Hey, I applied for Visa Signature HSBC, but I guess I didn't meet the requirements and got HSBC visa platinum instead. I have a lot of online transactions, before I activate the card, is there any downsides to this visa platinum which seems to onlyget points at malls and even that also I'm sure got some restriction.

If not what other banks should I try?

I did some research and most of the cashbacks all need minimum swipes to even hit the highest cashback value, which I won't be able to swipe so high consistently.

Any advice is appreciated.

for online banking like transfer money etc, yes u need dongle. for viewing statements, u can login with 2 passwords.

for online credit card payment at portals, u get TAC from mobile phone.

Just spent some USD online for some exam and no OTP. It went through just like that, though I received notification that money has been charged to me card. Just glad I used this (had to, for the MYR500 voucher) instead of Public Bank's.

Went through even when me billing address is wrong. I was lazy to type, thinking OTP will ultimately confirm the transaction is genuine. 誰知, it just went through. Guess there's less fraud in the US that OTP is not required.

Even in the past, I don't recall getting OTP when I spent USD for exams.

My hsbc application was denied back in sept, anyone know whether i could still apply via different channel (last time was ringgitplus) - planning to approach the people in mall - last week or 2 weeks i got see their booth in Vivacity Megamall.

I think should can approve, my ocbc, uob and alliance was approved after my hsbc cc application was rejected.

hsbc card application cooldown period is 3 months now...?
