QUOTE $_=tr\[0-4]$s-_{\\'\t\$_}`-npe [0-4] means 0 to 4* (01000001+10001101+10000101+00000111) nnn while tr \0 practically means nothing, just remove the null character. After reading the tr man, it doesn't look like the unix tool. |

QUOTE(btfan @ Nov 30 2006, 10:16 PM) ^If there's no speed limit or disconnection please count me in. How much roughly per month? Definitely no speed limit but I'm thinking of limiting the number of connections to around 50 per user. The server resources is limited, if every user makes 200 connections per torrent then there'll be performance impact. Of course, the number of connections also account for the download speed. However, if we can get 20-30 seeders, the speed would mostly max already. So, pandai2 lah... I believe with azureus, you can ban certain peers. Rather than letting them occupy the connection, just ban them to let other seeders to connect. The ban can be removed after finished downloading. Well, that connection limit is still a plan. If every users can restrain to make too many connections, then i won't need to enforce it.BTW if i'm not mistaken you said it could be setup to encrypt your torrent downloads only and exclude HTTP browsing rite? It can be as low as RM 22 / month depends on how many ppl interested also. You got a good memory there and you're right. This post has been edited by virtual: Nov 30 2006, 10:27 PM |

They can, but i believe they won't. Thirty to forty ppl won't matter for them.

QUOTE(btfan @ Dec 2 2006, 11:52 AM) Isn't 50 a bit on the low side? Even if you're running only one torrent, it's still a maximum of 50 connection and normally ppl run a few torrent at a go. I reached my max. connection at around 30 connected seeders+peers. The thing of more importance, are those seeders+peers uploading? If average they upload 2 KB/s, download speed is almost max already. I recommend running 1 torrent at a time. |

QUOTE(btfan @ Dec 2 2006, 06:20 PM) I think it will be tough for people to just sit there looking to ban people who's not seeding. And for certain client, it's not easy as to click and ban someone. I was just giving example which is not necessary. Look at my screenshot, you can see I didn't have too many connections and still getting acceptable speed. A good bittorrent client should autodetect stale connection. However, it doesn't mean anyone will get that kind of speed. It is down to a lot of things. Besides, when the server gets crowded, i believe around 40 KB/s would be the max. |

QUOTE(Nucleon @ Dec 8 2006, 11:57 AM) Oh no.... My Tuotu cannot get good speed now... I think its capped... always get yo yo speed around 5k to 13k. Anyone facing this problem? my tunnelling service to seems cannot connect to BT network...Gosh ....What is happening ~ Tuotu can get good speed because it can download/upload using UDP. However, not all clients support UDP yet or going to. If you download torrent file where all of seeders/peers are using client which does not support UDP, then tuotu can only use TCP. In that case, the speed will be just the same as you're using utorrent which doesn't support UDP. |

QUOTE(Chartry @ Dec 17 2006, 12:39 AM) http://www.dosdragon.com/antithrottle.zip some1 claimed this can solve ur bt troubles. i need a scapegoat QUOTE If your looking for COMCAST or Adelphia Anit-Throttle you can download it here. This software does not increase your internet speed, it is no magic bullet. It will only keep tabs on your Internet connection. If your connection goes down it will spoof your MAC address making your PC appear to be a new machine to the Internet providers. From the description above we can know it doesn't solve the problem. Better don't simply try a software on your machine. If you're curious, try it on some spare PC which doesn't have your work. |
