alignment - RM20
balancing - RM7 per tire

then they told me, "Your chamber need adjustment because got lari sikit" and pointed to the screen which shows...

L: -1.2 (red)
R: -0.3 (green)

these chamber adjustments cost RM25 per tire so it was RM50 for both front tires.

how much do you guys paid for chamber adjustments if needed?

Adjust camber normally RM20 per tire
Alignment around RM20-RM25
Tire balancing is RM5 per tire

But of course this is a general pricing

Different vehicle types will get different pricing

Normal pricing:

Balancing: RM5 to 10 per tire
High-speed balancing (on-wheel): RM10 to 15 per tire
Alignment: RM20 to 25 per section (front or rear)
Camber adjustment: RM25 to 30 per tire
Camber screw: RM30 to 35 per piece
Tampal tayar: RM5 to 7 per hole

any higher than above can be considered overcharging.

tire rotation shouldn't cost any to be honest.

I think we need to compile the list of shops that provide cheapest service for balancing/alignment.

Long time ago I thought RM 50 for balancing/alignment is cheap.
Now I found another shop that charges only RM 25 for balancing/alignment.
I have been using them since then.

if you are using standard absorbers with no suspension mods, you do not need to worry about camber at all.

sometimes, we just want to go for alignment and balancing but halfway during the work, the shop might want to add like camber settings are out, and when they found out you have already got the 'adjustable camber screw', they will told you the screw may need replacement because already being 'abused' etc

the location is in sri rampai, in rampai business park.
the shop name is pjl united.
it has big continental signage.

the tyres there are expensive, but the alignment/balancing is good.
some services is good but some service is just so so.

Did my Alignment + Balancing for all 4 wheels @ RM49 + 6% tax. So total was RM51.95.
Not sure whether they're allowed to charge the tax though.

I'd say the price is reasonable.
Mine was done at Equine Autocare (Goodyear).

Those shops are bullshit. Everytime i go to make alignment/balancing they will show numbers on the machine which i dont understand shit.

Just think about it. Have u ever go to alignment shop and they say your alignment is STILL alright and no need to adjust anything?
*
when u drive on malaysian road how can u expect the alignment to be alright each time u check?

Ive been driving for at least 5 years. U think i dont know how to avoid potholes? My friends all know how careful i drive, they always ask me "why i drive like unker?"

U think the car industry so stupid to make lauyah shock absorbing system?
If all car alignment is this fragile then better dont make car lahh.

Camber alignment is not that hard to adjust, what else the nuts. If so expensive then it is supposed to hold and not being move every time u hit a pothole! Its what camber nuts are designed to do.

Their machine also donno how long never calibrate. Bought cheap from china with no maintenance.

I think camber and alignment service is scam. Shop can sell cheap tire but their margin proit actually come from "camber adjust and nuts"

But of course, this is just my opinion.
*
good explaination..then u should avoid doing alignment for your car.everytime the tyres botak, changing tyres are enough.
as i know, alignment machine ain't cheap though even it is from china.noticed most shop used branded machines like wonder and corghi for most place.maybe coincidently u went to the lower end shop using china machines with no maintainance.so chill ya..

camber adjustment is when tayarman want to con you.. on a serious side, if you are on standard absorbers & springs, high unlikely you will need camber adjustment..

normal wheel alignment should cover toe and caster (and additionally, camber) adjustments.

caster adjustment is not covered in toe adjustment.u dont need to adjust caster for normal passenger cars unless there is hard collision that caused the caster displacement.caster adjustment normally only applied for 4x4 cars that have camber/caster adjustment kit at the lower arm area.camber adjustment is more likely,as we changing car parts like lower arm, suspension system, bearing, hitting the pot hole long term caused the camber displacement.

I had good experience with Kim Heng Tyre in SS14 many many years ago.

2-3 years ago I made enquiries at a few SS15 tyre shops in the row facing SS17, I didn't proceed with any of them as they appears to me to be so so and hence lack of confidence with them.

Having said that, subsequently I proceeded with one recommended shop (on lowyat.net) in Jalan Klang Lama and regretted and frustrated with its workmanship making the wheel alignment worse off.

2 questions on its workmanship quality of wheel alignment, namely:

1) During straight ahead driving on straight roads with both hands holding tight and firmly on the steering wheel, is the steering wheel straight on and on-centre without being crooked either side even by 2 mm or more?

2) During straight ahead driving on straight roads with both hands temporarily taken off the steering wheel, can all the 4 tyres of a car remains within the same lane for 8 seconds or more at say, 90 km/hr constant speed?

After alignment, it should be straight. some caveats. Honda CRV (4th gen) and vellfire (not sure which year model), even though alignment has been done, will still pull to one side after alignment.

Of course the alignment mechanic can adjust it to 'counter' pull, to make it nicely straight. But will have more wear and tear.

Thanks for responding.

Vehicle pulling (or drifting) to either side after paying for a wheel alignment job is always a *misalignment* in itself, often disguised by incompetent local practitioners as 'normal and that's the way it is' .

It's not true that an adjustment 'countering' the vehicle pull would cause increased tyre wear.

It appears to me this Shall Alam alignment shop is just like any other incompetent practitioners commonly found in local market, as I'd encountered.....sighhhh...

I might want to differ. Just 1 thing to think about, do our roads really flat surface? if rain how the water flow if really flat surface? icon_idea.gif

As per what he said, normally when owners complain no straight they will play with the toe - + thus why you can see why usually the front left tires wear very fast especially the outer side wall threads. I already knew this since in secondary school as i knew few tire shop owners son and they feedback to me the best is follow the allignment machine settings and do tire rotation frequently. Some owners dont believe them and keep complaining and they tell customer go shopping complex car park (which is more flat surface) to try drive around as shop allignment machine is on flat surface and wont be the same as actual road condition outside. So some sifu in order not to get complaints will adjust again especially after test drive, thus why you can see usually they test driven and adjust few times manually before pass to customer but if you request to go up allignment machine again after the adjustment sure reading will out again.

Not sure how much exp you have, but if you send a few cars for alignment and fix/maintain your car with your own hands, then you will know better.
