Hi All,

Ketosis Diet or known as Atkin Diet was kinda famous out there but cant really find much info or log about this type of diet in this forum.

Since I'm following this diet as experiment, why not i write down my progress and share it to the people who may interest to this subject.

I will try to update daily and my report will be consists of:

Body Weight:
Daily Food Intake:
How do I feel today?:

I measure my Body Weight every morning around 7~710 after I have my 1st pee. I don't have a Body Analyzer myself, so what I can provides is only my total Body Weight. My sister have one thou, but i only go there every bi-weekend. Maybe I will try to record that down too every 2 weeks.

Besides diet, I did 20~30 mins free weight training 3~5 days a week depends on my work schedule.

Cheers mate, peace

***EDIT***

Thought I may lose my muscle and nutrition on the way of the diet, so I did take FOOD SUPPLEMENT daily to replace what I have been lack of. Which is,
BLACKMORE MULTIVITAMINS + MINERALS
BLACKMORE BUFFERED VITAMINS C
21th CENTERY BCAA (Prevent muscle lose and for tissue repair)

How do I feel?:
It was the toughest week i ever had in my life so far. Feels freaking weak, mouth dry all the time. Besides that, feels very unfocused and feels sick. Its like I catch a flu and going to have a very high fever soon. But the feeling starting to fades away after the 1st weekend. What I feeling now is dried in throat. Other than that? not anymore, at least not that worse anymore.

Although i shaded some weight this week but nothing has changes in my appearance and my waist. So It can be assume that, most of is are just WATER WEIGHT and GLUCOSE inside my blood.

81Kg

Daily Food Intake:

Morning - Boiled Egg, Fried Egg, Fishballs x3
Afternoon - Tofu, Boiled Egg, Spinach, Taiwanese Sausage

Getting better, but mouth still dry.

You might aware I did take a lot of fat. That is because I pump fat at my beginning stage so that I wont feels so hungry with the absent of sugar and carbs.

Since I starting to feels better now, I will start to cut FAT intake and increase PROTEIN from now on, slowly, step by step.

1. Take your weight after you poop instead of pee. Your poop might be 1kg of weight.

2. Your food intake is too vague. No amounts of total calorie, amount of carb taken. How we would know that you consume carbs as per atkin diet recommendation?

3. You didn't specify how much your daily calorie requirement and how much calorie deficit you have for each day. How would you know that you consume more than what your body burn? End up you'll be blaming this diet for your failed experiment.

4. Fats are your source of energy, not protein. If you consume little fat, where does your body get the energy?

5. I really think that you need to learn more about keto diet / atkin in order to run this experiment.

1. I did aware of that, but thats the only thing I cant control my body to do so. Even thou I eat a lot of fibers like how I did last time, doesnt mean I can poop like u said, everyday.

2. Thats one of the thing I wan to make sure. I wan to make sure the "no carbs can help u cut weight even higher calories intake" is a myth or not. So in this stage I not really care yet as long as I get my carbs in low level. Plus, If the weight still dropping after some time, tat means, i'm under my calories intake, right? According to the calculator I found on the internet, what I need to sustain my weight is 2533 Cals a day. And from the Vague calculation with the assist of internet ofcoz, I'm still under that with current food intake (about 1700~2000 Cals a day).

3. Its ok if its fail. because people improved from day to day. so do knowledge. As long as I'm not arrogant enough, I can still adjust my plan tru time.

4. Thats one of the thing I didnt so sure and still wan to adjust my diet to the max I can stand. The "How I feels" part is to express my feeling and waiting to get some quality inputs from the readers (for eg, you sir, your input is truly something worth to listening). Your input is ofcoz much appreciated.

5. I dont need full planning to run this, it will only makes me lazy if i keep planning and scared of failing. I can change from time to time according to my insight and knowledge. But if you found something not right, to my statement or comment, please give me your input.

I do know you follows atkin last time. Can you share wit me how u feels truout the process?

Cheers

1. I totally understood your situation lol. Hardly poop everyday. So I just weigh after pee every morning. I think it's fine as long as you weigh consistently. Not everyone poop once they wake up lol.

2. Not eating carbs does not help you lose weight. If you lose weight now, it is because you taking lower calorie than usual and it is below your TDEE. You can have all calories from carb and still lose weight as long as you are in calorie deficit. If you want to do experiment on "whether no carbs can help you cut more weight", you should eat the same calorie but more from fats and protein instead of carbs.

3. It's not about fail or not, alien9 is guiding you how to do experiment and diet more effectively. He just telling you that weight loss depends on calorie intake. So you should count how much is your calorie intake. Any diet is bullsh*t if you still eating at surplus when your goal is losing weight.

4/5. It is always better to do some research and plan ahead. But I'm sure other more experienced forumer will help to guide you. =)

Good luck at your diet.

Thanks for your feedback.

2. I just successfully cut ~15Kgs, i cant afford to eat more calories now. sweat.gif and u got a very strong point here. BUT! i did eat the same amount all these time but still cant manage to break-tru it. Therefore, I tried this ketosis thingie, by changing energy sources from glucose to fat (this is wat ketosis is right?). I successfully break-tru it, although it maybe overall water weight, but still, it is something to be elated of. I will take more time to read n feel it myself. thanks!

3. Well, wat i see got a solid science to support it. So i wan to give it a try. at least for a month or 2. I been go tru from 100kg until now 84, so i totally understand wat u n alien said.

4. thats the reason i post here right?

thanks man. u both are great persons.

When you cut down to certain weight, you have to readjust your calorie intake. If you been cutting at 2500cal when you 100kg, you might not be losing weightif you still eating 2500cal when you are 85kg. 2500cal might be your maintenance calorie for 85kg. So you have to lower calorie intake in order to lose weight.

Try look for some information on refeed. It is not really healthy to cut for long period without having refeed. And you will hit plateau easier too.

1 or 2 months is not long i guess.

I read a published paper about ketosis last week n they did this experiment for 44 fat Americans. They gain a pretty good result in 8th weeks but then hit plateau after that until 24th week (which is end of the studies).

On the final day, they did full body check and the final result was pretty decent. 44 of them lost average 20pounds in average and both cholesterol significantly drop to very healthy level too.

but yeah! i promise i wont follow blindly. I will continue do my study while practicing this.
