Can change to Core i5-4460 to XEON E3 1231 and CM Silencio 452 to CM Silencio 352? It is enough space to build this rig with this case?
*
That would need reduction with the GPU.

Xeon E3-1231 V3 - RM869
Coolermaster Hyper 103 (this CPU is hot) - RM109
Asrock B85M-HDS motherboard - RM249
Kingston 8GB DDR3-1600 x1 - RM239
Leadtek GTX750 Ti 2GB DDR5 - RM529
WD Blue 1TB hard disk - RM184
Corsair VS 550W power supply - RM179
CM Silencio 352 case - RM179

RM2537 total (Viewnet prices)

QUOTE(YezZZ @ Mar 12 2015, 10:45 AM)
ok. i will stick to CM Silencio 452 case. How about PSU? it is enough for running game like BF, COD, WATCHDOG etc.
*
PSU has nothing to do with the games. Recommended PSU for GTX750 Ti is 300W or better. 550W is well above it.

GTX750 Ti is the bare minimum for 1080p gaming. Don't bother gaming at 4k with this GPU.

Mm, I really like the case since it looks really portable.

Is there next gen GC coming out anytime soon whereby I can wait and maybe get a better deal?
*
You can haggle with them for cheaper price. Those are MSRP prices. Probably even more discount if you buy everything from the same shop.

Rumors says AMD R9 3xx is May onwards.

Coolermaster does not produce the PSU. Seasonic is the one making for them on their V full modular series.

The reason it is cheaper because CM cut some parts like Semi-fanless switch. It is still very good PSU.

Just minor issue. Change the RAM to GSkill Aegis 8GB x1. It won't impact the performance.

QUOTE(loobighead @ Mar 16 2015, 11:13 AM)
Hei guys, I am planning to get a rig for gaming (PES, NBA 2K, GTA, Far Cry and etc) and entertainment that can last me a 3-5 years. Budget around 6k for CPU and monitor.

1. Not planning to go 4K or SLI but I hope can get a overclockable intel CPU.
2. Preferable nvidia graphic card and mobo from the same company.
3. Planning to get VX2770SML for my monitor, feel free to give any recommendation for 27" monitor with high cp. IPS or MVA more suitable for gaming?
4. For HDD, preferable western digital (what is the differences between green and blue actually?) but no preference for SSD.
5. Casing I prefer cooler master but if there is a similar casing with high CP I am fine with that as well.

Sorry for having so many requirements and thanks for your help in advance!

Hello sifus, what to look for when buying RAM? Will be there any performance gain in gaming/video editing when buying high clocked ram?

Cos, if not, i might be going for 16gb dual channel and just pick anything that are nice to my eyes.

I mainly want to change my ram for colour matching (either black/Red). now im using Kingston HyperX Genesis 4GBX2 1600mhz OCed at 2400mhz.

Pc Spec : i5 4690k (Oced at 4.6ghz) + Asus Z97 pro Gamer
*
No difference

*
I don't know how much is your "silent" tolerance. That budget can get you these.

Core i7-4790 - RM1049
Coolermaster Hyper 212X - RM149
Asrock H97 Pro4 motherboard - RM349
Kingston 8GB DDR3-1600 x1 - RM229
Leadtek GTX970 4GB DDR5 Hurricane - RM1299
WD Blue 1TB hard disk - RM184
Seasonic M12 II Evo 620W power supply - RM359
NZXT Phantom 410 case - RM319 (from here

RM3937 total (Viewnet prices)

QUOTE(ian90 @ Mar 16 2015, 01:55 PM)
Any alternative processor to consider then? I'm still trying to buy my rig. =(
*
i7-4790 at RM1049. Nothing much you can do unless you wanna bet on Xeon staying at similar price after GST.

US Dollar still rising. RM3.71 for 1 USD now. Hardware prices is worse than GST if you compare to 6 months ago.

1. If I want a normal cooling fan (not water cooling) from cooler master instead of the noctua one?
2. Graphic card and mobo from same company?
3. Actually what is the difference between WD HDD, red, blue and green in performace if I only use that for downloading? For my games and OS i will be using the SDD.
4. Is bronze grade PSU enough for this setup and what if my graphic card spoilt and I want to change to a better card, it is powerful enough to support? (SLI not into consideration)
5. Any other nice 27" monitor will you recommend?

Thanks a lot for you help!
*
That's up to you

No, Gigabyte GTX970 G1 Gaming is insanely long and more expensive. Same company gives you zero performance boost. If you want that, you will need different brand or more expensive case. Also, I'm using Leadtek GTX970 with Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 5 as well.

Green is turtle, red is faster than green but still turtle, Blue is the fastest but no 2TB or higher, Black is overpriced crap. I only recommend Seagate SV35 for 2TB higher unless user specifies it.

That PSU can even handle R9 290X level of power consumption. It's a quality PSU. 80Plus Bronze has nothing to do with PSU reliability. It is all about the inside.

I don't go more than 24". If I want quality, I would go for Dell U2414H at same price.

cant find a much benhcmark to research,
u can see here http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/...iew-feat-asus/6,
basically, the ASUS DC 2 GTX960 is almost on par (outperform in some games, n not perform in some games compare to R9 280)

FYI, Asus GTX960 at RM999 using max overclock can never compete with Gainward GTX970 at RM1149. Any GTX960 more than RM800 is not worth it.

Anyway, any CM cooler you will recommend to replace the noctua one? May I know how many usb 3.0 port available for the gigabyte mobo and does it wifi & bluetooth ready?

Thank you in advance!

Look for Coolermaster TPC-812. Hopefully still got promo from Sri Computers at RM159.

Just get USB Bluetooth and WIFI dongle. There is 4 USB 3.0 at behind, 2 more for the front panel header.

I would recommend getting higher quality PSU like Seasonic M12 II Evo 620W at RM359. It has more stamina due to 100% Japanese capacitors.
