As I stated in earlier post, racing is not only about winning the race. Its about finishing it....

As everyone knows in F1, the Super Aguri, Midland, Torro rosso and others mid runners dont have the race pace, technology or even engine to compete with the front runners..... but they still run and and try to compete with the big boys.... that is racing.

For me better to finish the race then having DNF tag whistling.gif

You should try graduating as this training develop your track knowledge at the same time you learn the car limits. Another thing that I would recommend is try running a race weekend with 20-30 cars on the grid and try to follow the A.I, this is also another form of quick track learning.

Oh, and one more, turn the tyre scrub volume to high and you would get more feedback on the car when cornering.

Redline, I tried to setup the lambo as per Alan request. But as you said reliability is major issue. I blown my engine twice you know. But to get the lambo at 1m57 very difficult. Most of the time I struggle at mid 58s.

MC12 however is very reliable thus far, but major drawback is you have to be very smooth or else you will lose big time. Also the engine is breathless at high rpm range so climbing hill is an issue for the Maserati. My slolution is to overev the engine a lil bit going uphill.

Since you are back, I need a lot of work on consistency. I hope to do 1m56 easily this time around. But I feel like the Maserati's at its limit already.

You see mysoft slicks can get to end of the race without any issue. I have a feeling that you are overdriving. MC12 is not very forgiving like the 550 or Lambo for example. If you are not smooth your tyres are going to suffer very quickly.

Smokey, use my setup and post me motec data. I want to do a comparison. BTW are you using wheel?

Great laps, Redline is that with lotsa fuel onboard? If it's, that is some scary pace. Because that is my qualy pace sweat.gif

Hmm, will upload the lap and learn your style. I believe that you should have no problem to catch up with MC12 provided above is your race pace.

wah, I'm shocked a bit now wondering where in the world do you get that extra speed. Nevertheless you are really quick. Hopefully your engine can last race distance. As for the race pace I know you will come with a surprise comes the time.

Speaking of race pace, when testing I dare to push more. But when it comes to race day, I feel the need to be more conservative hence slower pace. I didn't want my race to be cut short like yesterday where I crashed at the first turn in my attempt to beat my own fastest lap.


edited : Redline tried against your ghost but gtr2 seems to have bug. Your car seems to hit me, although very minor but still it took me off the racing line.

Furthermore doing a setup from trial time is not going to help during real qualy session since the tyres already at optimum, hence quicker times posted than that of qualy. During open practice I had to warm up the tyres for a few laps, during that time tyre is not at its best due to wear. So my lap time are way quicker in time trial than that of practice. Or I'm wrong so you will have me corrected?

this is what i did during time trial.

set the parameter to follow the race format, fuel = 2x, time = 14:00.

i load the qualify setup with 50 liter fuel onboard, run the time trial, the 1st 3 or 4 laps time was around 1:56, lap 5 = 1:55 (light fuel & optimum tyre temp).

this is one of my fav track during 1st round open wheel world challenge in ASRWC mod aka A1GP mod for rFactor....maybe we just race in this track for fun.

MC12 is really good at fast sweeping corners like brno and magny but can be a nightmare for tracks like Imola or Oscerleben. Lambo is not quick at fast track since the engine is not reliable, I find that 550 hit the sweet spot where the chassis suits all track condition.

As for the new skin, I don't have any artisitc skills, maybe I'll paint my car all red and put my name at each sides of my car.

I can do 1.54. but that is my qualy pace. my race pace averaging at 1.57 to 1.58. It's all about the setups to me once you have mastered the track. But to go a bit faster, of course you need to be very talented. To go at a race pace with 1.54 is just awesome and blindingly very very fast.

Anyway ryugan how is the new setup?

Am currently building one new setup that is very forgiving and easy for the race on sunday, so will be on the server tonight practisin.
