i also got one syrian, i think 6 months old gua.....I like syrian also coz its bigger and easy to catch and cuddle. But the problem is, they r very very very smelly lah......
And their long fur always got wood bedding tanggled to it, every time handle him need to remove them carefully.....

I have a syrian, 2 WWs, 2 campbells, 2 gerbils,
Before that i had another 2 WWs, but i give them to my gf's mum already since she loves them, the little story :

I bought the 2 WW from the pet shop, i ask for 2 females. I myself had keep them for 1 month +, then only give them to her. The problem is....on the early morning of 1st January 2007, she call my gf and told her that the WW had 3 babies!!!! I was like WTF!!! i thought both of them are females, now only i know they r diff sex.....Now the male is separated liao, later when the pups are weaned, the son will stay with dad and daughter will stay wif mum......
But I thought usually hamsters give birth to 5 or more pups, but mine only 3 pups......ok or not?

how u know its dying? wat symptom? got disease or wat??

Just my opinion, the easiest to be tamed will be WW. For my WW, whenever i put my hand into the tank, they'll automatically hold my hand and climb up to my palm, very very cute, and they never bite me, nib abit got lah....
For syrian....I bought a young syrian and keep him for around 3 months liao. At first when i catch him, he will run like hell and squeek squeek.......After a month, no more squeek, but until now, still run away whenever i put my hand into the tank. But still, nvr bite me b4, not even nib.......
For my campbell....worst...when young, nib a bit, now adult liao, (4 months) nib a lot!!!can consider bite liao, pain but haven draw blood (yet).

All the hamsters above i handle them daily. This is just for my case, how about others???

haha, not all my hamster like that, Only the one of the male WW and male RC will do like that. very lazy leh.....When they do like that, i always poke their tummy with my finger, but they lazy to layan me, just continue eating...........

Ur syrian store food in his pouch ah? Mine is diff. My WW and RC store food in their pouch, but my syrian boy will store food in his food bowl, haha.....
Every time i hand feed him, he will grab stuff everything in his mouth, then run back to the food bowl and put all the food there......

Not all hamster i think. for my WW and RC, only stuff their pouch, and jalan-jalan like a fur ball. Din keep the food at one place, only in the mouth. Some more haven finish the food, but wanna keep asking for more!!

I have 2 batches of pups, but intend to keep the first batch. If anyone interested can pm me also. i got xtra 7( 2nd batch) to let go. But need to wait another one month, since they just 4 days old, haha.......
Wat is nice is that the first batch mummy still recognise me, whenever i put my hand inside the tank, it will sniff sniff and climb on my palm. Then later the pups will follow,

how u know ur syrian "tha part" has infection? bcoms redish? fur shedding? swollen? blood?

yup, more chubby than WW, but the problem is, they mostly bite!!!!
Like mine, if u put ur hand into their tank, they'll run towards my hand and .......u know wat happen lah. So everytime i handle my RCs, i'll scoop them up with a cup, then only let them climb onto my palm. In this case they won bite. Dunno y lah, mayb bcoz not in their territory gua......

my RCs stay with me for 6 months liao. I everyday play with them since the first day i bought them at 1 month of age.....Both of them now become furball liao.
When on my hand, they very nice one, but wont stay still lah of course, can squeeze, squash, poke, tickle.......
But to put them on the hand is a problem, cannot directly scoop them up from the tank, must use cup, weird is it?? hahaha............

i just bought a packet of prestige to try out, the food inside looks good, but my hammies seems dun like it. I think they prefer super premium......Prestige expensive lah, RM17.50.....Or will Sluis be better(although expensive also)?

MY WW and campbell like sand bath wor, especially my fat RC boy, whenever i put him on the sand, he will dig dig dig fast, then rub his back on the sand. HE just love to do it.

so fast can see the genital??? post some pics focusing on that part!!! Because wat i do is only looking at the distance between the anal and the sex organ, further means male, nearer means female. But the problem is, the 1st batch of mine, 4 of them has the same distance ......hai..........hard to identify
