I was told public mutual can compete with ASB or ASW in dividen stage. How true is that? If so i will redraw all my money is ASB + ASW and pour in one of pubic mutual fund.

And ignore the fact that your capital is not protected? And the fact that they have around 5% charge (difference between the buy and sell price)? Be careful bro... A sudden drop in the stock market will wipe lots of your money out, eventhough the number of your units appear intact.

To make it simpler

Dividend : Calculated based on Average Lowest monthly balance for the year.
1. find out your lowest monthly balance for all the months in the year
eg :
Jan 1000
Feb 2000
mar 3000
etc

2. Add them all
eg 1000+2000+3000+etc

3. devide by 12, you get the "Average Monthly lowest balance".
4. Times by the dividend rate, you should get the dividend figure

Now for bonus, it average montlly lowest balance for the last 10 years (as compared to only 1 year in dividend).

1. Find out your lowest monthly balance
eg.
jan 1997 = 1000
feb 1997 = 2000
etc
until Dec 2007 = 20000
(for 10 years)
2. Add them all up.
3. Devide by 120 (120 months in 10 years)
4. TImes the bonus rate.

You should get the dividend.

To top up you should not require ID, i think, just like you can bank in some one else account in bank. But open account will require id.

Wahhhhhhhh, like that. Make sense also. No wonder this promoters/agents ask me to invest alot, so that they get their commission. If like this i withdraw my 20K from public mutuallah and pub back in ASB  tongue.gif . Thanks for sharing. Totally wasting my time at this public mutual think. I didn't relise i am that stupid. Government try to help us all but we ourself like to be so clever and adventures. What a waste of time and effort. Aiyo. But nevermind. We learn from mistake. This mistake should never happen again. Thanks bro  tongue.gif

I just took the form "pelaburan tambahan" to fill in.
But then I found that there is another CAJ (+5%)!!
It stated that JUMLAH KOS SEUNIT=HARGA SEUNIT RM + CAJ (5%).
Does that mean anything?
Is the cost/unit still RM1??
*
I think that's for variable fund (eg ASN, ASG), not for fixed fund(ed ASB, ASW, ASD).

Good for you. So lucky. Now i already max out my ASB. Have to wait for ASW now. Aiyo. What the max for ASW? Is it RM20k as i recall? Correct me if i'm wrong.  smile.gif

Bumi's portion for ASW should still be there. Do check out ASD first then ASW.

The ASW2020 20K limit is only during the period of 12th September until 15th september. After that date, individuals can deposit as much as possible, provided there is available units.

so for non bumis, bad luck lor. all finish already
*
Correct, don't confused between bumi portion and non-bumi potion. Bumi portion normally is always there (except for ASD sometimes). Non-Bumi always finished on the same day.

yup but heard december will be new fund coming out. Don't worry invest all u want cos i doubt gov will be that dumb to give low interest to we all considering that FD rate at least 4.7% if they declare dividend any lower than that i'm sure all non bumi will w/draw their portion straight away =) well me for starters! haha

anyway happy invest!
*
You mean 3.7% instead of 4.7% FD rate.

2007 Dividend and Bonus not yet announced. wink.gif

QUOTE(ah_suknat @ Oct 11 2007, 06:21 AM)
is there any limit for ASB funds? I mean like the maximum unit the government issued to the public, or is it unlimited? unlike ASN got limit.

thanks! notworthy.gif
*
No limit for the fund size. ASB is the only fund that I am aware of that has no limit. However, individual limit, ie each person can buy maximum RM200,000.

Dividen calculated at average monthly balance for the 12 months, while bonus calculated at average monthly balance for last 120 months (ie 10 years).

So bonus is more to reward loyal long term investor.

want to ask some newbie question here,if recession happen, will it affect ASB,ASM,ASW,ASD,ASN BADLY or SLIGHTLY?hope some pro here can answer this.THX

At lease you know that for ASB, ASN, ASW and ASD your capital will be protected. ASN however is variable prices so like other variable unit trust its value may go down.

My mother bought Amanah Saham Wawasan 2020 when I was young (don't have IC then)

Now I plan to sell it off.

1) Where do I sell it?

2) What is the procedure? What documents do I need to bring?

3) Do I need my mother to be there?
*
Try to go to PNB's agent ie RHB Bank, CIMB bank, Maybank or post malaysia and ask them first. Try bringing your book and IC and Surat Beranak. Maybe your mother need to come as well, but better you check at the agent first before dragging your mother there.

Wanna ask 1 more thing most important. Im as a bumi. Can i buy ASW2020 anytime i want or i must wait for the govt to issue the fund?
*
For bumi anytime. But why not ASB instead? Better dividend based on historical data.

in the wake of the GE result, i expect gov will ask ASNB to sell some asw/asm to make rakyat happy. of course it will help them a little if they do so.

still, my opinion is that asnb should come out with a fixed unit trust fund that are open to all MALAYSIAN (bumi/non-bumi) but limit it to let say 25k each. It will give some 20++mill malaysian to get the same treatment. make it like asb. as long as you have a blue ic you'll be able to open it. what say you all?

p.s. i doubt that will happen.
*
20 million x 25k equals 500 billion, if my maths is right. Thats really a lot of fund to manage. Around 5 times what PNB is currently having and much bigger that EPF's current 312 billion. It will be a real challenge to do so.
