I have a potential "big" project coming up. My house fish tank is in tatters and I have no idea how to fix it. Hope everyone here is friendly enough to help out. Will update soon.

QUOTE(jctasoga @ Jun 18 2015, 01:17 PM) if you want us to help, you need to provide the pictures or description of the problems. we will see what are the best options. if its too much work, it will be recommended to get new. yes i'll be posting up the pictures soon. it's an old aquarium and it used to be a salt water tank but my dad found it too high maintenance and changed it to a freshwater tank. there are these sections in the aquarium that i don't truly understand. i'll post the pics soon when i have the time.cheers. |

Here is my tank. I'm a complete newbie so pardon me. I'm not sure if the filter thing at the left corner of the tank is a salt water only feature and whether it's removable. For convenience sake I'm actually considering to convert it into a rock and sand only cichlid tank if a planted tank is too inconvenient. Please advise.

thanks for the advice. i need to ask my dad about the details with the tank as he knows it better. i don't think there is a heater, not sure what that thing is though. thinking of getting smaller cichlid species.
