the torps are OP as hell and as a low tier dessie i sometimes dash into the thick of enemies heavy ships like battleships and carrier and watch as your multiple spread of torps sinking them

Thus far, my thoughts as a CBT player in WoWS, it's really polished in terms of gameplay and that each ship has their designated roles and play differently. You have AA escort roles early on, designated DD hunters, as well as fighter focused CVs, useful if there's other enemy CVs out there with bombers. Choices matter as headings as well as the ships' speed setting affects how the game plays out.

Well there's been some random dc every now and then when I was playing co-op .Other than tat the latency and ping were good

Hi, I just started and currently have a tier 4 IJN DD and all tier 3 BBs and CAs. This game is pretty great, love the sound and the feel of the ships, way better than the remote-controlled feeling of WoT.
but is it just me or is the dispersion of the battleships over the top? aiming doesn't seem to be doing much seeing as the the shells seem to be going everywhere but where I point it. it seems to be at the moment the most fun I have is in a DD or a St. Louis, esp the CA as they seem to be able to mitigate the poor aim with its ROF. |

well with tier 4 ships i guess the reward really is high..

Try Furutaka of the IJN tier V cruiser.

Yesterday I play whole day and so much fun.. Either I dint notice friendly or enemy torpedo, too focus on attacking enemy especially on destroyer (50% got hit) until hit the island, launch torpedo but got teammate not even notice kena hit and blame with me foul word or most epic I b3come IP man 1vs 5 ship |

For US CL, St Louis is awesome...but now i'm on Phoenix i find it a bit less powerful than St Louis, but it is fast and maneuverable...as for Jap CL, i'm on tenryu only..find it less interesting than St Louis..

Furutaka from IJN Tier 5 CA really test a players patience limit and give them enough training to go to the nxt tier. With a 16 seconds reload time on a turret tat turns so slow and a torps reload time of 1 min..

those who played US battleship line... from which tier onwards you start training your commander?
I unlocked my commander while using St Louis and was thinking whether to train it so I can use for my battleships later..... or keep it on St Louis (fun ship). dilemma |

Commander max skill points is somewhere between 17 ~20 . So its better to train 1 personal commander for each type of ship ur playing.
The higher ur commander lvl ,the harder it is to lvl up. It is said that from 17 point to 18 point require 80k exp and above. In the near future ,there will be possibilities that WG will make more commander /officer available for each ship just like WoT. I suspect "20" point commander refers to the premium commander which is bought using doubloon. Here's some basic guide on how to distribute skill points. Normally BB will be burning all the way so the reduce chances are pretty much so so. Thats why they call them BB (Burning Battleship) . Lets just hope u didnt meet an annoying Des Moines Cruiser with upgrade to chances to cause fire . I'm getting the detection of long range artillery on my future X cruiser due to the fact that Yamato firing range is half the map and if he's a sharpshooter ,one hit is guarantee KO. overall i would say it depends on user preference. on my fast rapid cruiser the cleveland, I chose situation awareness to let me know if my enemy can see me or there's a destroyer nearby. Pretty useful. Next would be aiming expert. Useful to turn your guns faster when you serpenting. or aiming while steering. keeping your target in line. Follow by the next recommendation is increase torp acquisition by 20%. premature detection of torps gives time to steer and deviate from getting sinked by torp. After that get the demolition expert and spam HE like mad. Most of the time, you can get citadel on smaller ships. for battleship, its near impossible unless you're firing more than 200mm cannons. HE with fire will cook larger ships down faster than AP. Above combination is more of a balance offense and defense setup. feel free to share your combi or recipe. playing tier 6 mutsuki... dammit i find it harder to play and less fun compared to tier 5 minekaze... cutting down 1 torp tube even though the torp amount is same is like taking 30% of fun away..
I had so much fun on the Minekaze, now playing Mutsuki makes me want to just delete the game... can't seem to hit anything with the torp and reload times sucks. i'd trade lower damage torp for higher reload rate. |

Personally, its hard for me to recommend any premium battleship as worth it, unless you played mostly in division. Battleship will need support, and counting support from random player will depend on luck.
Getting hit hard early game in every round will be frustrating in expansive battleship; not easy to get your money worth when youre already crippled early game |

In my opinion ,premium ships like I said on my previous post are for ppl who are fond or loved particular ships. They're mostly the version of an existing ships available in the game alrdy but with a better spec .
They're also great for training commander due to the higher exp gain . Afterall its just an in game purchase and I doubt WoW (world of warship) game would really last long . Currently stuck with the pepsicola ( Pensacola ) . Low rate of fire ,freaking big citadel and a tortoise speed of turret traverse speed. .Gotta take some time to get to New Orleans.As for whether investing in a premium BB is worth it ,it depend on u guys to observe and see how it goes. Yup I'm stuck with Pensacola as well. Compared to Cleveland, its a much bummer. Then again i'm looking forward to Des Moines. May be going get a premium account to boost things up. Else, just use doubloon to convert all the other ships XP to premium XP. Anyone started with the rank wars? Seems like its more interesting than random battle. People actually working as a team to win the battle. |

And the pain of being in a Tier 8 ships. If ur ships is destroyed ur gonna need to pay the credit in full. This is where premium ship or lower tier ships come in handy,to earn the credits. And Baltimore need 13.6m

Just started playing this over the weekend and have advanced to Tier 5 but still using Tier 3 St Louis Cruiser. I suck at Tier 4 Phoenix torp cruiser. I suck at torpedoes, period!
I'd like to ask, can I just research towards a Tier 6 Cleveland without having to actually buy an Omaha (tier 5 ship)? Damn Phoenix cost me a bomb and I'm sure an Omaha will be even more expensive |

i'm playing IJN BB line, currently on Tier V Kongou, seems like most of you play US line
i feel like i'm sucks in aiming, although i have very long firing range but most of my lead shot is miss, either wrong lead timing or the shell just drop at the side of enemy ship  i always get killed by enemy because i keep on spearhead in the game, and most of the time i got shitty teammate that doesn't know how to move forward and all of them just say at base/spawn area  i also noticed many players that to border hugging, not sure what's the purpose but it seems like it is harder to hit them and estimate their speed when they are at the border |

I've been grinding the German line. Currently in a Yorck (Tier VII) with another 34k XP for the Hipper (Tier VIII). Coming from a Nurnberg, I initially found the Yorck terrible and thought about abandoning the German line, returning to USN. Now, having become more accustomed to it, I've learnt to deal with its shortfalls.
If I had solely focused on the German line, I reckon I'd be closer to Tier IX by now (I have a Tier IV Phoenix and a Tier V Minekaze). Been playing this for just over 2 weeks (or is it 3?), couple of hours daily, more during weekends/breaks. If one grinds daily with more hours, I reckon Tier X may be achievable in under two months. With British fleet expected to be the nxt country to fully join WoW followed by French,Italian and Chinese . I will just aim to get Yamato b4 ToS goes OBT . Pretty much started to get boring with this game. Also the Ars Nova x WoW doesnt have anything interesting (at least when I tested play the mode at AFA) .

How are you guys doing with ranked battles? I'm stuck at rank 10 since i only got tier 6 vessels top. took me 28 painful battles to get to that rank and Project-R, as weekend player accomplishing it still seem so far away -__- |

with just 12hour more add up game time almost there now need to clear 3 more mission  the new Russian Premium Cruiser stat seem quite good make me feels like buying a present for myself from what i gather it is like cleveland with 8km torpedoes at tier 8  |

cleared project R and get gift ship emden in the process too emden is way waaay better ship than the Albany that they give earlier Russian bias seem stronk in Mikhail Kutuzov, it's a post world war 2 ship and i think Atlanta would have more use of smoke generator since their range is only 11km |

in the event of Arpeggio new year I think only can get kongo ship if success finish the 3 mission with tier V ship I got, the other one Myoko ship, I don't reach tier VI and impossible to get in time and I not so hardcore either and time is limit.
Mission 1 Kongo Destroy 30 Cruisers take time and luck. Mission 2 Kongo Shoot down 150 aircrafts, I been wonder it is possible? but take time also and luck. Mission 3 Kongo Deal 1,000,000 damage over any number of battles, this seem no problem it like collective of each battle. |

worst is for apr mission event most abandom capture victory point all focus hunt cruiser or destroyer, in the end just cant win on the map.
I do hope they would change the mission to sunk any of ship on the map instead too focus on cruiser or destroyer |

The hardest part for me now is hunting the DD and geting 150 aircraft kill. Its gonna take some time for the DD .

Cruiser is the easiest to find nowadays . All the reason is bcoz u need a fast reload to kill DD . Of coz u can play hide and seek using a DD as well but its harder .

now have to grind CV to tier V to enable shoot down plane count, funny thing using furu drift after sunk one cruiser in front beside another one cruiser coming , I fast2 turn , he also , we shoot gun , torpedo and last I ram into him and both sunk complete kongo challenge destroy 30 cruiser ship stage. team ship battleship and cruiser that was near the battle seeing me doing like that was saying cool stuff I did in the team chat.

I still prefer the Atago compared to the Tone though the latter is Tier 7, which will get better MM ie lower chances to meet Tier 10s.
Been catching up on the ARP missions by finally completing the 30 DD kills. Not too focused on getting the Cleveland currently as I have been playing my Hipper, Atago and Nurnberg for mission purposes... downing planes and setting them all on fire! |

i havent have much progress on the arpeggio mission, maybe in the desperate time have to take work leave to grind out want the myoko at least the chinese DD will be a one-off premium; or two-off since there will be a gnevny class DD too in tier 5 like the poland blyskawica; will gain more exp and money but will be pointless as captain training ship since there will be not other ship from same nation not enough china ship to make a whole tree british tree will be coming soon |

i got 3 nation ship.. US,Japan and Germany.. if want more gun and reload faster i think US (cleveland not bad i using it but is light cruiser and dont let BB hit u will lose one turret.. Japan for tier 5 reload time not my style but it is heavy cruiser if not mistaken and got torpedo compare cleveland single torpedo pun takda.. german i can comment on tier 5 normally i use AP shell very easy get citadel hit and weird turret location design and got torpedo yo |

I just got my ARP Kongo! Still grinding 300 fires for the ARP Myoko. I've also unlocked the Cleveland and maxed her out with free XP
Some quick notes on Cruisers, Best ROF - Germany, US, IJN. Shell damage is reversed though Turret rotation - US, German, IJN IJN Cruisers have good Torps, followed by German cruisers. After Tier 5, US cruisers no torps except the Atlanta. |

Since u asked about Cruiser only .
US cruiser Pros:Currently having the best AA among all 3 nations,good rate of fire .Having a slightly better armour . Cons : No torps ,Tier 7 , 8 ,9 would be challenge due to their improved 203mm ammo but slow reload time. Weak AA defense . looks like IJN cruiser is more like BB, slow reload/turret rotation and big damage one shot, with nice torpedo german will be spamming main gun (for some german cruiser i meet, most of them will shoot me almost non stop) probably something like the tier 2 premium german cruiser US cruiser will be anti air (i think probably all US ships are good anti air) i will avoid US cleveland when i as carrier because my plane already take hit even with some distance, and whole squad will gone if i go nearer... i think i'll go for nice reload time for main gun i still don't have a ship that allow me to spam main gun (other than tier 1 or 2) IJN dd torpedo is good, but main gun just not that good compare with other country... maybe i'll take either German or US cruiser (i'm lazy to play both side, so only choose one of it )i'm also grinding 300 fire, still long way to go, probably it count 300 ships, not 300 fire for kongou, the bar for part 3 already about 80% |

Setting fire to 300 ships has been a pain because German ships suck with low % for fire. Lucky for me, I now have the Cleveland. Can average 3-5 fires per game |

Already get ARP Kongo. Currently about 128/300 fire for the ARP Myoko mission. Don't have tier 6++ USN cruiser so have to rely on DD (Blyskawica, Fubuki) and IJN BB and IJN cruisers and Soviet cruiser (Mikhail).
For AA I think so far Mikhail Kutuzov is very powerful. It can easily shoot down tier 9-10 planes |

it depended on ppl also..for me, cleveland is the best option to kill planes...stay near top tier BB cos they are target for CV...also can play escort to BB since they are defenseless vs DD.

Note to cv players . Always avoid a head on confrontation with Cleveland .If u hate Cleveland as a CV player ,I suggest u try to force them to activate their AA skill.
Nurnberg were using 150mm shell thus lower chances of setting fire . Not to mention the weird turret positioning . |
