QUOTE(mztang52 @ Jul 30 2017, 08:47 AM) I think it's somehow their DNS problem. Their IPV6 DNS Server is immature yet and they should cache most of the websites into their IPV6 DNS server first or maybe they can use Google IPV6 DNS as backup. Currently using an 3rd party router with ipv6 enable and using Google dns, seems to work properly with no issues as far as I can't notice. Maxis should allow user to choose own dns sever and not lock it down and hardcode it into the router. This post has been edited by yongtjunkit: Jul 31 2017, 06:50 AM |

QUOTE(chrisnly @ Jul 12 2019, 04:32 PM) What router are you using If you are using maxis stock router, it should auto activate as maxis sever or someone with the name TR09( at least on Technicolor TG784n ) would configure the router for you automatically every few hours This post has been edited by yongtjunkit: Jul 12 2019, 06:20 PM |

QUOTE(chrisnly @ Jul 15 2019, 11:46 PM) I am using Asus RT-AC66U B1 currently. I thought IPV6 have to request from Maxis to activate it ? I heard that IPV6 will increase the internet speed . Right ? 1. No, you’ll need to manually configure it on your ASUS router( maxis will only configure their router ) 2. Nope, doesn’t increase internet speed, you’ll need to pay more for more speed. |

Anyone here is facing difficulties connecting to IPV4 websites? For some reason the maxis router can’t connect to any ipv4 website( including speedtest.net) but ipv6 seems to work fine( but slower)
When I try using the ASUS RT AC 68U, everything seems fine(other than VOD not working on Astro IPTV), ipv4 and ipv6 works |

QUOTE(joshhd @ Oct 18 2019, 02:31 AM) Hi guys... My area is under own Maxis Fibre network (not TM HSBB), and I'm currently on Maxis 30Mbps RM89 plan. 1. On Astro IPTV it shows maxis I have both standalone Astro and Maxis Fibre subscription. My family and I don't use Maxis for mobile. Anyone here subscribed or have any info on "Astro & Broadband" (not to be confused with Astro IPTV)? ![]() Would you guys think that it is okay to change my existing Maxis Fibre to "Astro & Broadband"? I've done my calculations, and I found that I can save quite an amount of money per month with Astro and internet service combined, compared to existing amount I pay for both standalone Maxis Fibre and Astro subscription. The info I got is, "Astro & Broadband" partnered with Maxis to provide the service, so if I make the switch: - Existing Astro STB will remain connected to satellite dish, and Maxis provided WiFi router (TP-Link Archer C5v) will remain and continue using it as it is (just like now) - Internet service itself is still from Maxis like now, but billing wise, it'll be paying to Astro. - Technical wise, the server/routing will still go to Maxis, as Astro themselves does not provide Internet service. - If there's any technical network issues, need to call Astro's IPTV department (03-9543 1543), not Maxis. - Contract 24 months, or penalty of prorated RM2400 if terminate within contract period (RM100 per remaining month). Can switch back to standalone subscription of Maxis Fibre and Astro once contract is over. - VoIP home phone service is not included. Or, pay additional RM20 monthly service fee (no unlimited calls or whatsoever) to use VoIP home phone. Billing will still be under Astro, not Maxis. Home phone number can be remained even after switching to Astro & Broadband, but no new DECT phone will be provided. (I don't mind, since I don't use home phone) My concerns is more on service support: 1) Can I expect the network quality and performance to be exactly the same as now, and won't be affected by any means, just because I'm on Astro & Broadband, and my area is under Maxis? The IP address and domain wise, will still show as "Maxis", right? 2) If there is a network issue (speed problem, some websites can't access/too slow, no Internet access at all...), is Astro be reliable enough to escalate the case to Maxis, including noting down the issues faced and arrange technician to come my house to check/fix, instead of "after making a complaint/report, few days later still no reply at all), hence expecting customers to follow up the case by contact the customer service again and again. Since my area is under Maxis own fibre network (not TM HSBB), would any technician visit appointments thereafter be the same, efficient and quick as what I have now on Maxis Fibre's service support? 3) Right now, only 30Mbps and 100Mbps speeds are offered by Astro & Broadband, yet Maxis has 300Mbps to 800Mbps packages. Should I worry that Astro & Broadband would not follow and offer same/similar package offerings by Maxis as soon as they introduces new higher speeds at lower price packages (e.g. 100Mbps for RM99/month). How long does it takes for them to provide/follow the same revised Maxis Fibre packages then? Would the history happen again where previously Astro IPTV customers had no choice but to stuck on their old 10Mbps at RM128/month plan until their 24 months contract is over, and they can choose to terminate/switch back to standalone subscription thereafter. 4) If Astro doesn't bother my complaint much on network technical issues (which to be escalated to Maxis), would Maxis would somehow try to help me if I contact them, as my last resort? Or I should just make a complaint to MCMC? I know "Astro will try their very best to solve...", but that is just "what if". --- Did I missed out anything, or anyone here has more info to share about Astro & Broadband? Thanks. 2.not too sure about the 1st part but what I know it’s you make complain to Astro then Astro makes complain to maxis... replacing fiber cable takes 2 days, ended up buying it myself and diy replace 3. Not too sure about that 4. Nope they(maxis) can’t verify your information All these is based on Astro IPTV |

QUOTE(clement5949 @ Oct 28 2019, 01:25 PM) Hi guys, just went to maxis to upgrade my plan from 100mbps to 300mbps and router is using ASUS AC68U. We upgrade at 11am and now it’s 1pm. The person told us it will be effective after 2hrs. The RT AC 68U should be able to support up to 500mbps, either the upgrade didn’t complete yet or you’ll need to restart your network equipment( router, modem)And my speed still only stays below 100mbps and on Netflix show 15.5mbps for 2160p movie So I am wondering is it my router cannot support or the upgrade haven’t done successfully? QUOTE(uhlaw @ Nov 9 2019, 10:26 AM) I have this TM modem hg8240h, only lan2 is enable, while lan1,3,4 are disable i assume. I cant access 192.168.1.1 in lan2. So what is the actual guideline to acess webUI? The modem does not have DHCP enabled so you’ll need to set a static IP on your pc Try setting the static Ip to 192.168.100.xxx And then try opening the web browser and go to 192.168.100.1 to access the web ui for the modem Not too sure if this method works on your modem as mine is Huawei HG8240 modem Also usually the modem can be left alone, is there any reason to login to the modem? Keep in mind that TM/maxis(on maxis infra) can remotely reconfigure the modem and undo all your changes( unless you reset it ) *reconfigure the modem at your own risk, make sure to backup the modem settings before making any changes This post has been edited by yongtjunkit: Nov 9 2019, 07:23 PM |

QUOTE(hjack @ Feb 8 2020, 01:35 PM) Noticed my C5V router was upgraded to 191212 firmware recently. 5GHZ is less congested than 2.4ghz, and is required to achieve speeds like 100mbps other than using EthernetI disable the 5Ghz wifi, left only 2.4. After restart the router, the 5Ghz will automatically be enable back. Before this upgrade it stays disable. I dont need the 5Ghz band and aim to reduce radio pollution but this is annoying. Have logged a tic to Maxis. If all of your devices support 5GHZ then switch off 2.4ghz better Btw got things like microwave, cordless phone which contributes to 2.4ghz congestion...... QUOTE(hjack @ Feb 9 2020, 10:10 PM) 30Mbps line in a 2 stories link house, I prefer range more than speed. 🤔, as far as I know, maxis can remote into your router.... maybe that’s the reason why and I don’t think you can stop it as it’s most likely by their severIf i do large file transfer via intranet, yes will enable the 5Ghz. Maxis techie called 2 times, the issue is not recurring though. This post has been edited by yongtjunkit: Feb 9 2020, 10:14 PM |
