Yah, true, but i think his point was, why do 3 kgs when you can do 10kgs? Why bench 20kgs when a person can bench way more than that? People who keep lifting at 60-70% of their 1rm max will never progress. There's not much stress placed on the muscles on not enough stimuli for hypertrophy. all that is developed is endurance.

I have met a guy who went to the gym who did 60kgs for 3 years. Pretty much made me speechless.

And I was one of the guys who couldnt do a pushup before going to the gym. I eventually could after building up essential muscles needed to do a proper pushup.

I got tons of these kind of friends, gym = places for ugly-huge-bald-bad-guys. What can i say when you invite them to gym and they tell you they are tired, not free, bullsh*t and bullsh*t, while they sitting at home, playing computer games? For the whole year, not once they will join the gym, not even do any exercises.

All i can do is just feel sad, because i last time used to be like that too.. or much more worst. smile.gif

actually from my own i experience... i play football well.... since im going to the gym for almost 2 years... my intention at first was to bulk up... but guess what it did effect my footbll and futsal... i don't know why.... durin tht period of time... it's hard to make quick turns, you become slower you feel your body is broad, your tshirt holds your neck when you sweat... and definetely hard to get thorugh pass players... so right now i stop bulking up and scoping my down my purpose to the gym... to keep fit.... get some perfect cuts... as well as playing football and fustal.. now im back on track... but better since gym helps you alot in stamina,...

yeah i totally fell really sad how can't people not do exercise.... doesn't matter if it's gym or not.... from my experience most people have gang of friends who enrol to the gym together but if one of them stops the whole gang stops... they do it for the sake of going with friends as a bunch...not just tht they're certain people who envy guys who are better lookin muscularly since they attract the feminine side better..(better confidence ma)... but all they do is wonder why they can't do the same.... keep saying my body is small even though i eat alot...

Going to gym or not does not matter, but everyone must at least do some exercise that make them sweat and pant.

and going to the gym does not necessarily makes you bigger size. You can lift for bulking up, but you can also lift for getting cut and slim.

Well, that's the fallacy of the fitness centre concept. I wonder what's the REAL motivation of members of Cali Fitness, Fitness First, CF or TF? Do they go there because of the number of floors, the new features, the number of rooms of aerobics classes or which center is the biggest?
I dunno man, i jsut go there to pump iron, a few basic equipment is all i need. And people wonder why they never make progress when they keep trying the new super duper flex tex chest blaster in the machine section.

To check out the chicks? o.O

Any gym can be a good place to train, but large fitness centres can quickly become distractions if you're not focused enough. I stick with my instructor. It's surprising how much more motivated you become when there's somebody kicking your ass whenever you slacken.
