QUOTE(Hiiryu @ Jun 30 2007, 08:43 AM) Never, EVER ride your luck and poison the legendary. It ups the catch rate, that's true. But you also run the risk of it dying before you catch it. (And no, 1HP + status effect is not a guarenteed catch and I am sure you know that)Same for burn. Stick to the other non-HP effecting statuses. QUOTE(Pr1me_Minister @ Jun 30 2007, 07:16 PM) Status effect doesn't matter much if you're catching legandaries. I remember Phoenix catching Heatran without status inflicting status effect after previous catch attempts with Hypnosis failed. Ah yes, you still remember my horror story with Milotic and Heatran >_>Legandaries in this 4th gen are much much harder to catch than other generations...... XP EDIT: I still inflict status on them (especially Sleep) because I don't want them to run out of PP and then use Struggle. (and battles that drag like those do happen) This post has been edited by Phoenix_Cypher_K1: Jul 1 2007, 02:24 PM |

Reports over at several forums has state the following (over the last 24 hours):
- In Pokemon Battle Revolution for the Wii, you are no longer allowed to use legendaries (that means Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mewtwo, Mew, Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Ho-Oh, Lugia, Celebi, Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Latias, Latios, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Heatran, Cresselia, Regigigas, Manaphy, Azelf, Uxie, Mesprit, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus) in Random WiFi battles. - You can no longer request for (certain?) legendaries on the GTS for D/P. I personally can't check since I can't get onto GTS (heavy lag). EDIT: I managed to log on. Tried to offer a Palkia (a legit one mind you) for a Dialga. Got a "This Pokemon may not be offered for trade!" message. Game Over. I never managed to try fulfilling, perhaps it still works, but I'm not gonna try seeing that I just got DC'd again. EDIT: It's just a server glitch according to those who called Nintendo. So everything should be fine soon. This post has been edited by Phoenix_Cypher_K1: Jul 4 2007, 03:20 AM |

Hm, just went on GTS. I now can put up legendaries but I cannot respond to any offers by offering a legendary. Hm.

QUOTE(bskaya @ Jul 6 2007, 02:41 PM) Easiest way to catch legendaries in D/P If you're gonna employ that strategy, use Quick Balls since they start off with a fairly huge catch rate.Have Murkrow with Mean Look And catch at night with Dusk Ball. Doesn't really matter if you use the status effect. Only work on the psychic n runner legendaries though. |

Shiny Stone. Find one near the exit of Iron Island's cave maze. Or by Pick Up. Or by Underground. There's also another one somewhere but that I forgot where.

A Charmander and a Ditto. If you want to breed a Charmander without a Ditto, your Charmander must be female and you must have a Pokemon from its egg group.

Er...you obviously need a Charmander if you want a Charmander.
You can catch a Ditto from the grass patch outside Canalave City. You must use the Pokeradar. It is a rare find. |

Go into the grass patch outside Canalave (there is only ONE such patch), and go into the patch (on foot, NOT on a bike!). Activate the Pokeradar, and certain squares of grass will rustle/move. Charmander + Ditto.
Cycle up and down the routes surrounding Solaceon. Check your Poketch Day Care indicator. (Tap it once in a while to up date) See egg on indicator Collect egg Hatch it. (Cycle up and down routes surrounding Solaceon for best effect, works best if you have Camerupt/Magcargo with Magma Armor/Flame Body) This post has been edited by Phoenix_Cypher_K1: Jul 11 2007, 09:26 PM |

QUOTE(madmoz @ Jul 19 2007, 01:01 PM) Go go support piracy somemore ler... I commend you for you disliking piracy. In the case of the event however....See what we are missing http://connectiontour07.nintendo.com.au/ You DO know that there is official presence in Australia right? What does that event not happening here got to do with piracy? We DO have a small official presence (in the form of Maxsoft). If anything, you should ask THEM. Yes, there are several things we miss out due to this. But this is NOT one of them. This post has been edited by Phoenix_Cypher_K1: Jul 19 2007, 08:13 PM |

QUOTE(madmoz @ Jul 19 2007, 08:55 PM) Are you so sure? Nintendo of Australia i know of well cause they exchanged my busted gamecube controllers b4. Even if Malaysia doesn't have such a massive piracy problem as you are (and it is true) implying, did you really seriously think for a second that Nintendo would come here to promote a Pokemon event? Why do we have to rely on Maxsoft? Because the market is so small that nintendo can't be arsed. There is Microsoft Singapore. There is no Nintendo Singapore but seeing that the Wii is not yet released by Maxsoft, I'm wagering that there will be one soon. Again, go support piracy somemore ler! Major Nintendo have always happened in US (and not every city mind you), Aus, Japan, and Europe (again, selected countries), leaving a huge majority of the world screwed. Piracy may be a factor, but still the fact (as of now) is this: If you don't live in any of those countries, you will NOT get a taste of an official event. This is true not just for Pokemon, but for OTHER games as well. This post has been edited by Phoenix_Cypher_K1: Jul 19 2007, 09:17 PM |

QUOTE(madmoz @ Jul 19 2007, 09:11 PM) Which is what i wanted to highlight in the first place - Australia (so close it is practically in Asia) has its own Pokemon event... the winds of change are blowing, just not our way Well, we have to live with it. Maxsoft as it is, is merely Nintendo (of Japan? of America?)'s distributor of SEA. They do not have anymore power than "distributing Nintendo games".Added on July 19, 2007, 9:12 pmAnd australian complain all the time that they are left out of the loop when it comes to games Pray that Nintendo of Singapore actually happens. This way at least the chance that you get an event very nearby is higher (in theory anyway). And who knows? You might be able to get them to do a SEA event. |
