QUOTE(davido @ Dec 2 2015, 01:09 PM) Thank you all. I will try to check MV. Just be careful because last time I bought from MV and they had Ich which infected my tank. Since then I'd quarantine any fish from MV. the es-150 filter goes for 600 I've never heard of this, but it sure looks interesting. Can share more info please? Price? Location? the es-300 filter goes for 1100 the es-300 filter goes for 1280 these are the prices quoted to me by a facebook page called Shrimp Friends Malaysian -SFM but they take rather long to reply and arent that keen to sell, like the customer service is a bit meh operate out of negeri sembilan if i'm right and will only do cod in KL Sentral if not postage but another page is called CRS Aquatic and their services are a bit better although also take some time to reply i suggest you contact whatever the number is given on the page by whatsapp for a slightly faster response these guys operate in melaka ordered the es-150 for a new project with a 2 feet tank hopefully it'll be enough and just as good as ADA |

QUOTE(davido @ Dec 3 2015, 01:34 PM) Yes, a review would be nice. I'm looking more at the ES1200 though. Alright, will go have a look, thanks seijyuro. About fish food. Yes I used to have that problem on my 2 footer. Its a common problem though, that oil slick is bacteria film buildup. I use ADA fish food, but still have that problem. I fixed it by using a glass surface skimmer. Although many people have that problem, and many reasons abound about the cause. But I think it is due to the pump being unsuitable for the tank size. The bio filter may be too small, or the flow rate is too low. If you don't want to change the pump, a glass surface skimmer can help. Let us know if the fish food solves the problem as we're all learning As for food, i looked it up and apparently its because if you feed using your hands, or touching. The oil from your hands will transfer to the food and into the water. Thats why ADA has that glass looking feeder. Could be real, could be a marketing ploy, who knows. Anither reason as i read somehwhere and backed up by a shop is because you sometimes have to put bacteria in it. Or the shop i grt it from does it every monthly. This being because the bacteria currently in the tank will age and die, becoming a layer of oil on top of the water. I didnt know what to do so i got OF surface skimmer and it did the trick. But when i switched from a normal HOB on my 1 foot tank to a fluval c2 HOB i found that it was redundant because there was no more oil. Granted the water flow is stronger but not too overpowering and that it had a active carbon and bio ring area, made the oil dissapear i guess. So now i have no use of using my skimmer. So if anyone would like mine, lemme know |

QUOTE(artsyfarty @ Dec 3 2015, 02:55 PM) ah, so no points changing fish food. I used to have an inflow which is also a surface skimmer, but I accidentally broke it in half while cleaning it. I use that famous china brand, ocean free. Got it from aquascape paradise for about 250 ish. But weijie i saw was selling for about the same price and the manual regulator for 100 ish. I think so. Not sure if can get separate parts of if available. Nuce to know can get though. And, today is a bad day, I just found out my CO2 regulator leaking, and there's no way to fix it but to replace it! The solenoid is attached to the regulator as well, I have to replace the whole thing..... ahhhhh... What brand do you guys use and how much roughly? Need to get a replacement asap. |

QUOTE(Seijyuro @ Dec 6 2015, 02:13 PM) the chihiros jet filter? maybe the 600 model since you have a two footer. met edmund of shrimpoly and he quoted me RM1450 for the 600 model. got to examine the 300 model and i have to admit, apart from the motor, the whole filter looked identical to ADA. the build quality was superb and the clips on it were tough so i'd expect no water leakages. and if you're worried about the motor, because apparently ADA uses Suzuki motor hence its reliability, i have seen other aquascapers change the motor to a Eheim universal pump like this https://www.eheim.com/en_GB/products/techno.../universal-1200 so if you're worried about the motor replacement, not to worry, a solution is there already. if not i saw xian long in shah alam had a sale on fluval canister filter and they prices were starting from around 360 for the 106 canister filter like this http://www.fluvalaquatics.com/us/product/A...r/#.VmP7tCuUcUI Attached thumbnail(s) |
