Stuck at 0% on the first leg for over 24 hours, now giving up. Total waste of time and data allowance.

QUOTE(dgboy @ Sep 16 2015, 10:22 PM) The update did take a long time. Initially update to build 101514 & 101536.1000.This alone take 2-3 hours. After complete only I notice need to update one more time to 101536.1004. This is shorter, less than 1 hour. Btw did any of you notice lag between screen wakes up and the time the passcode pin menu pop ups? If the passcode are not required, don;t have this issue (I set mine to lock every 30 min) Another one is the lock screen quick status seems to reset every time. Only phone and sms remains while the others (user set whatsapps etc) gone. I'm currently using 640 XL. |

Same problem here, though not a big issue for me since this is not affecting performance and usage.I'm currently using 640 XL. Also I have 4 things queued in Store download and updates with error 0x803F8001, these 4 things are display, audio, rate us, touch. Is it ok to just ignore this? Can't update them since 2 days ago. I see a lot of ppl suffering from excruciatingly slow update from 10512 to this new build, I suggest roll back to 8.1 (if possible) and update directly, since it only took me only about 1 hour to complete it from 8.1 to 10536.1004 Just checked my Battery Saver and saw Photos and Store both using over 10% battery running in background, wow! I'm gonna try disable them running in background to see if it improves battery life. This post has been edited by s3iryu: Sep 17 2015, 02:08 PM |

Hmmm, so far so good on my 1520 @ build 10536. Left it overnight for the update.
Was slow at first, but after the first day of usage it's pretty fluid/smooth. Likes: Edge, new Outlook, action center, look and feel (ok lah) Dislikes: breaks a few apps, apps randomly won't start, whatsapp can't open camera in chat, no battery app like Win 8.1 Gonna test the new Astoria build next. |

I rolled back to 8.1 recently. Found the latest update 101536 to be more buggy than before. Main problem is battery drain. Seems this is different on each model. Using 640XL.
Hopefully the final version will iron out these issuea. As of now, I'm happy with the smoothness 8.1 offers. |

I'm still going to get win10 though with a new phone once the thing becomes official.Hopefully the final version will iron out these issuea. As of now, I'm happy with the smoothness 8.1 offers. |

Why Microsoft is positioned beyond the mobile curve while Apple & Google may be left behind

Do i get more apps if i were to update from windows 8.1 to windows 10 especially for smartphone? I think windows is a nice platform to use but unfortunately they can never match up with android and IOS on apps. I saw an article by installing windows 10, we can run most of the android apps. Am i correct?
