I meant my gpu has died before and had already send it back. Was thinking it might be beneficial if we have a thread about which manufacturers have good local aftersales support.
*
Ooowhh..im not sure we have that specific thread,
But we do have this,

hello guise. i planning to make one mini itx pc.but my budget is limited. around 1.5k.maybe can topup another 200 or 300 more. can u guys suggest me good rig for this budget. mainly doing for work and casual game like counter strike global offensive. Thanks ya
*
Why u want itx? It is not wise for itx with limit budget
this without monitor:

Intel Core i3 4130 - RM 419
Asrock B85m ITX- RM 329
Kingston 4GB DDR3 1600MHz Value RAM - RM 119
Sapphire R9 260X 2GB DDR5 GPU - RM 459
WD 1tb HDD - RM 199
Antec VP 400w RM 119
CM 110 - RM 159

If ur budget is tight,
U shud hunt for 2nd GPU, hd6950 RM150 would b nice for u,

if u want save space but yet a much better,
do consider this,

Intel Core i5-4440 - RM 699

Kingston 4GB DDR3 1600MHz Value RAM - RM 119
SAPPHIRE R7 250X RM349

tq and yikes! really? a 5k budget cant even get a entry level 4k gaming sweat.gif

maybe it too soon for now , change of plan . a rig that simply manage to hover 60fps on GTA V on 1080p? should be much lower then 5k no? 3k-ish?

tq again!
*
???that is ur entry level,
it is playable, just the fps will drop a bit, wont be a big issue running 4k if u get a monitor on that

GTA V is poorly optimize, even GTX980 would struggle on it for full setting,
if wanted oni for satisfactory 1080p ultra setting, GTX970 shud do very2 gud for u

again, what mincrafter suggest u is the best,
just if i were u,
i will get bigger monitor Benq GL2450-B RM489 n swap with SSHD (even this not perform as SSD, but it sure doest outbeat the HDD)

Is a r9 270x vapor-x crossfire recommended? And how much power would be recommended to power this crossfire up?
*
As dozen of time mentioned in other thread, a single powerfull gpu is more realiable than 2 CF gpu,

If u already have one card CF gonna b the most economical solution for upgrade oni if u take a 2nd hand gpu,
if u just about to get new gpu, just go straight get a r9 280x/r9 290 instead,

It need around 600-750watt to run these as it is amd, runs a lot of power

I see. How good is r9 280x in comparison to other graphic cards in the price range. Will a true 500w power it or the 290x up?
*
it beats the GTX960 n the R9 290x is slightly lower than GTX970

R9 280<GTX960~R9 285<r9 280x<R9 290<R9 290X~GTX970

get a 600watt atleast to power up R9 280 above,
amd is quite power hunger

get 2nd if u want cheap,
or

see my siggy.....have to take risk using thermaltake 730w se powering powerhunger 2x8pin asus HD7970 GHZ,
so far so good

Thank you. My laptop is actually running R7 265 right now. I guess I'd upgrade my budget by a notch to increase capabilities. Once again, thank you.

Also, do you know what monitor would be the best at it's cheapest price to run 1080p for games like Advanced Warfare without lags? Preferably something in between 25-30".
*
please be note that mobile GPU n dekstop GPU is diffrent even the model is the same, the confiuration is not,
so ur laptop R7 265 is not the same with R7 265 desktop

cheapest 24inch BenQ GL2450-B RM489
cheapest 27inch BenQ GL2760HS RM899

Noted. Thank you for the piece of information.

Would it be suitable if I swap out the GPU with a GeForce 970/R9 280? Or do I have to upgrade other stuff in order to do this swap?
*
for limted budget, it is most wise u go for 2nd hand r9 280x or HD7970GHZ, u can get as cheap as <RM750 with about 1year more warranty

Besanth nid at least 600w to power it up..if take that r9 280x might end up also hunting for 2nd hand PSU

Is there a way to cut down so that the price become 4-4.5k and im probably not overclocking due to lack experience.
Ty very much.
*
go for Palit/Zotac GTX970 Ref Rm1300 (estimated)
n topap summore for bigger SSD (liteon MU 240GB RM379), it still will under 4.5k

wanna go lower??? fine....
ditch the SSD n HDD, take SSHD 1tb (RM299) , take RAM oni 8Gb n go for i5-4440 (RM699)

even lower?? swap MOBO with Asrock B85m HDS RM289 n swap with FSP hexa+ 550W RM179
*note that mobo n psu will not affect performance..so u still can consider this

Theres one more thing thats bugging me. Do you suggest intel i5 4690k or intel xeon e3-1231 v3 .
Whats the difference. TYVM  smile.gif
*
Of course the xeon,
it is more economical to get that as the i5 K nid xtra juice n stable mobo to OC,
next gen gaming already start to utlise multi thread which xeon have more,

xeon is an i7 without iGPU with slight lower clock

Is the Intel Xeon E3-1231 V3 the best choice for gaming at the pricing range of below RM1000?
*
Yup of course,
the is no other cpu u can get that can deliver much performance the xeon do, in term of threads n single core performance,

So it is the most value for its price range

N the gud thing is,
u dun nid xpensive mobo nor expensive psu to power it up,
unlike amd fx, they do

QUOTE(Besanth @ May 6 2015, 01:58 AM)
I've been quoted at 2 different price ranges. One at RM2000 and another at RM3000. I did this comparison to see the games that I would play, would it be able to run at both. However, the RM2000 seems to fit perfectly with any games I would play maxed out settings at 1920x1080.

My final question is, for the RM2000 price range specs that I've received, which is this:

Intel Core i5 4460 3.2GHz RM676.28
Asrock H81M-VG4 RM178.08
Sapphire R7 265 Dual-X OC 2GB GDDR5 RM581.94
Corsair Value RAM 4GB DDR3 1600MHz RM124
WD Caviar Blue 1TB RM199
FSP Hexa+ 550W RM199
Thermaltake Versa H25 RM135
Total:RM2093.30

Is it possible for me to swap out the Intel Core i5 4460 3.2GHz RM676.28 with an Intel Xeon E3-1231 V3 3.4GHz RM899?

And if I do, would it create significant differences for my gaming/PC experience in general or is the differences compared to the price hike not worth it?

Also, thank you all of those who contributed and helped me find the best spec sheet for my PC. I highly appreciate it. Would highly appreciate this final advice too.
*
for gaming pc,
ur focus always GPU 1st than cpu,
so if u thinking of better performance
it is most advisable for u to get better GPU,
Leadtek GTX960 ref RM830 (estimated),

but my concern is more on ur RAM,
for gud gaming exp u nid at least 8GB ram RM229,
so if there is anyting u ask that u nid to fix on this RM2k build,
i would say the ram 1st
