Playing Overwatch is no longer in vogue and playing Fortnite is now chic. Never played DOTA 2, but this game is very popular maintaining high revenue over the years. LOL continues to earn the highest revenue. Meanwhile, World of Tanks has dropped to 8th compared to last year. Eagerly waiting for next month's data to be released. Will the current dissatisfaction over the proposed removal of PMM tanks article in May and EULA revision in June affect WG's revenue and will WoT share the same fate as Overwatch in the future?

Now Community Contributors get to keep review tanks too. Starting from the KV-2 (Ragnarok) and the Sherman VC Firefly. Perhaps motivation for the CC's to feature the tank in their streams.

WG made some effort to attract players in RU, EU and NA to purchase items in the Premium Shop. So far nothing similar yet in ASIA.

WoT Asia server relocating from Singapore to Hong Kong

Well, it finally happened. Instead of making an announcement in advance before implementing the server relocation, WG moved the server before making an announcement catching some players off guard. While not a big latency issue for us here Malaysia, it is for some players elsewhere. Gotta squeeze every possible last penny from players. GG Wargaming...

However, I spoke too soon regarding the latency problem. It was terrible today with some packet loss and football mode was very unplayable. In addition to the earlier problem of Preferential matchmaking and 3-5-7 matchmaking; I'm not going to spend money on this game even with a 75% discount coupon.

During Tankfest 2018, the community contributors were informed of WG plans to fix the earlier issues but they are unable to share because of NDA. To prevent any nasty surprises, it would be wise to wait and see before making a decision.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds gets huge bump from Steam sale. PUBG sold 4.7 million units on PC in June, up significantly from May and only second to its peak month in October 2017. Growth was underpinned by a reduced price point of $19.99 on Steam. PUBG was #9 rank in May 2018.

Meanwhile, WOT is stagnant but still maintains the #8 rank spot in April 2018, May 2018 and June 2018. No change even after giving discount coupons randomly to players. Perhaps this was offset by many unhappy players over the issue of Preferential Match Making and 3/5/7 MM including yours truly. Sorry, I'm an F2P player from June onwards.... #walletisclosed

Will July earnings be increased due to the relocation of the Asia server from Singapore to Hong Kong? i.e. Closer to two of the largest gaming markets in the world...

Top 100 Countries/Markets by Game Revenues

The Korean server closed down due to the lack of players a while ago and I don't think it will make much difference. Even after the server move, there has been a small increase of up to 13K players on peak hours on the HK server compared to around 12K on the SG server. I suppose WoT does not appeal to majority of Korean and Japanese players.

Perhaps more overpriced weebo anime tanks in the coming future to attract them...

Only time will tell...

WG has been giving out 30% anniversary coupons last month. If you created your account in August and played WoT for a number of years; maybe you could get one. I don't know the conditions nor the exact number of years to be eligible for this coupon, but going by the popularity stats of WoT, I think a year would qualify.

Unlike previously given coupons, this one actually allows a player to either buy 25K Gold or 90 Days Premium account (max) with 30% discount.



Tempting but I'll need to think it over.... I haven't forgotten about the Gold that I still have from the Christmas Loot Boxes. That comes without decorations...

No 50TP Prototyp and the choices are limited <Link> The discount offer isn't that great and probably targeted to new WOT players. Skip this and wait for 30% sales discounts and coupons for Tier VIII premium tanks.

With the current 3/5/7 MM you are definitely not upping your game.

Cologne Gamescom 2018 camouflage is available in the ingame Preset Styles menu for a whopping 1750 Gold (MYR 33.12) since August 16th IIRC. The emblem on the turret is the shield from the coat of arms of Cologne.

Now there are two Tier VII medium tanks that are available in the premium shop and both are based on historical tanks that saw combat in WW2. The other one being the Panther/M10. Interestingly the T26E5 is categorized as a Tier VIII Premium Heavy Tank that looks similar but has better specs than the Eagle 7 and is now 15% off on sale. Whatever it takes to make a quick buck eh WG? On the plus side, it isn't another weebo tank. Personally, I'd recommend to wait for better discounts before purchasing ANY premium tank and keep your resources for the upcoming marathon. <Link>

I wasn't able to post regarding the Battle of Kursk mission earlier....
After 50 days of daily missions to get the Kursk Fire Bulge camo style reward: Mission accomplished and I'm glad its finally over. The missions are relatively easy but finding time to play it daily consistently isn't that convenient. Most importantly I learnt the significance of the duration of the Battle of Kursk.

Dungeon Fighter Online overtook League of Legends in taking the top spot in sales revenue for PC games in July 2018. Summer holidays and a low PC system requirements probably plays a part on the sales increase. Whom can resist the allure of 2D side scrolling fighting RPG MMO with anime characters now including Hatsune Miku... F2P and the best part is, all DLCs for a price less than a WoT Tier VIII premium pixel tank. Been there done that a long time ago.

World of Tanks sales continue to remain stagnant despite summer holidays, update 1.0.2 release and the following major in game events in July.

YoY comparison shows a decline in sales revenue compared to last year. WG's release of 6 new premium tanks for the period of May to July and another 2 in August together with mid year 30% sales did not make an impact on sales revenue. Hello WG? Maybe you should focus on fixing the 3/5/7 MM instead...



It is with sadness to say that Rocket League® has overtaken WoT in PC games global popularity since June 2018. With the current 40% off promotion, it cost only MYR 22.80 for the basic game package. That's less than camo styles sold for 1750 Gold in game.
I strongly believe that WG's Perfecting Preferential Premiums article in May 21st and revised EULA in June 15th made a negative impact on WoT's popularity. Unlike Koreans, majority of Japanese gamers play on consoles and handhelds. 2018 Tokyo Game Show is only a few weeks away... Would be interesting to see what WG's plans for September...
