The app auto backup to sd card once a day but the files are encrypted so can only be used for restoration. Important chat, I will email to myself since then you get it in plain text format.

soft reset = hold down power button 10-15 sec until it reboots
hard reset = Setting>system>about>reset your phone, you lose everything in the phone back to factory default.

The "soft reset" sounds more like a reboot to me. Any difference between the two? Thank you in advance.

It is exactly the same.

In WP, you don't get any prompt to turn off or restart if you hold the power button like you would on Android. So, to do a restart or "soft reset" on WP, you had to do that aforementioned trick.

Thanks for the info.

Btw, on windows phone (in my case Lumia 430), how do I turn off the screen by just touching screen? Currently im using an apps to do just that.

One more thing. I can see that this phone has a double tap feature to turn on the screen. Ia there any way for me to turn on the screen using volume button like in most Android phone?

That's your only option.

And by apps, I take that you meant; you pin a live tile supplied by that app to your start screen and pressing it would lock/sleep the phone? If yes, then yeah that your only option.

Nope you can't neither, power button and double tap are your only option.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, thats exactly what I did. Would you recommend the best apps to turn off the screen? Currently I'm using apps called Nice Lock.

Btw, does using double tap take its toll on battery life? I understand that the phone digitizer need to stay awake for double tap to works.

What's your plan? Changing phone, hard reset??

In W10M, we can backup content from participating apps to OneDrive... but WhatsApp not listed yet...

Maybe you can have a look in your phone memory using the File Explorer for a WhatsApp folder called WinPhoneBackup (not the folder under Pictures), or connect to computer to look and set Explorer to show Hidden Files & Folders. If you can find the backups, you could possibly copy out and add back after resetting.

I haven't used those kind of app for a while now so I can't really recommend any.

Not by a large margin. I barely noticed any significant battery drain when it's turned on so don't worry too much.

guys, I just upgraded from wp8.1 to win10 latest slow ring build
I noticed the phone is charging slower, lumia 1520
FYI, I'm using 2A charger and charge faster than original nokia charger when I had wp8.1
Anyone experience similar issue? Will hard reset help?
