an interesting observation.

saw an old lady probably 60s topping up 5k for her ASW while another makcik in her 40s was planning to topup her ASD.

meanwhile a young man probably in his 30s withdrew 2k from his AS1M
*
well I guess the old lady & makcik give importance to savings & also don't know anything about the upcoming changes in FP ASx.

as for the young man, he could be using the $$ to sustain his expensive lifestyle or paying for something (maybe buying new Iphone laugh.gif )

for ASB, in out in out no problem.

try withdraw 6 figures, from your ASx, system slowla, why what where questions come out, from the officer sitting behind. then comes the withdrawal limits 25k per day. finally settled with 100k out a day. judging by the looks of the officers (as if i am taking money out of their personal pocket).
*
u withdraw from banks or ASNB office? hmm.gif

well I cannot tell much..

but what I know is branch are imposing the so-called limit because some KPI thingy.. each branch needed to have some level of $$ "parked" under their branch. if everyone start to withdraw big amount from the branch, the level of fund under the branch would drop. thus effecting their branch KPI.

I think also got to do with some new banking "standard".. basel 3 or something rclxub.gif

also they also needed to achieve some sales of their FD, Investment or any other products. it's also related to KPI thingy blush.gif

I don't think whyee is scare-mongering too. He is merely posting what he experienced. Tq to whyee.

NO problem at all in my activity.

For the helpful forummers here who carry a view that the ASM is still viable, please visit your branches asap if you wished to top-up or open booklet. I have made some divestments !

Good luck.

Yeah,... I do think the ones who are still confident can go buy now. I believe you can even call out your desired amount in tens of thousands, eg 80K or 90K units. Surely can get.

But how long will this last, I'm not sure.

Another reason for divesting is I've spotted some coming opportunities across the causeway. Hence.. preparing my bullets now to go for instruments with a higher yield and with lower systemic risks.

Bear in mind that unit trust is bleeding now due to bad economy. As far as I know, ASW2020 still give good returns. Many people lose money by simply following agent advise. Agent only care about commission. Each transcation you do through them, they earn 2% regardless you make a loss or profit.

like the previous post by [Ancient]-XinG- tongue.gif

And yet, you don't see ASX bleeding yet. Wonder could it be their reserve or "don't worry, be happy"? If is their reserve, how many rounds can their reserve last? 5 years or only 2 years?
*
I guess should be reserve nod.gif

how long can last? I'm not sure leh hmm.gif

the 5bil is not for direct sales. it's for future dividend units reinvested.

we can only buy those dividend units reinvested that have been sold yawn.gif

so assume 17bil, divvy 6.4sen.

so only 1.08 bil units of divvy we can buy, if everyone sold it tongue.gif

so now would be 18.08 bil units only we can buy (if everyone sold), not 22bil units

i thought already reach maximum fund size a long time ago. the fund size only increase yearly due to dividend reinvestment. meaning, say the max fund size was 10 bil units last time. then over the years after the dividend reinvestment, the fund size became 22 bil units. then along the way, people sold 5 billion units. so now 5 bil units available?

then if let's say now all 22 bil units sold, then next year, the fund size will increase by the percentage of dividend say about 6% and total units will then become about 23 bil units?
*
which year it became 22bil? rclxub.gif

2010 - 13.1 billion
2011 - 13.94 billion
2012 - 14.85 bilion
2013 - 15.8 billion
2014 - 16.892 billion

for past 5 year, it never go above 20bil mark nod.gif

According to http://www.asnb.com.my/v3_/asnbv2_2funds_EN.php#asw2020

the approved fund size is 21.983 billion units?
*
what I trying to say is for past 5 years the units in circulation didn't go beyond 20bil mark, NOT approved fund size didn't go above 20bil mark blush.gif

lol. referred to the official website only. odd number of total fund size i would say. "Saiz Tabung 21.983 bilion unit." In that case means once it reaches 22 bil, they cannot further give out dividend in units and have to give out cash?

http://www.asnb.com.my/ASW.php#produk
*
well it's depend on SC approval.. normally they give for fund size to increase nod.gif

yes bro. i understand what u mean.

just trying to say it's an odd number of approved fund size 21.983 bilion unit. AS1M has 14 bil. ASB2 has 10 bil. so i just thought it came to that weird number due to expansion of fund due to dividend.
*
the odd number could be because SC gave approval for it to be like that tongue.gif
