QUOTE(empire23 @ May 9 2015, 05:28 AM) I never have and probably never will take into context OC performance when it comes to any review. A card that has a lot of OC potential means that production quality control isn't tight (thus the high spread) and thus reliability is more variable. Because if manufacturers could reliably clock their chips higher and bin the higher performance parts, they'd do it because it means higher profits. But when you got the top of the line models already, it's time to OC When the original GTX reference cards came out and people found that they had significant headway, Nvidia started allowing most AIB partners stock OC the cards as yields and quality tightened up. Now all cards are overclocked from the box when compared to the original speed. I feel no need to OC, if I wanted a faster Porsche, I'd just buy the next faster model. Much like if I feel my M235i is too slow, I'd order an M4 |

QUOTE(S4PH @ May 12 2015, 10:42 AM) I think can't be fixed, it's widely discussed that the game physics engine relied on Physx, something the CPU bottlenecked heavily. The only way it can be improved is if the developer rewritten the codes or having a lower overhead OS drivers from microsoft and AMD (amd to lesser extent).Or if somebody managed to make CUDA to OpenCL wrapper for radeon cards. |

QUOTE(Unseen83 @ May 12 2015, 01:54 PM) HM Witcher 3 Available to be pre-down ! I hope the Gameworks implementation is like patched Far Cry 4. Excluding CF, the game ran well for 290 after patch. SInce The Witcher 3 delayed so long, let's hope there's no need for performance patch for radeon users... |

Before mid 2014 (Gameworks game not out yet) Radeon's performance on every title were satisfactory, so no problems on dev's relation. After Gamework's titles launched, suddenly AMD didn't work with the devs anymore? Sounds fishy.

QUOTE(pspslim007 @ May 12 2015, 07:52 PM) hi guys, i`ve facing a problem right now, my 6350 is now not working, so i wanna claim warranty, but i know its still under warranty, the problem is that i lost my Hardcopy of the receipt, so u think the shop will be able to get back those info for my 6350 to claim warranty ? IINM Intel CPU can check on their website for warranty period left on your CPU. No idea about AMD CPU, if got then maybe shop will charge you RM30 or something to send for warranty? |

QUOTE(Unseen83 @ May 13 2015, 04:08 AM) sleep and wake up , ppl still post about Project cars ? it really show benchmark game design to promote Nvidia new Gpu architecture(maxwell) so.. just ignore game... than price go down and patch be up... to optimize older gpu...(way game dev say sorry we want ur money) Project Cars PC sales only managed 7% of their total sales... PS4 is their main platform with 60+% sales. |

Did you use ddr3 2133 ram? That thing needs minimum that to perform well.Bu the way 7850k iGPU is faster than GTS450 and HD4850, that speaks of the performance |

The witcher 3 benchmark @1080p is out with the review ver 1.02:
Max details, HBAO+, Hairworks off ![]() Max details, Hairworks on (no info on AO) ![]() Bigger chart with more GPUs, SSAO & Hairworks off ![]() Ready to game tomorrow, Radeons run real good with hairworks off. Only Titan X can run smoothly with all turned on. No idea of which AA they used, if it's ubersampling like The Witcher 2, then we actually have an entirely different charts. Not bad running The Witcher 3. I turned off Nvidia Hairworks but turned on HBAO+, and then off Motion Blur, Chromatic Aberration, & Vignette (I just don't like this effects). I also set foliage and distance to high (forgot what's the exact setting's name).
With Vsync off it's running around 70fps at Kaer Mohan, Vsync on it's usually on 60fps and sometimes dips to 55fps. I ran 1080/1250 on my GPU. When I turned on Nvidia Hairworks at outside, I got like 40% penalty. I tried it inside the inn, my fps dropped from 60fps to 22-25 fps Nvidia Hairworks looked good but it's doesn't look natural. I'm fine with Hairworks off. Haven't see monster's fur yet. EDIT: cutscene videos aren't smooth at all in the game, you can manually set it in the ini file to turn off movieubersampling and set the fps to 60: QUOTE From reddit: "If you want to bump up fps in cutscenes go to your Witcher 3 main folder, then bin/config/base and edit visuals.ini, setting MovieUbersampling to false and framerate to 60" This post has been edited by terradrive: May 19 2015, 03:10 PM |

Last time they managed to use GDDR5 first and made the HD4870 cheap too at $299.
But this time I guess they couldn't made it cheap |

QUOTE(ruffstuff @ Jun 3 2015, 06:02 PM) The downside of the card is the chip itself. HBM is great, but what is the point of having small footprint card, but ended up with huge radioator alongside with it? If AMD can make a high performance card with that footprint, without the need of wc, its a clear winner. Even if the performance is slightly below 980. I hope the non XT Fury will be like this. No need wc, but still maintaining the small footprint. It's definitely possible, but clockspeeds will be lowered a lot.Just like R9 290/290X can be hugely downclocked mem wise and saved tons of power consumption as well as the released heat. It's really cool if ran the R9 290 at 1000Mhz core and 1000Mhz memory with -65mv. With is can just run fine with 2 fan small coolers. |

QUOTE(Gregyong @ Jun 3 2015, 07:18 PM) they do........and it was released years ago......The only reason Nvidia's Hairworks is getting so much attention now is probably cause of the huge lag it's causing AMD customers to have and as always.......I feel that it's deliberate like PhysX Actually by using the tessellation workaround, hairworks ran pretty well on my R9 290 on the witcher 3.they even have Tomb Raider TressFX ate crazy ton of performance too, but I never tested the tessellation workaround, already uninstalled from my steam client. |
