2bps should be enough. else if u start to see ur fish gasping for air, try to reduce it a bit
*

it'll be a long time before i could :/
gotta save up and get part by part of the project
so far just the filter and driftwood
next is lights, any suggestions?
i  use a t5 for my 1 foot tank and led for my 1.5 foot tank.
so i'm not sure what to opt for my 2 footer.
i kinda wana go with ADA but if my budget doesnt pan out then at least i have a second option.
*
If you like the look of ADA Aquasky series, then go for Chihiros Aquasky.

ah, so no points changing fish food. I used to have an inflow which is also a surface skimmer, but I accidentally broke it in half while cleaning it.  doh.gif

And, today is a bad day, I just found out my CO2 regulator leaking, and there's no way to fix it but to replace it! The solenoid is attached to the regulator as well, I have to replace the whole thing..... ahhhhh...

What brand do you guys use and how much roughly? Need to get a replacement asap.
*
it is possible to get regulator and solenoid separately.
you can look into that option. it sure is more flexible and cheaper to replace.

Hey davido, that's the brand I'm using, and one of the meter start leaking co2.

I'm thinking to get a regulator with separated solenoid.
*
definitely good choice, cheaper to replace as well.
or you can get a good regulator from the beginning.

I'm currently saving for Intense CO2 Regulator with solenoid.

Ahhh... thanks for the insight, that could be an issue. How long does your current regulator lasted?

I have a question about co2 tank, do you turn open the tank valve to fully opened (before passing through regulator) or just slightly opened?
*
try to keep the pressure within the optimal range which means you have to play with tank and regulator valve,
as long as it's not over nor under pressure, the regulator should last.

Here's my Intense. It become my spare because the o-ring is so fragile. Leaks too easily.
*
how come? I heard Intense is supposed to be well known for its durability?

If the durability is top notch, the premium price is something I can live with.

Yeah, this Intense cost me over RM4xx and that was some years back. The reason why I paid premium price was because I messed up the cheap (so-called) Up-Aqua regulator. So I thought get a good one - once and for all.

At first, Intense worked well. But on the first refill, the o-ring started to leak. So I changed the o-ring. It was an original ring, and it was like RM30 I think. the shop is Pets Wonderland Ikano.

A few days later, my tank went empty. So I refilled again, and few days later, empty again. A lot of troubleshooting, until I sent the whole CO2 tank with regulator back to the shop. They set it all up nicely for me. I happily take it back. And you guessed it, a few days later, tank empty again. Sent for warranty claims, came back 1 week later. Same thing.

Fed up. Bought an MD. Case closed. Been working fine for 8 months now.

The seller Algaefarmer advised me - I don't know true or not. He says this type of hand tighten regulators are prone to O-ring leakages. But MD is spannar tightened. The o-ring is about 1 cm thick. He says no leakages, so that was my story tongue.gif

funny though that Intense can have this kind of problem as it is suppose to be durable and top quality regulator.
gotta do more search and look for review on this regulator.

the chihiros jet filter?
maybe the 600 model since you have a two footer.
met edmund of shrimpoly and he quoted me RM1450 for the 600 model.
got to examine the 300 model and i have to admit, apart from the motor, the whole filter looked identical to ADA.
the build quality was superb and the clips on it were tough so i'd expect no water leakages.
and if you're worried about the motor, because apparently ADA uses Suzuki motor hence its reliability, i have seen other aquascapers change the motor to a Eheim universal pump like this

https://www.eheim.com/en_GB/products/techno.../universal-1200
so if you're worried about the motor replacement, not to worry, a solution is there already.

if not i saw xian long in shah alam had a sale on fluval canister filter and they prices were starting from around 360 for the 106 canister filter like this

instead of guppy, i suggest a black molly, who can try to break the film for you.

or why not just install a lily pipe? do a night aeration, better and a lot nicer for the tank right?
i would recommend eheim 2215 though =)
*
yea eheim classic 350 (2215), just what I have in mind.
wanted ecco pro 200, but the price...

My vote goes to eheim classic - unless you want to go for premium brands like ADA or the chihiros.
*
Chihiros not really premium, just a copy of ADA.
Should go for either eheim classic 350 (2215) or Fluval 206
