Yesterday received a call for my application and they said i am not eligible because I am the existing customer. So I actually asked them which clause mentioned existing customer is not eligible? Apparently what they have on hand and what published at HSBC website are different because she said got “existing” but I told her to google and download what you have published. She said she will clarify and check with marketing team.

At 6pm received a called from HSBC, she said marketing made a mistake on the published tnc, I asked shouldn’t HSBC honor your mistake? And how can you tell your customer your tnc is invalid. She said will further clarify with marketing team and her manager. Let’s see.

This is how those Chinaman companies operate. HSBC is international bank, of course they can revise but I think the smart move is to honor all the application submitted before a new revision. Trying my luck for second one just curious how they will answer to the customers.

My wife applied on Sunday and today received approval sms.

I applied this morning via HSBC web site for the lazada 500 voucher, someone from the “approval department” (she said one) already called me this evening to verify my application. Pretty fast during mco.

You may try to apply HSBC platinum (not Amanah). Actually I am holding HSBC VS but I tried to apply the Amanah last week and surprisingly it has been approved on 29 Apr. called and checked my application is being tagged to lazada RM500 campaign. Same case goes to my wife, she is existing Amanah card holder but successfully applied the HSBC platinum under this campaign.

In the past, I recall got one sales person told me actually HSBC and HSBC Amanah are different banks (don know how they play the tricks), so they can do something to make you as NTB so long you dont hold both.

I think cannot just add card cos it needs to tag to a specific campaign. I just apply it via online.

You may give a try if only have one card. They process pretty fast during MCO, check back my history, I applied on 29 and my applicatiob approved on the same day. Today received sms my card is on the way already.

Basically if you are not entitle or eligible for the campaign, they will reject your application because my application is under this campaign and I have called to confirm this card is approved under lazada 500 campaign.

Yes. Annual fee is waived for the first year. SST I am not sure but I recall I did receive rebate for the SST for my first card.

My very first time escalate to BNM.

May : Immediately called CS upon receive of card and was told my card is approved under the RM500 campaign, immediately spent 2k.

June : Email HSBC to ask when I will be receiving the lazada voucher, the CS told me this is for NTB customer only and the T&c was there from the beginning. Fine!

8 July : lucky I have the screenshot to prove that t&c was not there when I applied, so I submit all supporting to BNM to seek their assistance. Today received email from HSBC, In short, they have informed the relevant department to include me in the next month fulfillment list for the rm500 lazada voucher.

Really shock they dare to say the t&c was there from the beginning and lucky I have kept the screenshot.

New to bank customer. U can try to email via the online banking portal to check the status. Did you check have they uploaded the tnc when u apply? I look up, look down, left and right confirm no tnc when I applied and keep my screenshot just in case. Also called up CS to confirm my card is approved under this campaign.

Oh. If you are not existing customer, not to worry I think. But better to follow up also, if not mistaken you are supposed to receive within 8 weeks after you have fulfilled the spending and they only give out 1200 vouchers only if not wrong.

Erm. U can try but I think is a bit hard because they won’t know the exact time when reaching the 1200th fulfiller and stop promoting it (within the campaign period). There might be a gap where it has reached 1200 but they have yet to sort out the winner list. Just my opinion.
