I asked them before, they said the 2000 is for participating petrol and grocery merchants only, not other spends. In this case, if you spend $2500 online, or in KK (grocery but not part of the participating merchants), or Petron/BHP, you don't qualify for 8%.

And they told me it follows calendar month.

Here's the fine print :
1Terms and Conditions for HSBC Amanah Cash Back Programme apply from 1 Jan 2015 - 31 December 2016. 2% Cash Back for total monthly spend below RM2,000 or 8% Cash Back for total monthly spend of RM2,000 and above.

Then we looky see the PDF file from "Terms used herein are defined in the Programme Terms & Conditions which can be found here.", and it says 2. This Programme shall run from 1 January 2017 until 31 December 2017, both dates inclusive
(“Programme Period”).

So I did not argue with the customer support. Was hoping that she's wrong, but so far I did not see any additional rebate other than the 0.2% I got.

I've also no plans to spend $2000 on approved petrol and grocery merchants to see if what the customer support said about the 8% is true, because I don't spend that much on these every month. And the approved grocery merchants are far from my place, petrol also gone loh.

HSBC has no legal obligations to honor what another site / third party say about them, bro. If you applied yours through Ringgitplus because of this, maybe you can bug them and they might give you some goodies.

Same here. Usually I get it on 8th every month. RM30 for ewallet and petrol. Maybe they change the date ?

I'm also didnt get the RM30 cashback for ewallet and petrol. Called HSBC 2 days ago, the CS only told me call back 3 working days, they will check =.="
