I had suggested to exit Dutch Lady ... i think back in 2013.
price around 49 or so...

there were a few who did not like what I was suggesting....

c'est la vie .... smile.gif
ps: I would call a pass on all 3 at this moment....

ps:ps: I strongly detest recession resistant companies themed 'investing' ...... just not my liking tongue.gif

Thanks. I see.

Mind sharing why you said to exit DL in 2013? You saw something? Like to keep that in mind for the future.

3 major consumer product companies all dropped their earnings in 2014. Weird. Must be something significantly "wrong" to trigger that, I think.

Cheerio.

Tourism Malaysia will come to rescue Air Asia.

Anyway, we still have Malindo. If you fly to Singapore, can consider Tigerair; if you fly to Philippines, consider Cebu Airways..

too many to rescue.. 1MDB, PFI, AA, etc etc.. KWSP ada wang lagi? cry.gif

This 'debt based' business model is there from day one....
They simply leveraged to the max...
thinking that using other people's money (banks money) is the 'smart' way to build a business....

however as you and I know...
such a business model carries extreme risk....
and that you cannot leverage it to 'almost infinity' as to what AirAsia is doing now....
sooner rather later .....

it will ..................................................................

need to see the business model mah. the company is asset based company, all the assets are funded for sure.

who the h*ll will pay cash for 10-20 airbus at one time?

also, back then, airasia only has 2 aircrafts, now? of course the company will grow, so is the borrowings, no?

Of course ...this is exactly the business modal of an airline company.

Leverage, leverage and more leverage.....

Can it high continued leverage sustain forever?

Right now, already 12 billion debts in the hole...
By the time all aircrafts taken delivery...
We are looking at 90 billion plus debts...

Billion dollar leveraging....this is a national sport now?

PS: Usd 300 million bond funding?
Where all their banks?

debt is good as long as profit > interest expense
but now interest cost > profit (less demand)

thats why not good
