Just curious.

You brought your dogs to the beach like Morib and PD. After playing in the sand and water, the mud and sand will stick to their coat. How did you get it off them before you bring them back home? What car you drive? Your car messy lor?
*
We bring lotza water to wash them and many pieces of tower to wipe dry. We also line our leather car seat and floor board with layers of newspaper to absorb smell, then we put the (I dunno what it is call) seat cover specially design for travelling dog, which our friend gave us last year as Xmas present. (I saw it was selling for $88 in Pet Shack, Sunway)

We drive a Honda Accord (which we plan to buy a hilux b4 CNY, so we can experience more adventure with our furry) Yeah messy but worth it. Those trip always give us sweet memory. They were soooo tired fr all the exploring, new scent to smell, swim, travelling etc.You shd see how they chop down their food and sleep like a pig. After reach home gotto vacuum and wipe the leather seat lor. Also spray lotza air freshener or else next day when you get into our car..... rclxub.gif

Here are the resorts that allow dogs which I collected from different forums, please check their rules & regulations of bringing dogs before you make booking:

1. Sibu resort in JB
http://siburesort.com/Rates/Coming%20from%20Malaysia.htm#dog
2. twins pine chalets, Cameron Highlands
3. Bon Ton Resort, Langkawi
4. Ruby Resort in Cherating (only allow dogs at certain date)
http://www.rubys-resort.com/
5. Cameron - Jurina Hill Lodge 05-4915522. They only allow dog during the off peak season - Eg: Non Holiday Weekday.
6. Aurora Court Service Apartment, Penang (15 min driving distance to the beach)
7.  Port Dickson Holiday Bungalows
- No data on this, mind to share?
8. Adeline's Rest House, Gopeng, Perak
9. City Star Hotel, Kulai, Johor
10. Villa Morib, Banting, Selangor (very near to the historic Morib Beach)
11. Broga Hill, Semenyih
*
Thank you Anness!

As far as I know Twin Pine does not allow dog coz I'd called them just few months ago. but many years ago, my friend did 'smuggled' their cocker in. So after calling like 8 resort/chalet, finally one that is ok with our 3 dogs which is Jurina Hill Lodge. The lodge keeper there, Naresh, is a dog lover. He has several poodles which he bring to the lodge every day. My 3 furies had a great time running round the back garden and exploring the hill nearby. Unfortunately there is a colonial of wild dog living in the back hill. Which worried us coz they were decending the hill and checking out our dogs. We brought our doggies to jungle track and explored the water fall.

Anyone plan to bring their buddy to Cameron Highland, I highly recommend Jurina. It has a kitchen with all utilities and a fridge, which we use to store our dogs' BARF. We rent a room with two queen beds, big enough for 2 humans and 3 dogs. Also the price is very reasonable, <$100/night.

Add one more to the list: A'Farmosa Resort, Melaka

Next holiday, we would like to bring our dogs to Langkawi, maybe stay @ Bon Ton. But can anyone tell us whether can dogs (or any animal) get on the Langkawi ferry?

Hi guys,

I really need your guys advice! Please help!

I got my husky by today and its going to be 1 year old. Currently my house got 2 dogs + 1 new husky. If compare with the other 2 dogs, the size of the husky is double or even triple size! May I know how much should I feed her per day? and she seems like uncontrollable as she still haven fit in new environment. sad.gif Another thing is, when she's get naughty that time, we hardly to catch her as she thought we are playing with her. =.=" I always do walk my dogs daily twice a day, but I don't know whether need to 'run' instead or not? LOL!

If place her in the car porch, she will jump over to neighbour's house but luckily didn't went missing. Should I cage or chain her at home by the way? or let her go freely? *the other dogs are walking freely at home*
This is the 1st time I have trouble in taking this huge dog because usually I take care of toy or small dog only.

hi reddevilchoo...firstly..congrats in getting a husky...hmm...i can say husky is very diff from other dog breed...

you can google about husky breed ya...do more research is good for you to understand more....NEVER UNLEASH A HUSKY WHEN WALK THEM...remember...they will just run run run and run...

i think your 2 small dog will hate your husky..haha...as husky tend to be very rough when playing...so your 2 small dog will thought that your husky is trying to harm them tongue.gif

you and your neighbour house fencing so low? try to add something to prevent him/her or jumping over...haha...after your neighbour tulan

if you own a husky...its preferable not to cage/leash them all day long...during the night sleeping ok la...but if you let your husky freely roam...disaster will happen soon...hahaha...as they are very destructive...so ensure some dangerous "thing" is out of reach...beware also about the autogate...sometimes it will accidentally open..then your husky might escape...my girl escape once because of autogate...and i chase like madddddddddddddd woman for few streets...the more you call them...the more they run...its a heart attack or nightmare...as if they run to the main road...i really don't dare to imagine what will happen

about the makan part...some dog eat more...but my girl eat very less...so you slowly adjust lo...don't overfeed can jor lo

more to come...good luck~ enjoy...remember research more on husky breed ya

Instead of running around and chase her, just stop on ur ground and call her to come to u. It might works smile.gif cause if you keep chasing her, she will get more exited instead of slowing down for you to catch her.

I grew up with 2 huskies, they live with my father.

The husky you bought is nearly 1 year old means it didnt grow up with you. To get to know him/her is not difficult as husky are friendly dogs. But to discipline them is hard. My father male husky always fight with our rottweiler and once, end up bitten till near death. Rottweiler didnt want to let go when my dad hit it with umbrella / broom or splash water. Only with hot water did the rottweiler let go. Our husky was lucky to be alive.

Husky are uncontrollable. Within your compound, you should spend much time with it. If it can jump over to the fence, then leash him/her onto other parts of the house, like a pillar or something. Do not leash it to the fence as it jump over, may hang itself to death.

Do not walk the dog without leash as it will run like others have mentioned. If kept in the compound off leash, make sure you supervise. Our husky is one active and another passive. The passive female is loved by everyone as she is white and silver with bi-eyed and very calm.

Good luck with your huskies. It is one of the more difficult dogs to train for advanced owners, not beginners.

ya...agree...not for beginners...many ppl gave up when they first own a husky... sad.gif as they are not prepare for such an active dog...so researchhhhhhhhhhh on their breed is very important before you get 1...mine is a female husky...female is more manja and tame tongue.gif i believe this applies to all the dogs?...haha

Thanks Vinci777, muchan86 and merchant9.

Yeap, I already did some research on husky and it seems pretty good now. Yesterday seems uncontrollable might because of new environment + rain (husky will get hyper in cold weather?)

Its not fence actually, it is those terrace house wall. The wall has some tiny rectangle vertical hole pattern and I can't believe my huge husky can cross over. Now I already blocked with some bricks so whenever she saw some barriers, she don't intend to jump or cross over. smile.gif

During hot day, is it necessary to prepare ice water instead of normal water? She just love to dig her whole muscle into the water pale n play water.

Like what vinci777 said, I also worry about the husky will run away when I reverse my car. *the 2 other dogs don't intend to escape from house unless I leash them because they love the owner* tongue.gif If nobody at home, will the husky go destructive too?

she's very pretty with dark marking... smile.gif

they can tahan damn cold weather, but not too hot...as long as fresh clean water then can edi...and ensure it is always enough for them to drink...husky extremely love to drink (or play) with water...when you caught her playing then say NO!...let her know that it is not the right thing to do...after no more water..and no ppl at home...she will die of thirst...serious here o

when you open your autogate...she definitely run out 1...you have to find ways to prevent that...if you have no big big cage...then leash her...a much longer leash so that she able to roam around (as husky always love freedom)...i dont leash or cage my girl...she is the queen in the house...my bed, the kitchen...the bathroom...she can go whenever she wanted to...with my presence of course...

husky is destructive because they are bored...if you put her in your car porch...maybe when you back from work...you will find some of your plants are dead or few more extra holes in your garden (if you have)...to kill their boredom...buy them some chewy ball or raw hide bone...to keep them busy...or after work...run them and make them tired...then when no one in the house...she will be busy chewing bones...or just sleep only...my girl sleep when i am at work ...only active when i am back...haha

hey guys!

I've adopted a male husky, a month ago..he is already 2years old..the previous owner never did take good care of him..almost 2years no deworming, vaccination not completed, super thin and not eating much when i got him home...the previous owner also complaint of giving up on taking care of his coat..when i got him back then, his coat was like tree skin..sweats..

Now with me a month, vaccination done, deworming done, dose him with apricot twice a day to increase his appetite and been combing his coat twice a day with 3 different comb..his coat are much softer now, no more tree skin..lol..

When i jz got him back, he only took 1cup of food a day..now hes eating 4cup a day! =)

btw, am still new to this breed...any suggestion?
Wat i observe and research online, hes super energetic, jz as wat the net describe...and hes been horny..lol..keep trying to hump my spayed retriever..lol..

I think his previous owner seldom do talk to him, and also never did play with him b4....when i tried to play with him, he never really know how to play...

Husky tend to shed like MAD....during their shedding season...furballs are everywhere in my house...and i have to vacuum like mad~ so daily combing does help alot to reduce the shedding...good job

humping may be due to 2 things...real horny or dominance...haha...maybe he wanted to be the alpha...haha...your retriever can get along well with him? am glad that he have a companion

good luck~ you may join husky club (click on my signature link below)...the club got many SIFUs and everything about husky you need to know in there...and we always have husky gathering...all of you are welcome ^^

enjoy with your new husky pet...REMEMBER...never unleash them during a walk...in the house ok la tongue.gif repeat this for so many times...i am so long gas...hahaha

some people always get the wrong idea bout humping. There are actually many reason behind those action for example, some dominant dog will try to hump other dog to show his dominant side but it could also mean the dog accepting his/her partner like in your case, ur husky is accepting ur GR and vice versa and thats explain y ur female GR also hump him. It's good to let them to when they 1st meet but it would be good also to stop them to do it continuously cuz if you let them do what they want, they will take it as a means that you allow them to keep on doing it smile.gif

reddevilchoo,

First, beware that Huskies are always tricky. You need to think a step ahead of them before it's too late. They are probably the smartest and most mischevious of dogs.

No need ice water but plain water can already. No need warm water. Can even give it tap water. They like to play with water so they probably lick it twice and kick it all over. Our husky love to have their paws dip in the water bowl.

Make sure you tie it up before you reverse your car.

leggedy,

You need not feed the husky too much. Husky are bred to eat minimum food and yet able to run for kilometers in the icy cold weather. I think 1 cup in the morning and 1 cup in the evening is enough. Fat dogs = unhealthy dogs. Husky, if you give 10 cups also they will gobble everything. Control their diet.

Husky is a breed for active people. Unless you can tame it down, against their nature. You need to spend a lot of time with it, unlike other dogs.

but the thing is, mine is underweight...when i touched it's chest, back, anywhere..it's all bone..i need to put on some weight onto him 1st b4 i reduce it to the correct amount...

Mine wont eat alot..lol...when my GR stopped eating, he will follow up..lol..so what i do is, feed him 1st, and hes much gentle compare to my GR...so when hes half bowl of his food, thats when i allow my GR to eat...indirectly when my GR eats, that will encourage him to eat faster..lol...till my GR finish up her bowl, my husky will stop eating..lol..even if theres a few bite left...

OR, if my husky finish ahead of my GR, he will started peeping into GR's bowl..lol..then growling starts....lol...
And a 'no' stop em both...then my husky walks and sit near me..
