Regal is above average, the kibbles are slightly bigger size but i like it that way cause it makes my dogs chew instead of swallow. What interest me is all their meat proteins are "Air Classified", in layman term it means a air blowing process to blow away lower quality proteins and those non pure substance such as ash while retaining those protein with higher values. It simply differentiates them from other range of dog food that contains "MEAT" meal. Well definitely there are many good brands out there, this is one of those I had tried and Regal is more economical.

Regal is economical? I didnt know that as I didnt really look into the pricing of it since it was a new name (unfamiliar to me). I will check it out based on your recommendations. What other options would you suggest for someone who has 3 westie, 1 husky and 1 silky terrier?

not a Husky owner, but would loveeeeee to have one  laugh.gif

Pets Wonderland @ Mid Valley used to have a really gorgeous grey fur siberian husky.
1 of d reasons why I'd pop by that place everytime I visit MV  wink.gif
but d last time I went it was no longer there  cry.gif
someone must have bought it?
hopefully it's a good & loving owner  smile.gif

Yea, husky are pretty nice and mine is gray and white too. I didnt bought it from PEts Wonderland though but chances are someone probably bought the husky you said and it's living happily somewhere.

hi,

i plan to breed dog and husky is in my top list, i have some Qs regarding to husky,
1. can husky breed outdoor?
2. do husky have any skin disease?
3. will husky make noise/bark? cos i 'm living in Malay community..

thx..
*
Breed means getting puppies. Did you mean that or did you mean you want to keep a husky as pets? If keeping them as pets, then maybe I can answer your answer.

1. Yes, it can live outdoor but husky are wolf descendent and like their ancestor, they behave like wolves which prefer to live in pack. Although it doesnt hurt to keep them outdoor like I do but there is always a risk of it being stolen. Nico, my husky live near the side door of my house and that is where my grandma sit to rest on her lazy chair in the afternoon and maid iron the clothes when she works so despite outdoor, she is close to us being around her.

2. Some husky does have skin disease due to the weather and food.

3. Husky howls when alone and bored and this is bothersome. Howls in the night is bothersome and may be offensive to the muslim community near you.

I believe you are saying keeping/rearing a husky, since breeding (delivering puppiesssssss) is much complicated issue and should come after you really know the breed well. To answer your ques:

1. Yes, husky can STAY outdoor especially for those born locally. If you import one from cold weather country, then it is another story.
2. Yes, husky tend to get skin disease due to their thick coat. If you are not drying them up properly after bath or maybe they get wet during rain, chances of getting skin disease is higher.
3. Husky howls, and they can learn to barks. You might want to consider whether your neighbours are open minded ones or would they against your idea of rearing a dog.

Regal is somewhere Blackwood pricing. Well, I have a husky, a mongrel, a chihuahua, 5 malteses, all on Regal. I bet we have similar "family tree" thumbup.gif Anyway, I get to know better about Regal after I met up with the distributor, so feel free to do research on as many brands as you want.

Breed or take it as a pet? Dont mistaken both of them. Anyway, since ur asking such Q, breeding is not for u cos u certainly dont know the breed well enough. We dont wanna encourage irresponsible breeders.

If u take it as a pet, it ranges on how good u wanna treat them. It can be from 50 to a few hundreds. That doest included the expenses when they got sick or infections.

Well, husky howls but they do able to learn barking from other dogs, at least my Kenzo does it. You are saying accidentally off leash, so normally your husky is not allowed to roam free?

Normally, vet would recommends 3 vaccinations on 2nd, 3rd and 4th months old, then yearly booster. Vaccination cost less than RM100, deworming around RM5.

Good to know he is roaming free now =) Cause if he is contraint all time, he will keep too much of energy inside and will get crazy once let free. Husky need loads of exercise.

Yup, my husky can howls since puppy. But it is not strange if your husky doesnt make noise. I do hope my dogs dont make noise. laugh.gif

Nico is very quiet on regular days. She never bark at strangers but howl when she is bored or when it's meal time so we will never miss a meal. If by 9am still no food, there she goes. If by 8pm still no food, again!

I have a male Sib Husky.. he is arnd 1.5 years old now..
problem with him is... he is LAZY... i mean.. sib are supposed to LOVE to run, right? yet, when i bring him out for run, he just run around 1 minute, then he lazy to run already.. i must actually command him to run, after 5 minutes, sometimes he will totally refuse to run, walking at his own sweet pace..
Also, he is relatively obedient but because i hv another older dog (which i didn't train, because i was inexperience at that time) which is disobedient (tried training him, but till now no success yet), he tends to be stubborn too. for example, when i ask him to sit, he will go "bite" my older dog (my older dog is a small dog, american eskimo dog). only after a few times of calling, he will obey me. sometimes, i hv to be a little more harsh, only he will obey. often, when he doesn't want to do what i ask him to do, he will "bully" my another dog =.="
And, as mentioned, he is lazy, when he lie down, he won't get up, won't obey me... (unless got food.. lol.. he is a greedy dog)
so, is there any way to cure his laziness, and also, i fear he will become disobedient because of the behavior of my another dog, yet i don't have time to train him anymore, as they are in my hometown while i am in kl, and the other dog, kinda too late to train already, doesn't really respect me..

it's never too late...just you need to give them some time to understand those command and what they should do...patient...but you mention you are working in KL and thy are not always with you so a bit hard...

may i ask if your husky neutered?...normally dogs who are spayed or neutered are tend to be more lazy...haha

but first time i heard of a husky who run for only 1 min?...my girl would not stop if i did not stop her from running...hahahahaha
