Uh what does Skylake has to do with 980Ti having 2 SMMs being crippled or not?  blink.gif
Usually if an item has tax, Amazon will pre-charge a tax into the total before checkout. In the 980Ti's case (or any GPU actually), there is no pre-charge tax. Anyways, 6% will still be applied once entered into the country.
*
i just suggest that wait for skylake. no point go for 980Ti.

Thinking of buying this ZOTAC GeForce GTX 960 (ZT-90310-10M), at RM699, I think its a much better deal than 750Ti OC, but it only has 1 fan. I wonder if the single fan is sufficient for cooling the GTX960?
*
i think u better get R9 380 4GB around GTX 960 price.

R9 390 8GB / R9 390X 8GB already beat GTX 970. recently nvidia driver really not stable.

Bro, you so fast poke?

With prevoius AMD pricing track records, I highly doubt a _80 series will cost under 1k...

RM700 for 960 is a steal.

recently fed up with nvidia driver. 960 got support DX12 or not? the nvidia guy didn't mention GTX 960 support DX12.1 but maybe DX12 onl y i guess hmm.gif

Do you think 600w psu is enough to handle 980ti during gaming?

min 600w so better get at least min 750w for more head room.

shouldnt be an issue, assuming the PSU in question is a good one

GPU alone doesnt run at 100% TDP all the time anyways, a good 600W PSU is fine, unless you have crazily overclocked CPU + >10 HDDs in your system
*
1st i thought gpu will only hit 100% but u're wrong. hwmonitor shown my gpu able to hit 120%

just play nba 2k15 already hit 116% >67°c

try using a different software to monitor and see how it goes

HW Monitor can be quite wonky at times (back then it showed -XXC for AMD CPUs)

AMD HD 5650 my temp hit 128°c but actually not hot at all.

i got hwinfo & aida64

hmm well there are reports of GTX970 that eats up massive power eventhough TDP for GTX970 is 145W (Gigabyte's) hmm.gif
*
actually gtx 970 draw a lot power. 145W + 10%

my max can draw 128.xx% as my pc on more than 8 hrs/day

usually if play high intense it draw 110-120% average +12.1v

since 980 dropped around USD 499 is really worth. at least 980 is a full GM204 not cripple. if u got money just for 980Ti as for AMD really nothing special to wait. i just wait they release & see the price for all the gpu card.

even recently nvidia driver got a lot issue but i still leaning towards nvidia. i got trauma with amd cards. no fate & no chemistry.

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Jun 13 2015, 02:06 PM)
Uh no.
A single 980 is not good enough for 1440p/60fps. A single 980 will only give extra legroom in 1080p games, that's all. I've said it many times, on 1080p an OC'd 970 (1520/8000) is pretty much as quick as a 980, VRAM limitation or not.

A heavily OC'd 980 (say 1500/8000) is still not good enough for 1440p/60fps, so where is it left at then? A 1080p card for users with 120/144hz monitors? Even then, a 980 cannot pull 120fps on most recent games.
A 980 setup is only somewhat viable if one is going 4k and the user gets 2x980s for SLI. But again, there are a whole other set of issues on that.
It would be Pascal vs Maxwell. Pascal is not due until at the very least Q2 2016. That's nearly a whole year of wait, if you can wait that long then wait. If not, get a 970 if you're on 1080p, get a 980Ti if you're on 1440p. It's that simple.
*
problem now is out of budget. able to get a monitor 1440p but then no money get 980Ti. if i get 980Ti for 1080p really not worth.

i think bersyukurlah with 970. RM currency diarrhea (lao sai) everywhere.

hey, im on 1440p and with a GTX780

seems good so far, you just need to lower the graphical settings (granted i need to throw in 100MHz core and 200MHz mem overclock)

even so, some games with older engines runs exceptionally well at 1440p high settings

im looking at you SOM
*
what i know 290 running quite well on my friend U2713H while running 2560x1440 at high setting.. games i ran mostly use around 3GB vram. hardly hit 3.5GB vram cos i didn't push too hard.

when buy last time no budget for i7 or xeon sad.gif coz at that time everyone say i5 enuf for gaming n so on. T.T for other games is ok with i5. i might upgrade to xeon also if budget allows. biggrin.gif but gtx 980 ti is my priority and also SSD.

hopefully nvidia prices will go down a little once amd announce their new lineups

i also u i5 so far so good. if u really wanna get 980Ti then u should get a good 1440p panel.
