No sad.gif I'm just dosing excel.  Then I found out the lamp is 13W not 15W. Probably not enough light. Now then I found out that I should do EI dosing as well.

Well I found the info from here saying monte carlo could grow without co2 but will need liquid carbon. http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/showthread.php?t=644058

Yea MC need co2. Liquid carbon will help, but it wont thrive as compared to using co2.

just came back from home fair and saw some interesting LED downlight, anybody try to use down light for their planted aquarium before?
example is one round shape down light diameter abt 18cm, power output stated there as 12w with 6500k (cool daylight) spectrum.. like this can be diy to use as aquarium light for planted tank? just need to add timer and plug then it is done miah miah miah cheapskate idea.

Itll only concentrate in one spot rather than the whole tank.. I use 12000k bulbs total of 96W for my 3ft.

If u wanna budget kan, buy LED strips, DIY the housing to put on top of the tank. Fill the housing with the LED strips. Hehe. Trying to do that, gonna survey for LED strips this weekend. tongue.gif

plant to start a new 3 feet or 2 feet planted tank..
should i go for crystal glass? or i should just go for ordinary glass ...
any different beside the "HD" view?
like any benefits of using crystal glass for planted tank?
*
Long term satisfaction for crystal glass. Its a one time thing anyways

Hi guys, any ideas what lights to use for an 8x2x2 tank? I bought some led t8 lights but its not enough. My vallis are melting. Thought of getting two 4ft aquazonic lights but too pricey lah.

So appreciate if u guys can give some ideas for cheaper DIY-ish lights, and also where to buy?

TIA
