If I apply HSBC card to get the RM 500 Lazada voucher, can I do balance transfer to help reach the RM 2000 spending requirement? Because when I read the terms it got mention the following: QUOTE a. includes: internet transactions, local and overseas retail transactions, standing instructions/auto-billing, Cash Advance, Balance Transfer and Cash Instalment Plan;
b. excludes: finance charges/management fees and credit card annual fees for the Participating Credit Card/-i(s).

Replying to myself because I've found it's not worth it to do RM 2000 balance transfer just to get the RM 500 Lazada voucher. 1. The balance transfer is not free. I have to pay 6.99% p.a. if I were to split it into 12 months. That's almost equivalent to RM 140 if I were to transfer RM 2000. 2. I lose the grace period once I do balance transfer. Means I shouldn't use the card for new purchases until I clear the balance transfer. Not using the card means I'll have to pay the RM 240 annual fee. That's 140 + 240 = RM 380 going out of my pocket, just to get the RM 500 Lazada voucher. This post has been edited by apamise: Jul 15 2018, 09:50 PM
