I think it is a matter of timing... your friend applied the card recently and subjected to the new offer where it is related to flight tickets... i have been following the promo and for me I don't think it is misleading... the previous promo I guess just ended end of Feb or March before they convert to this new promo related to flight ticket... a bit regret also did not get the card earlier before the previous promo ended.... QUOTE(Necromancer @ Apr 18 2017, 09:04 AM) Hi guys! I'd like your help to verify a few things if possible. Personally I think the promotions are quite messy hence I'm unsure of the validity of the cash cash rebate promo that was offered by the sales representative upon registration. Scenario 1 I'm an existing Amanah card user and I was offered the conventional card with greater limit AND cash rebate of RM 150 upon spending of RM1.5k in the first month (or was it first two months). Scenario 2 My friend is totally NTB, she signed up for the conventional since she was offered cash rebate of RM 688 upon spending of RM 6.8k in the first month (or was it first two months). However, I did some checking last night on HSBC official site, then I realized that this required expenditure is pegged to purchase of flight tickets. Contacted my sales representative to verify and was told that this flight ticket promo is actually a new campaign that was recently launched (to top it off, the cards were registered prior to the commencement of this new campaign). Being in banking myself I know how unclear and deceitful banks can be so has anyone signed up for said promo before and have successfully gotten back the cash rebate without purchasing flight tickets?

Ahhh... now I get what you mean also but personally for my case... i just avoid applying when it is too near to the deadline or promotion ending date... exactly to avoid the scenario you mentioned below... maybe you can try bring this to consumer tribunal and make a case but is it worth your time and effort ? QUOTE(Necromancer @ Apr 19 2017, 09:02 AM) I understand what you mean but when we actually signed up the new promo hasn't launched yet hence it isn't fair to categorize us under the new promo right? I mean it's just common sense on the sales person's part that obviously the card wouldn't reach us within a week hence it's just impossible for us to have spent that much amount of money in a short time. Well, with that being said, Bank(s) are always right. Worst case scenario I will just treat my new conventional card as a spare. Btw, just to clarify, is the GSC buy 1 free 1 promo for the weekends still ongoing?
