-Never find those SEO companies that gives you guarantee Page 1 ranking because it's beyond their control as google can change the algorithm anytime.
-Find out how they build their links. Whether it's manually or using automated programs. What's their link building strategy for example tier building, local directories (Guessing it's a local company), social profiles etc.. -Find those that allow deposit and milestone payments. For example, you only pay each time when they help you reach a milestone. -Find for those that offer onpage optimization ( good offsite links + bad onpage optimization = shit) |

I think simply go to any seo site especially those with .org and learn from there would be better than engaging seo companies. I found three of these .org sites last time. I incorporated things that are the same for all three of them. After one year, I managed to get on page 5.
The key to find these site is they never ask you to take courses or pay their consultation fees. They are just sharing their ideas. Sharing ideas is one person's bullshit over another. Coming to lyn is also listening to people's bullshit anyway. The important thing is you gained some knowledge to do it yourself. If you are the type who don't want to do the dirty work because you have a budget then no need listen to my bullshit. |

LOL @ the thought of doing it yourself. You should engage in a specialist because there is a tonne of garbage floating about online about how to really do SEO. That includes the Warrior Forum, by the way.
I'm a veteran of the online marketing industry, working in it since 2002 in the both agency side and client side. You can do SEO yourself, but other than the rubbish floating out there on the internet there is also the risk that you actually penalise your website which means you can either go back in the rankings once there's a change in Google algorithm or you could completely drop out especially if you are not using best practices. Some of the information also can be outdated - what worked before an algorithm update or way back when in 2007 may not be beneficial today in 2015. I still get old timers who are no longer in the industry talking about keyword stuffing and other nifty old school ways that are totally spam these days because it's now about providing quality content. I am not selling my services here as I don't work with the local Malaysian market. But what you should look for when you do hire someone is partially what rave12 said. I would disagree with the milestone payments and people who are actually in business on the agency/freelancer side who are legit should never agree to it from a business perspective because of the amount of work involved especially if you do it 'corporate style'... which btw, small businesses who are serious about growing online really should employ if they can. 1) You can ask them a whole heap of questions about SEO and how they do it. I usually like to drill people, and with my experience I can usually figure out how good they are not because juniors/people just starting out/people who don't know what they are doing usually don't know the answers to technical questions. 2) Don't go by price. A lot of people will charge cheaply, but the saying that if you pay peanuts, you'll get peanuts definitely applies to SEO. 3) Go by value. The SEO should be able to demonstrate the value of using SEO and why it is beneficial for your website. They should also be honest and transparent, and provide reports. 4) On page and off page is important. It's amazing how many "SEO companies" skip the on page or give really bad on page and only provide off page. They should also be able to provide you recommendations of what is currently on your website to help boost your rankings/website traffic. 5) Do ask how they make their links and what software program they use. 6) Create milestones (note: different to milestone payments). They should never guarantee that you will be on the first or second page of Google. That is the surefire way of knowing that this person is not a good provider. The correct answer is that they will try their best but they cannot guarantee it. There's a lot more but for a n00b that should probably suffice. ![]() Oh, and make sure they show their work as evidence that they can actually do it. The keywords (search terms) should not be something incredibly specific such as "red shoes with white bow". It should either be a general keyword e.g. "ladies red shoes" or something that is location specific e.g. "shoe store Bangsar". Good luck! |

Why not do it yourself? Slowly. by creating your own link channel using expired domains or we call it PBN. What is PBN? For your reading http://www.viperchill.com/private-link-network/

Just contact them and agree on price and total volumes of works. I cooperated with similar companies. They should understand your goal and then suggest the amount of works you need to have done. Good luck!

I'm pretty surprised with the replies here, given if I spotted this thread earlier I could've set a fire with so many rubbish and self marketing floating in this thread.
Page 5 in a year is beyond tolerable. None here talks about keyword choice. On page optimization but nothing about content creation & marketing. Google Partner as a benchmark for good SEO practices?? BULLSH*T. Link Building using automated software? PBN is so outdated. New algorithm overthrowing SEO practitioners? Thought it should be their job in highlighting key criteria in new algorithm NO? Word of advise. I always believe a good SEO company should be able to rank themselves up in page 1 above anything else. A simple search on Google should prove my theory right. Meet a couple hear them out, they won't be cheap, as a matter of fact don't engage if they're cheaper than market average. Don't make hasty decisions, most of the SEO agencies will make you commit a year of contract. |

QUOTE PBN is so outdated Who told you? Google. I still rank well with pbn. Until now. Don't read too much from forum. Try yourself, before you assume it outdated. With pbn, you don't need many links. 5 -15 pbn links is enough to rank first page for a long long time. My amazon website still rank first page in Google with only 1 pbn link and 5 web2.0 link, from 2 years ago until now. Amazon commission average usd200 per month every month. Backlink currently working right now: Social link from twitter, facebook, instagram and pinterest. Authority website such as REBELMOUSE, Storify, Behance. Pbn links if doing right.
