QUOTE(ayammerah @ Feb 28 2019, 03:42 PM) i have 2 8month's old kittens at home few possibilities here. I was just scared this cat cannot survive on its own if he is abandoned. So thinking maybe I should take care for a while and then send to SPCA this weekend. My kittens at home are quite territorial and budgeting wise I can take care of 2 cats at the moment. cat was neutered n tipped. adopted, and abandoned b4 u saw him. cat been surviving on the street for some time, n kena neutered by feeder. you can try to post online to get adopter, instead of sending to spca, cos spca is always full to the brim.. n his fate there is uncertain. |

I have noticed that " Taste of the wild" is the cheapest " grain free " cat dry food here in malaysia.
Roughly ~ RM17.XX per KG. ( 7kg bag) My issue with TOTW is that at the sides of the bag, there are many tiny perforations, to let the air out. If air can go out, air can also go into the bag, it is just tiny holes. That is why, you can see all TOTW bags are sealed in a clear plastic bag, I presume done by the local importer, to prevent further air or moisture or pollutants from going into the bag. ( pic from internet ) ![]() These days majority of pet food packaging does not have these perforation anymore. Some are even vacuum sealed. Only those " cheaper " range of pet food, have/does this, Brit premium food have holes, Brit care does not. ( more $$$) worst is local brand Power Cat, ( Glory Cat n other what? cat ![]() When i go into pet store, and see some new brand, i will go belek-belek n sniff around to check for holes... I wrote to TOTW about the holes, and these are their "limited" reply. " Thank you for your inquiry. The holes observed on the side gussets of the packaging are referred to as micro perforations. These micro perforations are an essential design element of this packaging in order to allow a filled and sealed bag of pet food to be conveyed and stacked into pallets in as stable a manner as possible. The micro perforations have been part of the pet food packaging design for over 10 years and are only large enough to allow adequate air release for production. I appreciate the time you have taken to contact our company. " This post has been edited by basilisk: Mar 1 2019, 04:08 AM |

QUOTE(kizwan @ Mar 3 2019, 12:57 PM) Maxwell is known not really good. Better get friskies or whiskas. If you want to avoid gelling, for fiskies choose ocean fish or mackerel or tuna because they filled with tuna & less gelling (at most thin layer on top). i bought just one can to see for myself. wht is inside.Kinda redundant I think. The kibbles are packed in clear plastic bag inside of the bag. They already protected form moisture or polluted air. Btw, I think the outer clear plastic bag is mainly to protect it during transport, i.e. from factory to shop/supplier. cos it doesnt state any gel etc. why do you think? or who said/state maxwell is not good? in fact all these maxwell, friskies wiskas etc they are all made in thailand, probably from the same factory, or same series of generic factories that mass produce cheap budget supermarket cat food, tht get their raw ingredient frm the same supplier. for tow packaging. wht do you mean by 'redundant'? i have seen tow 7kg pack tht doesnt not have the outer clear plastic packaging. the outer clear plastic is bagged by the local distributor, not by the factory, as proven by their reply to my email. reason for the holes is so that they can ship more bags, and it will save cost that way. if they wana bag it again with clear plastic. might as well dont make any holes at all in the first place. Just like other brands of cat food. so i dont understand your reply actually. please clarify. This post has been edited by basilisk: Mar 3 2019, 03:52 PM |

Cheap battery operated pet feeder for short term use.
this pet feeder if sold @ pet shop is around rm250 or more. if you buy frm lazada ready stock (not ship from oversea/china) is about rm100+ only. i bought this to feed the cat outside of my hse. this feeder is meant for indoor use only. but with some 'work' short term (2weeks) of outdoor use is possible. But it has to be protected from rain and sun. wrap n taped to prevent water/moisture frm getting in. placed it inside tong sampah to protect frm rain/sun. main disadvantage of this feeder is, some kibble is always trapped inside the chute, and the space there will get soiled with exposed kibble over time. take all apart to clean it properly for storage. QUOTE(kizwan @ Mar 3 2019, 08:59 PM) I doubt maxwell & friskies/whiskas are from same factory. You can check yourself the content between maxwell & friskies/whiskas are different. Well to know for sure you can check on the label from which factory it came from because they are required to include this information on the packaging/label. If not, you can report it to relevant authority. i will check again.. cant remember got state the factory ornot...It is long time ago, I didn't save the article talking about this. I only remember to avoid it. I have tried maxwell & my cats don't like it at all. |

QUOTE(xHj09 @ Mar 3 2019, 11:06 PM) hi all, a stray kitten followed me back about half a year ago, adopted it since. for the past whole month it's been meowing non stop, checked and neutered him last saturday but he's still making lots of noise. gave enough attention etc. vet said he's healthy. food and all ready. i chain him when he's outside, cannot let him wander around freely since my neighbours may complain. any advises on how to keep him quiet? i assume its male? try play wit it until it gets tired. when its older, maybe will be more quiet. u put him in cage or seperate frm you for long time during work? n sleep @ nite? |

QUOTE(xHj09 @ Mar 4 2019, 06:29 PM) yes around his neck, combined multiple leashes to make it very long (owned a few coz i have two dogs as well) if your cat is ok with it. it doesnt struggle or trying to harm himself with the leash, and there is people @ home looking after him,, should be ok. no idea what breed is it. but dont leave him unattended like that. some cats are cool. like the white cat tht clings on to the back of the mat motor balik kampung.. even on the highway, so far he never jumps off. but its very stress to see he has to do that. if your cat, is making noise because he dont like to be leashed like that, then u need to think of other way. if you dont wana let him out of the hse (better dont) you find a time when he can be released inside the hse, with the door close. there r times when its not possible, so put him in a room or a cage. |

QUOTE(madnmud @ Mar 27 2019, 11:34 PM) if you dont want corn, the cheapest tht ive come across is taste of the wild. but u need to buy the 7kg bag to get tht price.7kg =rm120 1kg ~rm17.xx price depends on the dealer, c u can find shop tht can equal or beat that price. im still searching for grain/corn free cat food tht can beat that price. anyway.. dont totally believe any pet food maker, the best food is those tht you prepare yourself. this article highlights the latest lawsuit against diamond pet food tht produce taste of the wild.. https://truthaboutpetfood.com/new-lawsuit-a...te-of-the-wild/ This post has been edited by basilisk: Mar 28 2019, 11:24 AM |

even champion pet food- makers of orijen acana cant run away frm being sued for having 'bad' substance in their pet food.
https://truthaboutpetfood.com/lawsuit-filed...ana-and-orijen/ so is it true or lies? even in the usa, the fda cant help, cant gurantee the safety of pet food. so with the emergence of all sorts of mumbo jumbo brands frm europe.. la brazil la... turkey... china... u imagine la.. can those be trusted... ??.. i think its not 'meat' but meat by products, which should be accurately said as animal by-products.
dont think there is vegeterian cat food in the market. but there is vegetarian dog food kibble, last time from avoderm. This post has been edited by basilisk: Mar 29 2019, 09:15 AM |

this book is a good read, for those who wants to know what is used to make pet food.
![]() 'by products' not as simple as one thought... one will think its the organs of animals... not really... there is way more to it.. for those who wants to read -- what is pet food rendering. http://www.poisonedpets.com/pet-food-rende...ople-want-puke/ This post has been edited by basilisk: Mar 30 2019, 02:27 AM |

QUOTE(Alert_RaZO @ Apr 2 2019, 01:51 PM) No wonder... Midnight i check 91, wake up seller increase to 99. poo not smelly? which rc..? My cat likes rc 😁😁 Then the poo not smelly. I tried blackwood, nature... The poo black and smelly What brand u recommend? i oso wana try giv.. c got difference ornot.. cos food finis liao, time to buy.. thinking of going to pet fiesta to survey.. this weekend. but past experience shows that dealer outside can giv better price than pet fair, summore nid to pay rm5... personally i find cat poo damn smelly, no matter wht they eat oso same.. kenot tahan...the smell.. currently feeding.. brit premium cos price is cheap n ingredient ok ok since got another kitten, hv bought totw for the first time, cos finally found small bag that is not repack punya. totw the smell is faint not strong. rc is good in blending the aroma. cos i hv smell alot of diff type of rc @ fair n all smell very good. tht is very important bcos if food smells good, cat will sure like to eat. oso rc doesnt smell like junk food type of flavouring.. example power cat - smells like keropok ikan.
