OMG , I was just top up ASM 25k, should I diversified (spread it to invest in as1m and ASW)? Instead of putting all egg in one basket?[attachmentid=4827829]
*
That's a good catch, were you able to buy all at one try, or in multiple transactions over a period of time ? And if your reply is of the former, when did this purchase take place ?

could be some pipu panicking & withdraw all b4 the dateline after reading all the reply  sweat.gif
*
I certainly hoped not so,... why ? Becos if there is panic in the streets and people start withdrawing, the VOA will drop further. Unless the VOA has been very high previously and can withstand all these withdrawals, mass withdrawals will likely bring the VOA too far down, hence causing the gap with RM1.00 to be too big, negatively...

There are many readers out there monitirng these threads. But we don't have the stats on the effects created by this website.

Yes.. i think we are still the minority here to talk about those fine prints..
*
The other thing we need to be aware of in today's days of social media advent and penetration is : words and news travel faster from source downwards to the multiple layers and 'food-chains'. A person does not need to know of this stuff we have discussed by reading directly on this thread. News will reach him as time goes by. And we have ample time here before Dec 31.

Not bad.

Maybe around 5.5% for 2016 in view of the gloomy global economy.
*
Looks like impacting all sectors of our income instrumnts. Dropping from 6.40% to a possibility of 5.50% next yr,... However, if everything remains as FP, the rate would still be higher than Msian FD rates. So, no reason to sell yet.

Yes, i sure agreed with that..

The most important thing is that it should continue its FP status, so as long as it is better than FD, no point to sell..

I believe AS1M would be announcing and declaring the same amount of dividend..
*
But must understand this product very well, and keep updating ourselves with the latest news. In the back of our head, we must always remind ourselves that this is still NOT an FD scheme.

I think the fund manager already took some profit early of the year when market is kinda "good"  nod.gif

next year divvy that I'm worried about..

the lowest is 6.30sen in 2009  ohmy.gif
*
KLCI was very much worse back in 2008 compared to now.

you're right - I too am more concerned about the divvy next year because of the effects from FY 2015/2016. FY2014/2015 is not really that bad...yet,because 2014 gave us some cushion.

Edit : extra comments.

In fact, v shld look at EPU when measure future payout
*
Generally, EPU for a fund, be it Equities or Balanced would drop if mkt is bad. Bond Fund, may or may not drop,... because investors may plow their money into Bonds and Bond Funds when equities are bad.

EPU (aka earnings per unit) is to measure the ability to generate profits based on available capital
*
Aware that EPU = Earnings per Unit of a specified fund. To me, I was commenting on the EPU with the basis of the EPU being a numerical figure (in RM for PNB) of the total amount of earnings of a fund at the cutoff date of a complete Financial Year divided by the number of units in issue as of the cutoff date.

If u noticed, their EPU is on declining trend over the years
Tis is a big challenge for ASNB as they need to generate sufficient returns to maintain Dividend @ 6% mark
*
Tks Wil,.. I have not compared, so this is good news for me. BY the way, just a hypothesis here, wouldn't you say that the Retained Earnings per UNit (from previous years) + the Current Year Earnings per UNit - the Dividend Payout per UNit = the Net Asset Value per UNit of a fund.

WE can find out the Retained Earnings per Unit from the yearly press conference held for dividend ann't.

WE can find out the Current Year EPU and the Current Year DPU from the AR.

Then we would be able to decipher the NAV per Unit as at the cutoff date !

Any other factors involved besides what I have indicated in the abve ?

Mass Withdrawal - if an ann't is made should the implementation of FP comes true, wouldn't there be mass withdrawal too ? Say, if change of FP to VP for one fund only,... the mass withdrawal effect due to that one 'announced fund' may 'kill' PNB, or at the very least,... cripple PNB a little bit. I am sure there will be spillover effects to the other FP funds too, whereby holders of the other FP funds, perhaps not ASB and ASB2,... ill also start to do a withdrawal run on their respective funds.

Frankly, I wonder how will PNB be able to prevent the exodus of funds from happenng once they have made the ann't, unles they limit the number of days fro people to withdraw, say like : those who would like to withdraw would be given 48 hours to withdraw, and after the 48 hours, the FP funds not withdrawn will turn nto VP units. So, they will limit the number of people who are able to make withdrawals and lock-out all those who did not manage to do so.

Yes, if one is one the conservative view type, and understanding fully-well that ASX is NOT FD, one must understand all these exposures. Otherwise, do not blame anyone if one loses money !

Replying nexona and Ramjade,... perhaps what I wish to say is : it will be too late, yes, too late for unitholders if an ann't is to appear, which may trigger a mass withdrawal. PNB will NOT let a mass withdrawal cripple them. They have to protect themselves and at the same time, ASB and ASB2, due to political reasons. ....

What to expect.. the fear is in the air right now. risk of change from FP to VP have create much more impact / panic than the previous 1Mxx issue  sweat.gif
*
It is okay to say it all out and lay everything on the table, lest should we be wrong in our decision,... at least we are aware that we have tried our best ! Because, as we talk and brainstorm, new opinions emerge and we can have betterideas on how to circumvent this problem.

Having sad the above, for this who are confident of the FP schemes staying put for another three years or even for eternity into the very far future, they should ignore all these comments.
