So UOB ended the 4.2% since 31/1 (50k min) ? 

Looks like they are the same as MBB charging add'l 50 cents for banker's cheque. They used to charge RM0.15 in Penang while some has reported RM2.15 last year.

You are correct, banks are charging 50 sen service fee for every cheque issued. That was the new BNM ruling personal and banker cheque.

OCBC still ongoing??  Didnt stop on end-Jan?

UOB charges seems to be different for diff location. Captain has mentioned this I think 2 years ago also. In Penang, have been charged RM0.15 up to last year. I was told if FD to banker's cheque will be RM0.15 only. So far this year no redemption yet. So not sure will be RM0.65 or not. 

The add'l RM0.50 should be cheque processing fee charged starting Jan 2015.

Ha ha ha, I am the one that reported "run out of FD account number". It is UOB Bank. The reason is as I mentioned before the ridiculous system of UOB, the so called "new" system that they came up with. The next day, the FD acct was ready. So not related to what was mentioned !  Also it is for a new joint acct that I tried to open with my partner in crime.  I already have acct with UOB.  It is surprising how some of the info could have been thought of that way. 

Also I think SCB asked us to sign form that said we do not hold US "green card" as well.

Not surprising about this. When I was in Penang OCBC PB centre last week, they are not even aware of their own Ang Pow Contest. Have to tell the leng lui to check their website. The Ringgitplus promo is outside of OCBC some more.

Did the leng lui do anything on the Ang Pow Contest or just normal issuing of FD cert ? For me the leng lui did not know about it and then just say the system will take care of it. 

OCBC leng lui RM also talked to me about the investment product for new PB customer. I passed on it and go for their straight FD 12 mth 4.2%.

Hak, last week just placed for their 4.08/4.28% 12 mth FD. Now they came out with this one. Looks like they are trying to beat other banks' 12 mth 4.2%.

But at least PBB now is coming out with better step-up promo, unlike 1/2 years ago. 

Just received SMS from OCBC. Their Ang Pow Contest extended from 18/3 to 20/3.

More competition to get the Ang Pow !
