That techreview report was insightful. Although they should put that tonga tess accelaration is a trait in the new gcn. So its not a apple to apple comparison with 290x numbers.

Are those fury throughput data an estimation or facts??

no hard feelings bro , just that there is no benchmarks out yet regarding fury so cant assume its performance. but i admit 290x still is more than enough for todays gaming i agree totally, i myself am using a r9 290 paired with a fx 8350 most games no issues at 1080p ultra details (depends on game also )

does R9 380 would be just rebranded from R9 280?

Its actually the R9 285 from the Tonga. No More rebrands of the 7900 series

It's just estimation. I do more digging on it and find out it's not 100% true. Tonga GCN 1.2 does make improvement in certain areas over Hawaii GCN 1.1

I would say its an exact tie. Its like they deliberately made them and priced them the same. You can go wrong with either of them.

Thought so then that throughput numbers n tesselation power is false. Cause the base assumption is 290x .

For some reason, I really worry about AMD Fury product competitiveness.

First, Fury doesnt have HDMI 2.0 support. (No support for Ultra HD resolution?)

Second, there is news that HBM cannot be overclocked, it is locked by AMD, uncertain if it is locked by driver or vbios/vuefi (it is possible that AMD already OC it to the max? Or HBM specific interposer issue?)

Third, a reviewer said fury x gpu core voltage is locked as well?

Fourth, there was rumour about 30K units available for year 2015, but AMD denied this rumour. But 10 fury x review units for entire europe......compounded by recent comment by AMD representative about scaling back marketing effort.

I am starting to see the 30K units rumour might be true.

Fifth, when the first news about rebrand broke out, AMD flat outright denied it and say these gpus are for OEM only. -.- Turns out during AMD 16th June 2015 event, it is for official 300 R6 - R9 series as well. Now I am reading about AMD specifically mentions in its reviewer guide not to classify the rebrand as a 'rebrand', instead highlight the so called better binning process, better vram timing and voltage optimization. An apple still an apple no matter how it is genetically modified, no?

Sixth, the latest stuff on driver optimization about tesselation performance specific to 300 vbios.

I read about that issue with "selected" reviewers too with KitGuru, etc. I guess it's normal practise? By this I mean it was pratised by NVidia as well? I'm not putting anything on this though. All these so-called issues may not even be true, as it's still just "rumours". We'll just wait for the official numbers to come in now. It should be anytime now. Can't wait to read the "real" reviews out by this week.

I concerned about AMD scaling down its marketing effort.
Reducing the press events,
Reducing invitee numbers,
Reducing samples sent out,

Sound to me, AMD has serious financial issue right now.
After all, AMD did fired most of its marketing personnels.

Yes, not looking good in that sense. The last thing AMD needs now is their products will only appeal to their "fans" only.

Afaik there was no optimization on r9 390s other than
Third party cooler with significantly higher vddc 1.2v
, overclocked by 50-100mhz, vrams 8gb higher clocked by 20%.

Now there are reports showing there was no increase in tesselation performance. It was driver tweaking.

So if we do a wired setting on heaven we can see "optimization" or lack of tesselation. I call that cheating or just reducing fidelity that game engine intended. But on other perspective users would enjoy better framerates at acceptable graphic fidelity.

Dirt Rally. I heard it wasnt maxed out setting. Btw its was about 8.4xx k pixels but marketing is spinning it as 12k.

I am curious as to the aa performance. Early debates said the card will suffer a huge loss in performance.

Didn't read much on that 12k thingy yet but I watched TTL's review of his 390X and he sounds so damn convinced. hahaha... The price is very good for the performance of 390X too... now AMD needs to unleash thy FURY!!!
