I don't think that 4GB will pose big problem anyways. Majority of cards is still GTX 980 and below. There's still 2GB cards in the wild.

If 4GB can't hold the textures anymore then can lower the texture size settings in game. Though I do agree that flagship should have 8GB minimums now. Too bad the HBM1 can't let it have more than 4GB sad.gif

Does the new Catalyst 15.6 provide frame rate control like the one on 300 series?

Seems AMD is rethinking its business future

AMD already issued an official statement that it is false.

Some benchmarks

With what happened with arkham knights.. Just ordered two 980 ti amp extreme. Fury X vram is a issue n AMD didnt do any magic to solve it n tesselation still bad but its arnd the 980 level. Still far from the ti.

Aren't you already on 2 Titan X? Why get another pair of 980 Ti?

By the way, thailand's review of Fury X:
http://www.vmodtech.com/main/article/amd-r...096-bit-review/

Fury X is way behind in that review.

The Fury X 1440p heaven scores is pretty low. Only 43.8fps?

I just tested my R9 290 at 1100 core 1500 memory, at max settings 1440p heaven's benchmark and got 33.5 fps...
That didn't include that I ran it with Surface Optimization turned off and texture filtering quality set to High. That robs few percent fps...

Damn that bad for a card costing that much. Bro just a quick question can my system get more performance by changing my cpu to intel i5/i7 currently using a fx8350 or is just better to just OC the bugger  hmm.gif . Btw what is your power configuration to achieve 1100 gpu and 1500 memory? is it at stock
*
If you keep using the 290, better overclock the fx8350 and wait for skylake. But just changing to i5 will give you more performance definitely, probably even more in cpu limited games. maybe can get 5-20% higher fps in some games? not really sure.
For my 290's overclock, I only add +31 mV in afterburner

R9 390X is impressive in price to performance ratio, and the 8GB VRAM makes it a viable option to run CFX.

Total cost still below RM 4k.

Far cheaper than running GTX 980 Ti SLI. GTX 980 Ti SLI is limited to 6GB VRAM.
*
I think value wise the r9 390 is even better. Just slightly slower than r9 390x but rm400 cheaper. Should be easily overclocked to 1100 to 1150 mhz to match 390x's performance.

Tomshardware does good power consumption measurements
interesting to see that Fury X uses 220+ watts only. better than 980 Ti.

Only reviewer worth reading

Conclusion.
Something off with oc3d crysis 3... Anyway dont like him. So dont bother

The card trades blows with 980ti n is king for
Fc4, acu, .. ( both has amd tesselation optimised drivers.. So lol.. We know that from 390x drivers.. They reduced the tessalation.. So not apple to apple)

Thief, Metro LL

Suprise it can do 4k. Now just have to see gamers actualy performance whether there is stutter.
*
guru3d have 5k resolution results for fury x. no idea what settings but the fps didn't had a big hit for vram limitations. i only read till half when my mate asking to play dota 2 lol
