Hi guys, I’m looking into this hobby. Went to a shop nearby my house in Setia Alam and they sell Kintons aquarium & cabinet (aluminum). Is this brand good? Or where else I can see more variant of aquarium & cabinet in KL/Selangor? I’m looking for 2ft tank. Where else can I get good range of products nearby? Thanks!

Got my 2 ft tank from Aquaworld Yap - at Selanyang.
about 650RM

there are other seller- eg CC tank murah in FB

are you sure you want to start with 2ft? aquascaping is quite challenging
personally i would suggest to start with 30cm, or 40cm cube tank

are you going for high tech or low tech? have you got the complete equipment list?

ps: not familiar with Kinston- but sounds like arcylic tank. it will get scratches.
btw- you may also drop by Xian Long- they have lots of hardware and fish stock. though not exactly aquascape shop.

Specialized shops which i am familiar with are
>Aquacult damansara
>Aquascape paradise
>Natural - SS19
>Nilufar Atria

Do perform your research first, and check out some fantastic youtube like GreenAqua, Cinescaper, Jurijs etc

Hi thanks for your reply.

I am planning for low tech tank, probably with cannister, without CO2. I am thinking of 2ft tank due to the available space, and it would be a 1-time investment for the tank & cabinet.

Thanks for the suggestion on the youtube. I watched Jurijs but his method is so high tech now and make everything looks so simple sweat.gif

If you want low tech, check out MD Fish Tanks. His tank mainly without co2 and using diy cheap light.

2ft tank is a sweet spot to start with and easier to maintain over time. 40cm cube tank is also fun to play with, good height for lots of background plants.

Thanks for the recommendation, MD Fish Tanks makes everything looks easy at low tech (some even without filter).

If you want somewhere near Setia Alam, perhaps you could try Beebies Shrimp Aquatic Pets. It's near Bukit Raja. The owners (young Chinese couple) seem knowledgeable so you can ask them for advice on setting up your tank.

Thanks for the recommendation!

I just started my tank last week, now it’s been 9 days since I setup. I noticed this Murdannia green is acting weird. It grows very fast, but the leaves at the bottom are slightly brown. Any issue on this? I do 20% water change daily. No CO2 yet.

Do you dose any fertilizer? My best guess is you're missing some macronutrients.
Nope so far. As the soil is new, I'm afraid with fert will bloom the algae.

Most of the guide of ferts online are based on CO2 tank. My tank is non-CO2, shall I put all the macro & micro ferts as advised? Since the plant are growing slower due to non-CO2. Will it cause algae bloom? Any entry ferts recommended?
