Recently, I was charged an annual fee on my travel1 card. I contacted customer service to request a waiver, but unfortunately, they declined. They explained that even if I cancel the card, I’d still need to pay the annual fee upfront. Has anyone else faced a similar issue? If so, how did you manage to get the fee waived? Last year, I spent around 15k, which falls short of the 5k needed for automatic waiver.
