit all potential owners.

No la. Actually just question me. Haven't bought. Coz for F all nice number gone. So I will grab for G. My sa told me my hrv already reach. Just wait for runner to bid my number. Runner wan rm500. Very expensive. So decided to bid that number myself for 210. Save 300 better than give that runner earn.

*
"G" should be out tomorrow or day after. Don't have to bid, get your login code from JPJ then track the number daily. When I purchased 968 & 1668 (Wilayah number), 8808 & 8880 is also available, spoilt with too much choices so I just paid for the first 2 numbers.

Each costing RM210.00, online payment then print receipt.

If I'm not wrong your's should be tender number thus people already placed bid in advance. There's so much to choose from or else let your runner get it done if you insist on that number.

Just went in to take a look. WB xxx "G" seems very hot, nice numbers mostly gone. Damn fast as compared to WB xxx "F", for "F" there's still plenty of nice numbers by late evening.

I'm in a dilemma now, holding both 968 and 1668. Which one should I use in order to sacrifice the other? Most friends said 1668 but 4 digits is really common even though it's a auspicious number while 968 is 3 digit. rclxub.gif

If me I take 968 haha and yea. 4 digit too common. My sa runner bought my 6898F which I requested but I don like the F and he bought without asking me so I have to pay 360. He earned my 150. So I better use the number that I like becoz the number and car will follow u at least 10 year above Haha if u get the number U not really satisfied. It will never be Ur lovely ride 😁

For ur case, xccess, if u hunting number. Better U hunt when ur car almost reach and c that time haha and hunt the best number U want. Like 889. 886. But those number sure ppl tender before u can see. If u keep hunting while waiting ur car later those number getting much nicer and end up U use 1k to buy number. 1k mayb can buy 2 digit number haha

ROFL laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif ....you didn't check how to deal with extra number hur? I only assume it will expire after third month, so ya....will let it expire. Don't think there's any penalty gua since we are willing to lose some money in order to retained the other number.

Not sure but read somewhere numbers can only be transferred after it's been registered on a vehicle. If I can transfer these numbers bought from mySIKAP so easily, I may as well turn this into a full time job, generate income by sitting infront of computer hunting nice numbers night and day. laugh.gif

I stand to be corrected.

ooops this is the main thread..

Just collected my HRV yesterday. booked in January. collected late coz waiting for number plate = P

just wondering everyone knows that we can use iphone and appRadio with waze while driving and being able view to control all its function via the HU with lighting to HDMI cable attached.

just wondering anyone tried using 3rd party miracast/ezcast/airplay dongle rather than apples AV able, and are able to use the same feature ?

(less wires connected)

thanks

check with u all, HRV seems to be not equipped with cobra alarm like City. there is no black button with blinking light that usually come with cobra alarm. check the book, it seems that HRV is HONDA ALARM system.

another thing is the remote cannot trigger alarm. usually u can press the remote to force the car to make alarm sounds useful to find car in carpark. but seems like HRV remote cant.

another thing is the remote cannot trigger alarm. usually u can press the remote to force the car to make alarm sounds useful to find car in carpark. but seems like HRV remote cant.

Tell you dad ASX is old model whereas HRV is new model, at least HRV can last another 5 years before a totally new HRV model replacement.

Tell your dad that ASX no resale value. HRV with the mighty H had good resale value.
Also 4WD drinks more petrol.

HRV 6 airbags, tell your dad your life is worth it.

good luck

Honda city got co pilot sensor. When co pilot didn't put on the seat belt. Beep sound notification still wont turn off. But for hrv. It seem like seat belt sensor is just for driver side only.

mitsu ASX 4wd, rm128k, 3airbags, 2.0L engine
http://mitsubishi-motors.com.my/asx#gallery

honda hrv 2wd, rm115k, 6airbags, 1.8L engine.
http://www.honda.com.my/model/pricing/hrv

i've been in the backseat of ASX, & i found it to be "cramped".
hrv ultra-seat is genius.

eh, y ur father wants 4wd? if city drive, 2wd enuff oredi.
asx wont go jungle-trekking oso.
4wd offer good traction in snow or wet road condition, but here in my, we dun have snow.
i believe that ESC (electronic stability ctrl) is enuff.
& i do not sure whether asx 4wd is all-time active or just below certain speed.

just asked ur father about these points & see what's his opinion. icon_idea.gif

You need to go to the nearest JPJ office with your IC, go to the reception counter and say you want to sign up for a mySikap account.

After that everything should be self-explanatory.

Need opinions from u guys

Loan approved from pbb for hrv v spec but only 70% and it is 2.7% @ 9 years? Good or bad deal?

Banker called up at the same day where loan was approved and asked to do signing at my workplace.
I told him to make appointment on other day btw
Is it compulsory for us to do the hp signing once the loan is approved?
Asked my sa about the date of arrival of the car but he simply cannot confirm amd assure me, just said June/July

So now my main concern is whether want to do the signing onot since i dont even get an arrival date for the car and SA demands 30% downpayment once i signed on the HP agreement

Pls advise

No necessary. U may ask ur sa submit loan to another bank.
To get their quotations. Its valid for 3 months. So u may choose your own time to go sign. Nobody can force you.
Loan normally only will be sign after you know what is the real date car ready to collect. Normally 1week before. U will now.
Down-payment also will be pay 1week or less before the date u will receive car

I dont think people will change their minds.. This is a hot baby SUV.. By the way, I heard if you book any other spec than grade V. You probabaly can get it earlier. Some of the people got theirs in weeks and just upgrade the seats to full leather and mod to bigger rims. The only drawback is lesser airbags.

Yes. KIA should come in with their B Segment SUV !
If the pricing can be priced below the current HR-V S Spec. I am sure there will be alot of people have a change of heart.
KIA needs more brand awareness to solve the RV issue... competitive pricing is one of the way.

Personally I think was drawn to Sportage when they first release it but kinda put off by the name "KIA" - Killed In Action. There's so many names, why KIA.

No offense to users, just my personal opinion.

126,000 before insurance as compared to 118,000 HRV. CX5 is of a higher segment. Use to be 133,000 but discount 7k after gst.

Big discount to clear old stocks, preparing for new face lift launch. Do read up on CX-5 and go for test drive, every car have it's own sets of problems. Heard roof is very noisy when raining and car can be shaky reaching 80 km/h, just go read through CX-5 thread.

Read both the good and bad then weight your options. Happy hunting.

[QUOTE]

Many people have misunderstood that DRL = LED. It is not. Any light that is bright, and lights up in the daytime, is called DRL. The lower specced HRV has halogen DRL. Basically it is brake light bulb put in front.

It can be done. But beware of the lifespan of LED. It might not be able to stand the high heat of the lamp cluster. However, the average lifespan of a normal bulb for my ex-308 DRL is only around 4-5 months.

Yes. KIA should come in with their B Segment SUV !
If the pricing can be priced below the current HR-V S Spec. I am sure there will be alot of people have a change of heart.
KIA needs more brand awareness to solve the RV issue... competitive pricing is one of the way.
*
RV has improved a lot ever since KIA launched the Forte sometime back in circa 2009/2010, backed by the 5 years unlimited mileage warranty. But public perception still has some way to go, but it has certainly improved over the years.

QUOTE(Xccess @ Apr 4 2015, 06:55 PM)
Personally I think was drawn to Sportage when they first release it but kinda put off by the name "KIA" - Killed In Action. There's so many names, why KIA.

No offense to users, just my personal opinion.
*
That term was obviously coined by SA of a Jap make, notably from T brand that bragged theirs as "The One You Only Trust Always" Surely, you can't let that influence your decision making of getting a car? The name KIA actually means "rising out of Asia"

LED do not give up heat like halogen. As such lamp cluster with LED should be cool.
talking from V spec perspective the head lamps are all LED so no issue with LED DRL as well.

Yes. But they are talking about installing LED DRL bulb in place of the original halogen DRL bulb in S and E spec. The heat from the dipped beam will caused the retrofitted LED DRL bulb to die fast.

Ya...I'll proceed to pay balance by next week and I noticed most of the buyer booked in Feb is getting their car in April... how about yours? You booked in Jan? What is your colour? You may direct your SA to this forum and question him/her on your delivery. smile.gif

I guess most of us have the same thought. I saw two guys changed from HRV to CX-5. Just above this few comments another person changed.

The CX-5 is still not the facelift right? My only problem is that the new facelift coming out by this year. sad.gif

Hi

I think the mid-spec CKD CX-5 is a run for the money, with the RM7K discount after GST, 2.0 Skyactiv engine, top-up abit to upgrade to leather seats, its still only a 10K premium over the high spec HR-V. Kinda no brainer (if you could bury the thoughts of RV) to get it.

HRV is B Segment SUV, CX-5 is C segment.
what do you think?
To me, the pro for HRV is the brake hold functions, keyless entry (both cars have push start, but CX5 low spec no keyless entry), better legroom, touch screen.
For CX-5, better platform (i drive old model mazda 6 before, platform is really nice, CX-5 should be the same), higher view, bigger size, better outlook (my cup of tea), and bigger boot.

Mazda is clearing Cx5 old stock n the facelift is coming out soon...so take resell value into consideration as well. HRV is still worth to wait.....wait for 6 months and you can enjoy this 'new design' few years mah...😄

Despite being considered early bird order, I have waited for 3 months for this baby. Just want to know if its really worthwhile as I saw many HR-V owners complaining about the build quality and many flaws here and there. Pretty concerned about this factor. So if die die care about the RV, then there isn't many other choices.

RV and SUV only?

If not you can consider Altis. If SUV only then no choice either upgrade to CRV or CX5

my body frame is quite big and i can say its not overly spacious but still consider ok compare with mazda which are known for tight spaces.
just dont expect too much from it if you compare with other higher end suv

The space for HRV justify my needs, all these while I'm hunting for compact SUV cars. I don't want it to be too big a size till I have problem squeezing into tight parking lot.

Get a car that fits your requirement.

Judging the sales and demand for HRV, other brands have to make adjustment in order to gain market share. Waiting the release of Mazda CX-3 to see how much impact it can cause. I have seen a yellow/mustard color Ford Ecosport heading to KLIA, quite refreshing but doubt the design and look can last, design somehow reminds me of Rav4, very sporty.

CX-3 will be a HR-V top contender. Even CX-5 can attack HR-V at the high spec front.

I don't think CX-3 pricing will move so near to CX-5 mid spec. If they want to steal waiting customers for HR-V they need to make it 120k or lower.

The CX-3 design more modern compare to HRV. I m sure if both OTR you would probably pay more attention on CX-3.

the cx-3 have very poor rear space so if you plan to use it as family car, its not ideal. the boot is also far smaller and the loading level is much higher.

the cx-5 is attractive but then it is a 2012 model and the facelift is otw so at most it should be replaced in 2yrs time while the hrv still have another 2-3yrs before facelift and 4-5yrs before full model change. the cx-5 specs is impressive but for me the interior is not as modern as the hrv and space is comparable although the cx-5 is one segment higher.

the cx-3 have very poor rear space so if you plan to use it as family car, its not ideal. the boot is also far smaller and the loading level is much higher.

forgot to add, after sales and parts availability plays an important part in enjoying your vehicles and so far HM is pretty ok for selected SC (like sumber auto or kah puchong but i'll avoid the glenmarie one biggrin.gif).

The CX-3 design more modern compare to HRV. I m sure if both OTR you would probably pay more attention on CX-3.

yes bro...in term of design...could not comment much...
even Proton Juara also people buy..hihi...
But interior not really nice for HRV...

I like HRC parking break...just like passat... hihi smile.gif

yah I vouch for the bolded words. SA over damn LCLY and the service... dont even bother.

As for parts yes Honda parts are all CKD so you could get it cheaper compare to Mazda so in terms of servicing HM wins

I once waited more than 3 months for my absorbers to be changed for Mazda. doh.gif

Don't really care for facelift, as long as buy the car you like.
To me, current CX-5 outlook is still pretty good.

That's good news. At least HRV buyers can jump ship within the 7 months period if there is better offer from other car manufactures. HRV is not the only car in the market.
Also, if one is torn between HRV and cx5 GL now, 7 months waiting for HRV V spec helps to make decision easier. biggrin.gif

You need to go to the nearest JPJ office with your IC, go to the reception counter and say you want to sign up for a mySikap account.

After that everything should be self-explanatory.

I have register an account online for MySikap.

I doubt the heat will cool down. The last time a "hot" car with record bookings the heat can last for at least 1 year plus.

HR-V owners, please share your FC.

Here's mine:

Plus highway KL-JB
100% highway, controlled acceralation, maintain 110km/h.
FC=16.1km/l

Eastcoast highway Ajil-Karak
90% highway, controlled acceralation, maintain 110km/h.
FC=14.9km/l

The difference in FC probably due to the terrain of the highway and the 10% driving in the city traffic.

17km/l is only possible if the car travelling from higher ground to lower ground eg. Genting Sempah to Gombak Toll plaza. Flat road highway, can managed max 16+Km/l only.
City road depend on traffic and how often you brake and acceralate. Can achieve 14km/l consider very good already.

Highway = 23km (MEX highway) : 90km/h - 110km/h (Off ECON mode)
City/village = 32km : 60km/h - 80km/h (On ECON mode)

I just reset and retried this morning due to refill petrol with RON95.

Total = 55km, FC = 18km/l

That's what my meter shows blush.gif

Just service for 1000 km.

2 WEEKS car.

Inform on the wind sound on driver side window area while driving around 60-80km/h.

Power window on front passenger side faulty, not function

SA & Technician had identified the sound issue and inform need more time to identified the faulty due to insufficient time & labour. Puasa ma..

Will send in again to solve this issue on next appointment

Power window issue solve due to loose socket. Others had checked all over.

Overall still ok ^^

Better go tint by yourself. For rm2500 you will get very good tint one. If u ask your sa to do it for you, most probably you will get tint lower grade tint for that price. It happened to me. Now have to do it again.. sigh..

This is a good car. Comfort & easy to drive

Minor minor issue i'm fine. Must b able to solve biggrin.gif

Once u know all the major major issues that had happened on most of the continental car, you will b glad that u had bought this car biggrin.gif

So what is your next service mileage? Did you change engine/lubricant oil or anything?
The service center I went to, they told me to service at 10000km but booklet has it at 3000km icon_question.gif
Is the new car with new full synthetic lubricant oil, no longer with mineral oil?

Better go tint by yourself. For rm2500 you will get very good tint one. If u ask your sa to do it for you, most probably you will get tint lower grade tint for that price. It happened to me. Now have to do it again.. sigh..

That is a very common salesman's trick. That car is probably your allocation. The salesman trying to songlap your RM1k. Call Honda Malaysia to check your allocation and tell the salesman you want to cancel the booking instead.

Different ppl have different taste. If everyone like the same thing then Honda wont be bother to create a few color right?

You could actually offer half of it or less to other SA to get you jump queue though. Its unethical but that is life. Money talks

Dear all,
For the lowest spec, it doesn't have the leather seat right?

what if I want to install the leather, will Honda install it by themselves
or will they asked a 3rd party?

If 3rd party, will it void the Honda guarantee?

I call Honda they said around RM3K to install the leather!! is it normal from outside?

thank you very much

Should be 3rd party but your SA will help you get it installed before delivery. I'm doing the same thing for mine, opting for DK Schweizer.

I was quoted RM3k for full leather. Everything except the dashboard and steering wheel. GST is an additional RM180. Now the headache is trying to choose a nice color. SA recommended red with black stictching as it gives good contrast with ruse. Waifu pressuring me to go for maroon and ask if we can do dual-tone. sweat.gif

I booked HRV-E spec Ruse Black beginning of July. The SA called yesterday telling i will get my unit by end of this month smile.gif Thats tempting.

July production is 3060 unit
August production is 1860 unit

The trend will maintain near to 2000 unit till end of the year.

Better to go for the V as you get 6 airbags. These days people beat the lights like bodoh only, you don't want to be caught without side airbags when that happens. If that doesn't bother you then go for the S, every other accessory can be purchased third party for lesser than what Honda charges.

Depends on where you are. Group purchase freebies from Jalan Imbi.

* Door Visors
* Rebate 1K
* Full Tank
* Trunk Tray
* Raytech security tint discount

If you are interested then PM me for SA contact. I'll suggest you do your own comparison by asking other dealers too.

Quite a few had changed to 0-20W or 0-30W during 1K, existing EO that came out already very dark so it's up to individual whether they want to wait till 10K. I've changed mine during 3K to 0-20W, smoother engine and quieter.

Hi! Got my HRV last month and now with mileage 1300K.
From LDP(no jam) + Karak highway til Pahang FC = 15KM/L with no hard acceleration.
50% Highway + 50% city(no jam but lot of traffic lights) = 11.5KM/L

Overall I'm satisfy with this ride, just not that happy with few things:
-the rear suspension very bumpy. But I understand this is SUV and cannot compare with sedan that I owned before, so have to accept it smile.gif
-steering too light for me.
-when crossing road bump, sound from front suspension like some thing is loose.

I would like to check with members here if you know of experienced below:
1)when the engine start from cold, there will be a little 'gok gok' sound from engine, is this normal?
2)when the engine start from cold, when I press the accelerator padel hard and release it(with no gear), there will be 'za za' sound from engine when the RPM going down, is this normal?
3)A/C is blowing inconsistently. SC told me this is due to the compressor kick in and utilize the power but when I turn off the A/c and leaving the fan on, same issue. Fan is blowing stronger some times especially when car speed going down. I notice my friend's City also like this, is this normal for Honda?
4)The day I take the car, the sales guy told me no issue to press hard on the accelerator padel and I used a lot hard foot until reach 150kmh because of rushing back from KL to Pahang. Will this can damage the engine? I saw this from the menu after that where it's different from what the sales guy said. Any comment?
5)Any one here know what's the URL for HRV Malaysia forum?
6) Is adding padel lock and OBD lock without cutting the wire void the warranty? SC Puchong unable to give me a direct answer...

rear bumper = 1200, excluded paint & installation
1 front lamp = 1000 (S spec)
1 set rear lamp = 1800

For time being,,, changing the head unit with add on the mirror links will connect the App's at smart phone like the waze!!!

1) Auto headlights are annoying, it won't go off before 8am clear morning, and comes on and off while driving through some shaded area. Too sensitive. I suspect my tint is affecting the sensor. No way to off the auto mode while driving.

2) The sound insulation of the rear liftgate is very poor, exterior noise seems to come from the rear all the time. My problem again?

Other than those annoying bits, hrv is a great car

Wondering how you guys calculate the fuel consumption whether from full tank until the fuel tank light comes on or until the fuel tank is empty? In manual book stated from the light comes on til empty tank can still go about 70km..

Beside the 6 airbags, if push start engine, digital climate control and LED headlights not a must for you, then S spec is a good choice. I am S spec owner.

From the external appearance, the major differentiation between S and V is the LED DRL head lights and side mirror signal lights. The rest of the external appearances are more or less identical.
The price difference is RM19,538.71 and if your factor in the added loan interest cost over 7 years, the total cost of upgrade to V from S is around RM26k to RM27K over 7 years.

Now that you got the actual cost of upgrade and all you need now is to make your own decision. I must say that DRL head lights and the 4 extra air bags are very tempting as well.

the air bag seems to be main concern..

Btw SA told that production for s spec now slow.. focus more on v spec..

Personally I only think the airbag is worth the top-up. It's the only component that can't be added on at a cheaper price outside. laugh.gif

Still waiting on my car, SA seems to be taking his own sweet time. Loan was already approved the day before Raya. sweat.gif

Personally I only think the airbag is worth the top-up. It's the only component that can't be added on at a cheaper price outside. laugh.gif

Still waiting on my car, SA seems to be taking his own sweet time. Loan was already approved the day before Raya. sweat.gif

thanks guys.. actually really seems a lot the price difference to upgrade from s spec to v spec is the price of my trade in car.. kekkee

the air bag seems to be main concern..

Btw SA told that production for s spec now slow.. focus more on v spec..

Probably getting v then..

After driven HRV for few months, I must admit that the suspension system is a big disappointment. Kind of bouncy and head rolling. Handling speed hump is worst, got the feeling of too much up and down, not smooth as compared to other car I had driven. I complained about the "krwong" sound after driving over the speed hump and my SC acknowledged the defect and told me that they will replace the shock absorbers but need to wait for the parts from Honda Malaysia.

need to know the final price after discount or deduct voucher
cos they may give you the discount or use the voucher but on RRP pricing only
i got quoted RM2800 for 3M Crytstalline

I'm considering doing this myself. I live in an area where parking is restricted and I often have to park outside under the trees. Worried about sap/bird poop spoiling the paintwork. Currently set aside RM3k for a ceramic coating, will make my final decision once I receive my car.

Yes the headlight will turn off automatically, this function is to help you get to your house door, find your key to the door with the help of your headlight... So you will not fumble with the keys in the dark.

You can choose the default color for the ring around the meter (white/yellow/blue/red etc.) by pushing start button without pressing pedal brake (engine ON, without engine starting) & push the long stick near the meter panel to change the default color to the one that you prefer BUT when driving the default color you choose will always change to green color whenever your speed reach an economical fuel consumption.

do check out on the installation process for the bypass cable
i believe it will be different from the city/jazz because HRV only has a button for the "hand"brake

those bypass cable installed in the city/jazz seems pretty straightforward, plug and play, no wire cutting needed
as for the dongle, it's just connecting to the hdmi and usb port right?

Just got my hrv v spec.. am very much happie with the buy..

Just only installed tint.. no other accessories yet..

Am considering the below..
1. Auto speed lock
2. Auto side side mirror close.. after SA told me likely cost more than 1k to fix broken mirror.
3. Door visor
4. Wireless mirror link module with bypass.

For item 4 any recommendation guys where to get it done and based of seller I asked.. mentioned wont void HU warranty.. n its just plug n play.. is that correct?
Hope someone who installed can advise.. quite wasted the lcd if dont play video right.. probally put item 4 as priority.. else can still live with it just manual

The news was in Harian Metro on the 4th August. Currently HMSB decline suppliers to send in any parts till 10/8 for City, Jazz, HRV, Civic & CRV. 10/8 will start with HRV and followed by Jazz.

Latest info, tomorrow they will run Accord with minimum figures.

The warehouse (Nistrans) affected was meant to store all KD parts which HMSB import from overseas (Audio players, Headlamps, Electrical parts, ECU etc) Total loss was reported.

Hey guys, i find the passenger side window mirror will reflect the image of the chrome surrounding the aircon vents quite annoying, the reflection "block" alittle on side mirror especially during sunny day. Maybe due to the tint, do you guys have this issue?

looking for something about 80-100k. Look big and easy to maintain long term.

found that can get a city for about 80-85k and hrv for 98-118.

the hrv s is 98k which look alright but how does it compare to the city at 80 ?

For coating if you are in lembah kelang especially there are several choice you can choose which depend s on your budget... If your budget MORE than rm2k can try Ceramic Pro & if your budget LESS than rm2k can try Nanolex both are reputable and the choice of many hrv-ian. Just do some reading & research about the products.

The HR-V is a B-segment crossover SUV. The Civic is a C-segment sedan. Different intended use, and as such the driving characteristics such as the handling and ride are miles apart. If you're comparing based on the price point alone, then I assume you don't really care about how the car feels, in which case I'd recommend the HR-V so you can join us. laugh.gif

i'm considering hrv E spec and civic 1.8. any comment or suggestion?
*
used to drive civic 2.0 2007 FD2, satisfied. i believe new civic 1.8 is much better.
i have booked for hrv E also, said arrive 15 Aug, but now ... need to wait again. disappointed.
now im thinking should i downgrade to city in order not to wait so long again.

I read online that some versions of the HU from different countries are running Android. Anyone know what our local V-spec is running? Wanna try hack the thing to install APKs if possible.

Have you decided on your choice of coating yet? I remember you asking about Ceramic Pro and Nanolex a while back.
