QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Jul 15 2015, 10:41 PM) yes that may have been (sadly) required in order to build the hsbb. but now that is more or less built, is there any strong argument to keep the status quo ? we no longer have the last mile issue or even the international (undersea cable for bandwidth) issue. Maxis 100MB heard is really fast..Got a friend subscribe in Puchong and he told me no regrets at all since there is no quota at all..so isn't it about time we open up ? |

QUOTE(eternity4av @ Jul 16 2015, 12:07 PM) I just came back from TM point Port Klang. Luckily managed to catch up with the employees before they closed at 12pm. *Unifi 50Mbps with FTA HyppTV 229 what is FTA?Yeah, unfortunately, it's not available yet Yes, you are right, so far in southern Selangor area, only 4 areas covered. No Cap will be imposed across all Unifi packages. Yes, this seems to available. I was surprised that they have different tier of package prices for the same speed. Even some is riding on 20MBps for only 199. What is concrete for now is, TM seems had pre-planned their Product launch tentatively, after Raya & after Merdeka. For e.g Unifi 30Mbps with FTA HyppTV 199 Unifi 30Mbps/5Mbps with HyppTV package 210.94 *Unifi 50Mbps with FTA HyppTV 229 Didn't manage to ask much as I wouldn't want to interrupt them as they're celebrating Raya soon. But Kudos to them for their warm response even from 100 on Raya Eve! Is this info reliable ? This post has been edited by christina1: Jul 16 2015, 01:37 PM |

Feedback from friend working in TM told me don't be greedy guys. 10MB and 20MB is enough for home users why u guys need 30 or 50MB ?
He suggest just wait couple of months till TM comes with new promotion than upgrade if u guys wish to upgrade.. |

QUOTE(Icehart @ Jul 18 2015, 02:53 PM) That is true. I just spoke to a TM reseller and it appear that September is the launching date for internet packages without Hyptv bundle. Estimate price for 50Mbps is RM 219 excluding GST. If this is true will upgrade straight to 50MB RM 219 excluding GST than since contract gonna expire in August But Maxis 20Mbps is tempting though, RM 178 if you are a Maxis OnePlan Subscriber. |

QUOTE(Kirino2012 @ Jul 18 2015, 05:17 PM) well i just got call by tmnet for upgrade frm my unifi10 to 50mbps for free, no charges at all, no reapplying or anything. well i just say yes, then just confirming some information. How much you paying? after around 1 week, got an email ive just got upgraded n need reset modem. reset modem n bam, got upgraded. well actually 10 is wayyy more than enough for me lol, i dont care for any upgrade anyway. i just play some online games n very rarely download any movies or stuff, just that sometimes games got veryyyyy huge n that take sometime but still for me 10mbps its overpowered XD [attachmentid=4614764] well the high ping is that im using homeplug, plug straight to router i think u will get around 5-8ms [attachmentid=4614773][attachmentid=4614774] heres some example of download speed, i think u will get around 6-6.5mb every second [attachmentid=4614807] well ive try download a bunch of anime 1080p n see how it goes, put on torrent went to bath, after just around 30min ive got all thez files lol well do we really need this much speed......... |

QUOTE(Icehart @ Jul 18 2015, 06:45 PM) Funny how people are complaining about Streamyx 5 years ago about slow download speed and now people have too much speed to utilize and don't know what to do with it. With 50MB connection you can download 19.1GB per hour.....I think TM has improved in terms of quality and speed. Just the pricing now... Imagine can you download this much files in 1day. Per-day can reach up to 459.0GB if there is no quota at all. |

QUOTE(^Ware^wolf @ Jul 19 2015, 11:15 PM) Why do u need to download non stop since 50mbps ? Yeap u are right shorter download time with 50MBFaster internet means shorter time to download files , it doesn't mean u need to download 500gb in 24hours.. I would appreciate if I can download 4gb files in 15mins...no need to wait too long time ... |

QUOTE(raynman @ Jul 22 2015, 10:45 AM) Yes. Well according to them user prefer more download speed than upload speed. Both VIP10 and VIP20 offer synchronous (same) upload/download bandwidth. I don't understand why TM sees a need to reduce the upload bandwidth for no apparent reason in their new offerings. This post has been edited by christina1: Jul 22 2015, 10:49 AM |

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Jul 22 2015, 10:52 AM) bandwidth cost money. so they take the opportunity to lower upload so u use less bandwidth. So its advisable to stick with ur current VIP10 or 20MB ?some broadband packages like ftth can ul/dl same speed. but sometimes they intentionally nerf it this way to save on costs .... though the technology itself is not limited in this way like adsl was. |

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Jul 22 2015, 11:06 AM) well dl speed is much more important than ul. Mostly I am using my VIP 10 to download stuff from torrent and hear online radio...hardly upload stuff.ul is limited usage, most general users wouldn't even notice. but if your like me and do live streaming on twitch tv, or hosting a NAS from home, then yeah upload is important. 10mbps for me is sufficient. but if you wanna stream 1080p, faster is better, maybe 30mbps ul ? i'm waiting for the 50/10 ul/dl which is cheaper come september. few people already said they confirm tmnut is having a internet only package with a cheaper price come sept :} so i wait. Think should stick with 10MB or wait till September for better deal. |
