Just a quick check. Does HK charge any VAT for watches? If yes, how does the refund process work? Travelling to HK soon, plan to window shop some Rolex while at there.

There's no tax in HK. Also there's no SS watches there lol unless it's grey.

Picked up some additional cub Winders. It is debatable if one should use it but I don't care tongue.gif I quite like the look of it and use it mainly for storing my watches rather than winding it.

The older I get the more Beng I become sweat.gif

You should see my shoes laugh.gif laugh.gif

Funny you should say that... I'm in my 40s now and I am starting to appreciate gold watches. Mind you not yellow gold but I don't mind Rose/Pink gold to be honest. I just bought a pink gold dress watch this year and I loved it!

So much so I even bought the ion plated gold gshock too biggrin.gif but no gold shoes for me lol

age really does change our tastes in things... if you asked me 10 years ago i'd tell you i would rather die than getting a gold watch, let alone a rolex lol

and yes!! i saw your golden G-Shock, loved the lighting on your photos  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

Same here. In fact, I had the chance to get it in white gold but then if I were to get a gold watch, I was thinking why get one that looks like stainless steel. hmm.gif
As for gold watches, I think it had the wrong connotation and association. It depends on how one wears and carries it tastefully.

I read on TRF that someone managed to swap dials for the 15400 during a routine service after his warranty expired. But AP forgot to swap out his date wheel to a blue one so it looks a bit odd. I believe he has since rectified the oversight with AP SC.
I didn’t pay with cash. I paid with card. Very scary to bring so much cash around during these economic times.

Hopefully we get enough people so can start an Audemars Piguet subforum instead of squatting in the Rolex subforum.

We need a VC subforum too sweat.gif laugh.gif

Nice one buddy! Is it easy to change to the nato?
Here’s my Tudor “trinity”. How I wish they release a 58ver of the harrods!

It's actually an aftermarket rubber strap. Not a fan of the Nato tbh.
Changing it is ok as long as you have the right tools and be really careful. It's snug but a bit of patience is needed to ensure the lugs are not scratched.

looks like everest straps? are they?

no gaps which makes it tidy

It's actually by Vanguard straps which I much preferred for smaller wrist. The strap tapers down compared to Everest which leaves a small gap between the strap and wrist.

I just got a message from the VC Boutique to keep a lookout for a delivery tomorrow unsure.gif They're sending a gift for the mid Autumn Festival.
It's crazy that they keep sending gifts, not that I'm complaining but such an incredible gesture and a breath of fresh air moving away from Rolex ADs.

Congrats bro.

It’s one of the many perks of buying new. VC does take care of their clients much better than most other brands. The way they treat you makes me feel a bit jealous.

I love their Overseas and quick strap change system. And your posts about them throwing freebies around for their clients makes me seriously considering a VC as my next watch instead of another AP..
*
Maybe VC is trying to guilt trip me with gifts so I would buy another watch from them laugh.gif

I'm waiting for their 100th Anniversary American 1921 next year. Will have to see what's being released. I may even sell off the hulk for another VC blink.gif

Lol. They can install a robot there instead of hiring sales assistant. Just need to program the robot to shout out “no stock” for every customer that walks into the boutique. They can also program the robot to point the customers to the door after shouting “no stock”.

AP prices are catching up with PP after triple price increases locally last year. The highest price increase is on their perpetual calendar models which jumped quite a huge margin.

Even my poorfag AP model got a price bump to 90K+ at retail and people are still grabbing them as they become available in the market due to the affordable price. I see a lot of new incomings in the Audemars Piguet section in Rolex Forums are Offshore Divers.

VC Blue Dial Overseas is also starting to get the hype, most likely a spillover as they can't get other SS sports. It's now a boutique exclusive model. Luckily it is still isn't as crazy but never know.

Is there a VC Boutique in Malaysia or it's just sold through ADs?

No VC boutique. My point of contact for VC is Cortina watches. If you need the mobile phone number of my favorite sales assistant in Cortina, you can PM me.

No worries. I was just curious. I'm residing in the Uk but could be handy if i'm back for holidays.

As for Rolex availability in uk, it's equally as bad here.

I really like the American 1921 in the smaller size. Wondering if it's available in KL, discounts would be nice.

Maybe it's time you guys jump ship to Vacheron Constantin biggrin.gif No need for all the Rolex headaches and waiting lists.

Thought I'd share my VC experiences again. I had a delivery posted through the door today but I don't recall ordering anything online. It was another lovely surprise by VC to send a personal greeting and a box of angpows which was unexpected but a generous gesture. I thought the whiskies they sent previously were to celebrate CNY but this came through as an addition.

rx330 time to give VC a call and book an appointment with them.

Kelvw You should demand commission from VC representatives for doing so well in promoting their brand..

LOL I demand a HQ visit. It shouldn't cost them much for an all-expenses-paid for hmm.gif sweat.gif
I wonder if VC ADs or ADs in Msia are similarly as generous with gifts? hmm.gif

Don't remind me of depreciating value especially VC dress watches cry.gif lol. On a brighter note, I have the enjoyment of appreciating fine watchmaking. And don't forget the VC swags too lol.

I knew of a chap and all he talks about is how much his Rolex is appreciating and hoping to buy an AP RO for investment. When I started to talk haute horologie, he's never heard of any of the watchmakers doh.gif Quite sad really but the reality is Rolex is king to the majority.

The PAM debacle and it never recovered from it. There's so many on the pre-own market now. I do like some of it and I like how easy it is to change the straps.
