QUOTE(danny_sp15 @ Mar 25 2015, 07:50 PM) Im new too. Yes, it is micranthemum. the Hair grass seem like not growing.Just personal opinion, i think the plant on left and right (micranthemum?) should put a bit to the back. Not suitable as foreground unless it's short or forms a carpet. Let the hairgrass fill the front, and perhaps the micranthemum can creep a bit at the left and right. will look more spacious. if u dont mind me asking, may i know what kind of lighting do u use? i m using T5 light 2x QUOTE(kimimaro_kun @ Mar 28 2015, 12:14 PM) planning to. previously using HOB b4 plant. |

QUOTE(kimimaro_kun @ Sep 4 2015, 05:49 PM) where to get the h2o2QUOTE(jctasoga @ Sep 5 2015, 08:58 AM) solve the underlying issues : 1) excess light - reduce lighting period by 1/2hr each day (open for 8 hours perday)1) excess light - reduce lighting period by 1/2hr each day 2) excess feeding - feed less or alternate days 3) excess nutrient to plants your BGA is only localized? if yes, possible is your water flow in that area not enough too? kimimaro's chemical warfare also will help too but i usually leave it until the last straw. 2) excess feeding - feed less or alternate days (should be not this) 3) excess nutrient to plants (should be not this) water flow seem good. hangon filter |

QUOTE(jctasoga @ Sep 7 2015, 01:31 PM) hi @doraemon9078, icic, but i think is coz of my lazy cause it. coz previously i dun care, let the plant crawl all over the tank. the nutrients maybe need to cut back as well and then increase it later on. because if its either work of light or nutrient that causes algae. for the lighting period, u may want to reduce it to 6hours. if there are signs for any trouble, you may reduce it even further. FYI, my 4ft tank only turn lights on for 4-5 hours using led 40W (but mine is red/blue growlight) so far it reduced my BBA which is even more headache. plants seems doesn;t mind the reduced light wattage (previous on same 4-5 hours photoperiod). hope it helps in your case. now renovate & re-plant, realise those algae is come out nearby the soil there QUOTE(kimimaro_kun @ Sep 7 2015, 04:06 PM) no wonder, i go to aquarium shop ask. they dunno what is that |

QUOTE(kevin613 @ Jan 5 2016, 10:41 PM) 1) flying fox is Epalzeorhynchus kalopterus, Crossocheilus oblongus is Siamese Algae Eater. Both different species though they look very very similar that some seller are confused and labelled them wrongly.. but i go to the fish shop and see, it only written "siamese flying fox"read http://www.thekrib.com/Fish/Algae-Eaters/ for more info.. not sure it is the same or not |

QUOTE(kevin613 @ Jan 6 2016, 08:43 PM) the next time u go, try to snap a photo of the fish.. i bought my siamese algae eater, thinking that they were OTO in the first place, then after reading various sources online for a day or 2 that i notice that there are many variants of algae eaters.. if it's Siamese algae eater, the fins should be clear without any color, and the black bar on body should extend to the tail. see my attached photo(pardon the white balance, shot with mobile phone) QUOTE(usmanjailani @ Jan 7 2016, 10:26 AM) better u save some oto catfish flying fox and sae picture in your phone for reference.. thanks Kevin613 & usmanjailani, there is quite obvious differences between SAE and OTO..OTO is a catfish species(i think), so it has that flat+wide head just like ikan keli and SAE is somehow looks like ikan bilis..and please be careful, you might confuse between SAE, CAE(useless but some shop claim it is algae eater because its look like SAE), Flying Fox, and OTO..just prepare some picture so u can refer while looking at the fish live infront.. [attachmentid=5721360] i'll just share some picture posted in some aquascape groups..hope it might help.. ooooic..so co2 is running 24hours?.tak lemas?..haha.. yaa...quite yellowish..it from previous owner..later i'll change it.. currently i have OTO fish in my tank, can i add on the SAE in? |
