QUOTE(ronnie @ Apr 28 2022, 03:52 PM) This RinggitPlus offer cannot use the required RM1000 spend on e-Wallet ? wonder if i can fulfil this RM 1,000 requirement by spending on government related transactions such as assessment tax, indah water etc.. as T&C did not exclude?3.4 The Retail Spend: 3.4.1 Includes local and overseas retail transactions (including online transactions), standing instructions/non-online auto-billing, e-Wallet(s) top up and insurance/takaful payment. QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Jul 13 2021, 11:39 PM) I"m very free now, so let me share more juicy details The same concept applies to annual fee right? I got charged annual fee and I requested to cancel but they disallow and say I must pay the annual fee first ..Write down all the important dates and times you contact/call/email HSBC CS. e.g. 1-Jul 11:05am called CS to request cancel. CS offers 3 swipes, but I decline to continue CC, etc. 7-Jul 2:45pm email CS to follow up, asking why still not cancel 13-Jul 1:55pm called CS again but they are not willing, etc. You must do your work above few times with several working days gap, to show you have tried your best before approach BNM. That's what I've been doing when I burn the bridges with banks for the past many years, but that's another story for another time. Submit these as data to BNM when you lodge your complain, providing justification I mention above earlier that SST is "prepaid" or "in-advance", then wait few days to a week or max 10 days, provided you do your homework above with complete details. Otherwise BNM may ask you submit more details. If all done in order, you will receive email from BNM to HSBC, cc you, requesting HSBC to respond within 7-14 working days Just sit back, relax and you will get funny replies from HSBC, so called local-global-bank-whatever Continue your banter with HSBC. HSBC may still want to argue, but you stick to the "in advance". At the end, die die to keep face, HSBC will waive it but phrase it in a way to save face and still put the blame on you I chose not to continue to argue with them, that it is not HSBC gesture of goodwill, but that is my right as a consumer that I am entitled to not pay the SST and to have the CC terminated. It's that simple right and we don't have to go this route. BTW, why not you try until the end and share here for other reference as well ? Yes, I drag this SST issue until few ringgit for the late payment charges and stick to my ground and continue to play the game. In my case, I have strong CCRIS and CTOS so it doesn't affect my future credit/loan application after that. I've shared my portion already, your call |

QUOTE(NooooB @ Aug 2 2024, 01:51 PM) UPDATE I am using the t1 card and they refuse to cancel the card if I don’t pay for the annual fee which was charged in advanceIt really depends on the CS who attended to your case. Today, I called again, and this time, the CS helped me cancel without asking me to pay the annual fee. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jan 22 2025, 05:56 PM) I only had this problem with HSBC and had a long dispute with them on this, they finally gave in and allowed me to cancel without paying. That also took almost 2 months. I called again the customer service and he say card cancellation department will contact me in 3-5 working days..On another hand, Maybank won't have any issue on this. They won't force you to pay and proceed to close it. By the way, for your case, is it the first customer service contact point person or the card cancellation department doesn’t allow you to cancel without paying? Thanks. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jan 22 2025, 06:33 PM) Customer service and then I escalated and someone shared the email address here for complaint, I dropped them an email and they called to discuss. Do you still remember the email address just in case I need to use it hahaI think it should be complaints@hsbc.com.my? This post has been edited by adam1190: Jan 22 2025, 07:49 PM |
