Do take a look at lowyat's unifi thread thou...seems like their routing is going boom again

What examples do you have? I had many many issues with UNIFI and with maxis it is so much less

Are you using the default maxis router? Are you on public or private ip?

My contract with Maxis is almost ending, early March, to be precise. Currently paying RM 129 for 500Mbps (upgraded from 300Mbps). By the time comes, I will apply for UniFi and hoping Maxis will counter offer me because I really don't want to setup all over again...

I don't mind RM 129 for 300Mbps because I'm only using it alone, so 300Mbps is more than enough for me alone. I just want to pay RM 129 or lesser.

I'm due to travel next week and will manage this when I come back from trip. Yes, I'm going to pay 149 in March, hopefully pro-rated if I can get it all sorted before next statement.

Anyone got counter offered by them recently?

i had to contact their fibre support (live chat through whatsapp) yesterday and they told me to do a wifi test from the Maxis app, it failed at 74%. After that they told me to do another speedtest with 5Ghz wifi and the speed is back to normal with 400+ Mbps. I'm not sure what they did but its fixed now and they told me to monitor. This morning the speed is also normal. Hoping it doesnt fall below 20 Mbps again tonight or any time this week because i'm on standby duty and need a reliable internet connection 

I think after my contract expires in a few days later, my plan gonna be RM 149 for 500Mbps. I don't think they will reduce my speed to 300Mbps after my contract expires? I'm sure they will increase the price from RM 129 to RM 149.

OK, here's an update for my case. I called Maxis, and this number, 1800-82-1230, no longer exists. We have to call 1800-82-1123 now. Let CS know about your transfer ID, and they will create a report for a callback.

So, I got a counter-offer from Maxis for RM 129 for 300Mbps, free for 8 months and tied with a 24-month contract. After the contract period, my account will remain at RM 129 for 300Mbps.

He can also offer me RM 89 for 100Mbps, but 100Mbps seems too little, and I'm comfortable with 300Mbps.

Initially, he told me my package is RM 149 for 500Mbps forever. I told him I didn't need the speed; I could reduce it to 300Mbps as that's the package I registered with UniFi.

Anyway, long story short, I'm staying back with Maxis. I prefer it this way.

Update: Immediately my speed is reduced to 300Mbps now. From the free upgrade 500Mbps. I just checked on Speedtest.

It's more or less the same as TM. People have to ask for SWU only they will give, some got it when they threaten to port out. Both providers learn from each other trying to grab customer every 2 years.

No problem. I got a free upgrade to 100Mbps/RM89, and I still got 12 months to go for the original 30Mbps/RM89 contract. You can try & get the transfer id from Unifi. After sharing the transfer id with Maxis, they'll ask you to pay the remaining contracts at the Maxis store. Act dumb & say will try to find free time go. Then, wait for a couple of days. Someone from Maxis fiber will contact & help to upgrade to 100Mbps/RM89 (as per new instruction from the government). Good luck.
