QUOTE(Ramjade @ Jul 30 2015, 08:45 PM) Can wo. Or else how the clerk told me you are too late. There was a transaction before you who bought rm30k one shot. We were buying from Banks or ASNB? If the MBB I went can do it, no reason for the dealer to keep trying multiple times, can actually done in one transaction. Also, once I asked for rm5k for ASM, told me only got rm3500. Not sure how it works |

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Aug 1 2015, 11:04 PM) Want to ask, why is it ASX is not considered a higher form of FD? Yearly it have given returns of 6.6 guaranteed. Apart from giving better returns than fd, ASX can be withdrawn any working time and u only lose the div for the withdrawal month. I take it as a good parking place while waiting for other better investment.Although it is not covered by PIDM, nevertheless it is still considered safe investment as your principal will not depreciate in value. |

QUOTE(Ancient-XinG- @ Aug 2 2015, 07:07 AM) Once parked very reluctant to sell cos hard to buy back. That's why lost opportunity during the 20o8 crisis. When retire I will take out a portion which even at total lost would not affect my retirement plan but if win big can spend off the winnings. This post has been edited by MGM: Aug 2 2015, 04:03 PM |

With the KLSE & Rm going downhill, hope that AS1M & ASW still give >6% dividend this year.

Between Oct97 to May99 KLSE was below 750 and hit rock bottom in Aug98 at 300. ASB which was launched in 1990 and ASW in 1996 still surivive until now and the prices still fix at RM1. Was the situation then better than now?
When I am free I would redirect all the negative comments to ASNB to seek their answers for peace of mind. This post has been edited by MGM: Aug 18 2015, 03:57 PM |

QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Aug 18 2015, 03:58 PM) During financial crisis in 2007/2008, ASNB oso maintain the Fixed price fund @ RM1/unit n withstand the Selling pressure That crisis was short, and the bottom of 900 lasted only 4 months (oct2008-feb2009), after that another 6 months KLSE reached 1200.After goin thru 2 major crisis, m confident tat ASNB will ride thru current 'storm' calmly |

QUOTE(ikanbilis @ Aug 18 2015, 10:34 PM) If our gomen can freeze $4.5b of CLOB shares during the Asia crisis, there is nothing our current gomen under Emperor Ajib cannot do. Freezing of ASx withdrawal? Sap sap sui only lah... Like that everything is possible, so have u liquidated everything in Malaysia (in case locked by the Emperor), and get YOUR FUNDS out of the country? If not what r u waiting for? This post has been edited by MGM: Aug 19 2015, 09:49 AM |

QUOTE(ikanbilis @ Aug 18 2015, 11:13 PM) Why so defensive? I'm just providing an alternative discussion whether you should put all eggs into one basket? Why do you think the ASx just a month ago it's almost impossible to top up, nowadays many people can open all new ASx account easily? Not being defensive lah, just feel that u sounds like nothing is worth investing in Malaysia and everything is controlled by the Emperor.Since you ask, I'm currently working in the States, my assets are spread in 3 countries U.S.30%, Spore 30% and M'sia 40%. I'm working on it to be 4:4:2 in the near future. Everyone can learn to diversify their portfolio, you don't have to use the famous quote kalau tak suka, keluar lah... U still got 40% in Malaysia, what type of investments and these investments not locked by the Emperor? Every investment has its risk, there are ASx sellers and willing buyers, I am quite sure some are using ASx as a 'parking' account and are selling as they see current market turmoil as a chance to DIVERSIFY (including to other countries). Some who previous MISS the chance to buy ASx is taking this opportunity to buy to DIVERSIFY as there are lots of units available now maybe because of this type of -ve comments ( Are u taking this opportunity too This post has been edited by MGM: Aug 19 2015, 09:54 AM |

QUOTE(dreamer101 @ Aug 19 2015, 02:07 AM) MGM, I meant to say "Every investment has its risks, there are ASx sellers and willing buyers, I am quite sure some are using ASx as a 'parking' account and are selling as they see current market turmoil as a chance to DIVERSIFY to other countries (thru local unit trusts agents like FSM, at least for me)".Come on. 20+% of your gross income is in EPF that invest in GLCs and Malaysia Government Bond. ASx is investing in the same set of GLCs and Malaysia Government Bond. In summary, a typical Malaysian investor enjoy no DIVERSIFICATION when they invest in ASx. The best performing ASx under PNB is ASB. http://1-million-dollar-blog.com/dividends...ham-bumiputera/ The dividend had been trending down from 14 sens in 1990 to 8.5 sens in 2014. Dreamer I actually bought AS1M easily when it was first launched in 2009 n by 1/10/15 comes with a gain of 46%, KLSE in Aug2009 was ~1180. On hindsight there are some better investments than this. To me the problem with ASx investments is one tend to be lazy to look for other investment once invested cos it is very diff to buy back. This post has been edited by MGM: Aug 19 2015, 10:27 AM |
