if you wanna buy a guard dog..then husky is not the one...research more on husky before getting 1...they are not easy to take care and very destructive...they love to run run run...not good to leash or cage them most of the time...but when you walk them..you must leash them...else you can say bye bye to your husky

husky is a super friendly dog...they don't bark at strangers...they love stranger...they will just follow any "stranger" away...and they need to be keep under the shade with plenty of fresh water...my girl drink more than i do a day blush.gif

Hi,

Currently my husky is 8 week old. Is it advisable to feed them raw egg every 2 days along with his meal? Does this help on their coat?

nono...not advisable...i once ask my vet before...and he say hard boiled egg is better...best is you ask your vet la...now your husky is still a pup...coat sure soft and nice 1...when they shed off their pup fur at the age of 4months (around that time) then their guard hair will grow...that time you can buy supplements to maintain their shiny coat...

for good and expensive brand...you can try ark natural...but my girl is eating vetri-science vetri coat tongue.gif

I have a 2 years old male Husky. I'm thinking of getting a female husky for breeding, and also let him have fun tongue.gif . Should I?

He is very active but he will never do awkward action to anyone.

that's the problem, u r not going to keep the pup, who else? will u put effort to screen the potential puppy buyers and find the best owner for the pup? if all ppl simply breed the dog juz for "fun" and simply sell or gv the puppies to anyone or "throw" the puppy to anywhere, really sympathy to those puppies....

not saying u cant breed, but pls take full responsibility on the puppies....make sure they will have good live...

I know you guys do not want to create wild dogs and I definitely against that as well.

I believe if I breed with another husky, many people will want to adopt husky puppies for FREE, at least my neighbor, friends, colleague, etc... Besides that, selling them through forum or shops might be additional income as well even though I do not plan to earn money like that.

but the puppy mostly will belong to the female dog, hardly can earn for a male dog if without a certification. (my opinion since dog with cert definitely are higher than those who didn't)

I don't mean to earn. Just that selling the puppies should be enough to cover for the female husky laboring medical fees.

Hello newbie here, never step into the pet section of LYN before hehe biggrin.gif

Quite interested to get a Siberian Husky for my own but I don't know where to start.

For my personal record, I've kept a few dogs before but none of them were pure breeds. Most of the time my father and brother takes care of them so I have got plenty to learn :$ but I think I'm ready!

I'd like to know more about Huskies. Where can I get them in Malaysia? I googled up adoption ads but don't know where to proceed from there. What bout purchasing them? How much would one cost? How does a husky cope with the weather here? How much space is sufficient to keep the Husky occupied? Would a small garden(approx size of 4 cars parked in parallel)be big enough to house a Husky? How much on the average do you need to spend on the grooming, food and etc.( I'm a uni student and do have abit of savings but am worried if the bill runs up in the long run. Trying to be less dependent on parents here lol)

Basically beginner questions. So please, please help out!

Hi,

I have had 3 dogs before my first husky came. 6 months later, the second husky came. Both were gift from a relative. Up till today, I'd still have to say that Huskies, despite the wolf-feature and good looks, they are extremely difficult to take care of. Why? Because they are hyperactive and super smart. Too smart till they know how to turn on the water tap for drinks and play and your water bill come up RM300.

You can get them anywhere in Malaysia. You can try Ikano Pet Safari.
Huskies are fantastic pure breeds that ppl almost never put up for adoption so dont dream on that
Purchasing them would cost about RM2,000.
Huskies born and bred here have adapt to our climate and can cope with shade and fan during the hot days.
Yes, compound like yours would be sufficient but its not the compound that matter, it's how much time you bring it out to walk around the neighbourhood is what matter. A walk with your dog is the part where you bond and strengthen and teach it manners, not just let it roam on its on. If he peed all over and around, you'd be pissed too.
On average for food is about RM100 per month and they never need grooming as they shed twice a year.
