Hi guys, wanna ask how hard is it to cancel HSBC cards? Just got my amanah card but I applied for the free lazada voucher only. It is a really bad card IMO. Plan to cancel it after I got the voucher

Just want to share a bad experience with how HSBC handled fraud transactions. So, in October, I received several text messages on my phone about ITUNES transactions (which I didn't do). I immediately called HSBC to claim fraud transactions and tell them that my card's compromised. The agent confirmed that those transactions were frauds, blocked my card, and sent me a new one. The fraud transactions didn't appear on November's statements, so I was happy. But December came and suddenly there were 14 transactions totaling > RM2,000 on my statement... Yes, they're the fraud transactions. I called HSBC again and the agent told me to send them the dispute form for this. That's the procedure so I did it anyway. I just think that the procedure is inefficient and wasting everyone's time when HSBC already confirmed that those transactions were fraud in October... dry.gif

Aaaanyway, the amount has been credited back to my card, so I'm content now. Though I always prefer that the amount is credited to my savings account rather than my card. unsure.gif

how long did they take to credit the dispute? Did you pay the statement (including the fraud transaction) before they credit them back to you?

and no, if the transaction is from credit card, the money will go back to credit card.

almost 2 weeks since I hit my RM2000 target to get the RM500 Lazada voucher.

However, I haven't paid my latest statement yet.

Do we have to pay our statements before they send out the voucher?

Haven't received my RM500 Lazada voucher after 2 months hitting RM2000 spendings.
Called just now then they created ticket to process my voucher, according to the CS, they somehow "lost" or "forgot" about my voucher.

What a bank. No call then never work.

The so called 4-8 weeks time really achieved ..

My wife just received the card and hopefully won’t take so long
*
no, you HAVE TO CALL them.

I reached RM2k on mid-Dec 2018, waited 2 months, finally I called them today.
The CS sounds like they didn't know about the voucher at all, so they have to create a ticket in order to process my request.
Which means, if you forever no call them, you will not get the voucher at all.

hi guys, i just got my rm500 lazada voucher. just want to ask. It's written there for a single time use. meaning in one shot i've to purchased item cost more than rm500, correct ? or i can add up items in my cart to make up rm500 in a single purchase? or can it be used to top up lazada e wallet? any experience?
*
multiple items in single purchase, DO NOT cancel your order if anything happened (seller no stock, payment error). The voucher will be voided.

+0320592000 this number calls me every working day, but my phone automatically blocked it for a month.

Now I opened up the call logs then I realized the calls.

Then I googled a bit, found out it is from HSBC. Is there anything important for them to call me consistently for a month?

I believe if anything important, like I won some contest, they would have emailed me too right? So I assume that is just telemarketing.

card can only be terminated after 6 months? I have gotten my lazada voucher around Feb already, waiting for the correct time to terminate it.

U guys think RM500 Lazada voucher or Ringgitplus gift Xiaomi 70mai PRO Car Dashcam + Samsung 32GB SD Card worth more?
*
That cam is less than RM200, and 32GB SD card, at most is RM40 nowadays. Just go for lazada RM500

Recently attempted to apply the Lazada RM800 voucher campaign from HSBC-Ringgitplus.

But I got rejected for applying HSBC Platinum Credit Card ( min income RM3000 per month, which I am eligible )

I am totally confused.

I had no new application for any loan/card within a year, I got around 20% increment this year, my credit score report is A+ grade, I am having multiple credit cards which totals around RM2k-RM3k usage per month, not to mention I never miss any payment for any of my loans/credit card.

Is HSBC really that strict in credit card approval? What am I missing ?

1. Basic income > 3k? Basic only, not commission or allowance
2. Are you overstretched on your loan account ? How many credit card, housing loan and car loan do you have?
*
My basic is more than double > 3k.
I have 5 credit cards with 3 banks which totals around RM30k credit limit only.
And I didn't apply any new credit card or loans within a year.
If those credit cards are hurting my credit score, won't my credit score report show anything less than A+ ?

QUOTE(stuffx @ Dec 27 2021, 07:16 AM)
From my personal experience HSBC is the strictest bank when it comes to CC approval. They only assigned me RM3k credit limit while the other banks can simply gave me RM30-70k. My application to increase the credit limit was rejected twice and I really wonder why on earth they assigned me only RM3k limit for a platinum card.
*
Citibank everyday bug me to increase my credit limit which is already Rm13k bangwall.gif

Well, I guess HSBC just lost a potential customer. Not that their card is anything good also, I just wanted the free gift TBH brows.gif
