Hello guys,I'm running Leadtek GTX970 SLi in NZXT S340. When I'm playing games like GTA V,the upper GTX970 would reach 8x degree Celsius meanwhile the bottom one would be around 7x. Even switch on air cond,the temperature would reach the 8x range too..

I felt the the temperature is a little bit too hot. Due to the temp limit in msi afterburner, the card will be throttle to 1076Mhz core clock instead of boost clock of 12xx.. Is it normal?

Currently I'm using two NZXT FN V2 case fans in front for intake,one top exhaust and rear exhaust as well..

The case seemed  to be a little bit too tight for running dual GPU felt like very stuffy when using scythe mugen 4(upper) two GTX970 (middle) SSD ( Bottom)

Never try it yet Scared of getting too much dust into the rig..

Will try it once reach home

Having crashes(black screen) with Witcher 3 using 353.30 driver, running out of ideas as of now

Ah just realize there's a hotfix driver, hopefully it will solve the problem or at least reduce the crashing

Just an update, the hotfix driver finally did something right, played witcher 3 for a good 2-3 hours and had no crash whatsoever  . I probably did messed something during the previous driver    but a clean install with ddu seems to did the trick.

btw marfccy , for witcher 3 do you use the recommended settings inside the GFE?

Is 90hz 4k ips g-sync too much to ask?  I hope that pc monitors can get 4k at 90hz as standard in the future.

As my preference right now, i want to game at above 60fps. So my choice is 1440p ips monitor.

Speaking of hz, this is the way I feel.

30 to 60 = Huge, day and night difference.
60 to 72/75 = Slightly noticeable, not much of a difference.
60 to 90/95 = Noticeable, quite significant.
60 to 120 = Significant difference, but not as huge as going from 30 to 60.
120 to 144 = Barely noticeable to be quite honest.

Honestly I feel that 120hz is the very sweet spot for all types of games right now. 60 is still a standard, but I really feel that the industry should make that push to 120hz once and for all.

As said by a few here, we're still not at a state where a single card can push every recent AAA game to 144hz even at 1080p. I don't think that is a possibility until another 3 or 4 years tbh, but it entirely depends on how game development will evolve from here on out as well. Multi-cards is possible, but then SLI has its own set of issues that it needs to fix as well.

But but.... only GTX 980Ti can do Ultra at 1440p 60fps.... 

This card can hit 6GB vram just fine. Those who get 5.7GB forgot about windows AERO is taking a chunk of VRAM in the background as well.

It is not just about VRAM, but the GPU itself is simply not fast enough.

Even if you disable AERO, the basic compositing still take up 100-200Mb of VRAM.
Plus google chrome,firefox,safari and internet explorer also uses a bit of VRAM.
Not to mention a certain amount of vram also being used to display a image on your screen.

If you want to properly run the tool, you need to run it in headless mode.

In any case, you dont need to worry about memory segmentation. GTX980Ti doesnt have this issue.
All GTX980TI gpu memory controllers are properly linked to active gpu L2 cache. Only SMM units are being disabled this time.

GTX970 is unique in a sense that all of its memory controllers are perfectly fine, but one of its memory controller it isnt linked directly to the L2 cache. (Probably a segment of L2 cache is defective).
